Story
Meet Mister! Mister came to CCHS as a stray earlier this January from the Granton area. This stunning, 2-year-old Red Heeler mix currently weighs 44.2lbs of goofiness! While we can't for certain what his life was like before, however we believe that Mister might have been a farm dog prior to ending up with us, as he didn't seem to understand what leashes, or even what a collar, was for! Mister is a super smart guy and is a quick learner; just always looking for a job to do! Our hope for Mister is to get him back to the farm life, as we do believe he would be happiest in that environment. With any rescue, training and socialization are incredibly important to the success of the dog. Apply for Mister today!Approved applicants will be notified via email. Please check junk/spam folders for a response. The adoption fee is $200. Adoption applications can be filled out at CCHS or online through our website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. Applications are not first come, first served. All applications will be reviewed by the adoption committee and the home chosen will be the one considered to be the best match. All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated for Distemper and Bordetella, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will be vaccinated for Rabies and blood tested for Heartworm, Lymes, Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichiosis. Dogs and puppies will be spayed or neutered before adoption. CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society. As a private, non-profit charity, our work depends on donations and volunteers to keep going. We are committed to helping the animals that enter our doors and finding each the best possible forever home. CCHS has been inspected and licensed by the Department of Animal Health - DATCP. Our license is #268235-DS.

Story
Cooper is a very high energy dog. He loves walks, playing fetch, and just running. Living in town just doesn’t give him the activity and space he would to have. He is very welcoming; however he doesn’t like to see his people leave. Sometimes he will get a little guarded of doors and his space. He loves to explore his toys and find the secret squeaky things inside. Great alarm dog and very aware of his surroundings.

Story
Meet Chicken! Chicken came to CCHS from a local farm towards the middle of February. This sweet Heeler mix is about a year old and weighs 29.6lbs currently. Chicken is an absolute lover boy! While he has a touch of that Heeler energy to him, he'd rather use it all giving you kisses! Chicken came in with a torn nail, so he is currently being treated with medication to help heal that right up! While we aren't entirely sure what his exact breed makeup is, we can tell you he's 100% snugglebug! With any rescue, training and socialization are incredibly important to the success of the dog. Apply for Chicken today!Approved applicants will be notified via email. Please check junk/spam folders for a response. The adoption fee is $300.
