History: 🧡 From Texas to Midwest 🤠—- A group of deserving dogs was recently welcomed as part of our Texas Transport Program! A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own! A Note from the Foster: Meet Mandy! She is the absolute sweetest pup. Mandy is super smart, energetic, loves people, kids & other dogs. Mandy loves to play. She would do best in a house with energy and another dog to play with. She just learned how to "fetch"! Mandy would be a great agility or flyball dog. Mandy has a ton of energy, she is fast, and loves to jump. Mandy is 95% potty trained, sometimes just gets too excited and forgets to let me know she needs to go outside! We are working on ringing a bell to let me know she needs to go out. We have worked really hard on recall; Mandy will stop what she's doing and run to me when I call her name! We are currently working on leash training, heel, sit and touch. Mandy is in a crate when we are not home. Mandy is so eager to please! We have been bringing Mandy to outdoor festivals, outdoor patios at our fav restaurants and she does really well! Mandy just wants to join in ALL the fun and be part of the gang!

A program launched to make an impactful difference for our partner shelters in Texas facing the overpopulation of animals with limited resources and low adoption rates. We are excited to help these southern gems find loving forever homes to call their own! A Note from the Foster: Arthur has really made me only want to foster senior dogs! He is an 8 year old cattle dog mix that has gone through more than any animal should. His previous owner passed away and Arthur arrives from Texas looking for a second chance. For such a sad past, you would never know Arthur has gone through hard times. Arthur has fit into our home and life seamlessly. He is incredibly chill and relaxed when you want him to be, and ready for adventure and playtime whenever you are! He loves a good walk and fetch. He also likes to train and is very food motivated, so old dogs can definitely learn new tricks! He is still working on crate training (he barks when left alone right now) but will sleep on his bed the entire time I’m gone. He has lived with other dogs before and does well, but as he has a higher prey drive, I’m not sure about cats. He loves his people and will settle in pressed against you as soon as you sit down. Who is ready to give Arthur a second chance?

Story
History: Jackie is a stunning young cattle dog mix who was adopted and returned to rescue due to not being a fit for cats in the home. She loves other dogs and would thrive with another dog in the home to be play with. She is a loving girl who hopes to find her forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Hi, I'm Jackie! I'm a smart, incredibly sweet, very high energy girl looking for the perfect forever home. I was at Coco's previously and adopted, but I couldn't get along with the resident cat, so I'm back looking for a cat-free and small animal free home. I LOVE other dogs and would do great in a home where I have a playmate. I would also do well with children if they are a little older and can help remind me not to jump up on them. I still have a lot of puppy in me and am working on my manners. Jumping up and pulling on the leash while being walked are the things I am currently working on. I'm so smart and very gentle hearted (except to cats and squirrel's). With exercise and consistent training my foster mom is positive I'll the best dog. I'm already doing great with potty training, sleeping through the night in my crate and most commands (sit, wait, give). Once I've had enough exercise I love napping and a good snuggle on the couch. I'll curl right up with you and give you as much love as you want. What I need to be a good dog for you is a solid 2-3 mile walk in the morning, some fetch time and maybe second walk every day. Firm but gentle reminders not to jump up are helpful, but what I want most is your praise, belly rubs and love.

Story
Maynard is an almost 4-year-old Australian Cattle Dog who just wants to hang! Weighing about 50 pounds, he’s incredibly social and genuinely loves meeting new people, greeting strangers like old friends who just haven’t gotten enough hugs yet. When he first arrived to his foster home, he warmed up immediately in full cuddle buddy mode. Maynard is fully house-trained, happily sticking to a potty routine and sleeping in his crate peacefully for 8–9 hours. He doesn’t love being left alone, but with a frozen treat and calming music, he settles just fine. He does best in a home where someone is around often and can give him the affection and closeness he craves. Due to his noise level, he cannot live in homes with shared walls (no apartments/townhomes).Maynard LOVES his walks more than just about anything, and two short walks a day are all he needs to stay happy. He also has a hilarious independent streak and can fully entertain himself with strong chew toys, rolling on the couch, and playing solo games of catch. With other dogs, Maynard is curious and social. If he spots a dog across the street, he may pause and bark, but overall he’s friendly and interested rather than reactive. He does not have experience with cats so a proper introduction would be needed. Around kids, he has done well with a visiting 12-year-old.Maynard is easy-to-love and would love being part of a family. Are you ready for this cuddlebug? Here is a link to a video for more information: https://www.flexclip.com/share/3552797OgfUquPbIqyYc7tMOjJ79p76EdX2ZUQt.htmlIf you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

YOU WILL FIND THE ANSWER TO ALL BASIC QUESTIONS BELOW. Please read carefully Before emailing. *If you have emailed using an “Apple ID” or other relay system you will Not recieve a response as they block Petfinder. All emails are answered within 24 hours. If you have not received a response in 24 hours we did not receive your email so please email again! This dog is fostered near Marine on St Croix MN. Tilly is a purebred ACD born 7-4-25. She currently weighs about 15 pounds. She will likely be around 25 pounds as an adult. The rest of Tilly’s siblings were sold by the breeder to a pet store. They didn’t take Tilly because she is missing half of one ear. We think that just makes her extra cute! You may remember Tilly being posted several months ago. Unfortunately, she was dropped by an adult during a meet and greet, resulting in four broken bones in her foot. Tilly went through weeks of casting and bandage changes, and thankfully, her foot is now completely healed. She is continuing to gain strength and mobility after months of crate rest. Her new family will need to ensure that she remains active and is not allowed to become obese. Tilly likes other nice dog friends. She requests a home with a doggie best friend if possible! She currently lives with Meg and several resident dogs. She lives with older, dog savvy kids as well. Tilly will not be a good candidate for a home with very young children who could re-injure her leg. Tilly is crate trained and house trained when kept on a schedule. She would do great in a basic training class to learn good things with a new family too. A little time and she is going to be your very best friend. *Each pup is spayed or neutered and current on their vet cares. *We do not hold or reserve dogs. We do not ship or fly. Prospective families must come to the dogs location in MN to meet.* *Emails are answered in the order they are received. We are receiving a large number of emails, so answering promptly is our goal. If you are interested in adoption, your prompt responses are the best way to get through the adoption screening* *Adoption fees are payable in cash or money order only. Story
History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own! A Note from the Foster: Sweetie lives up to her name. She is full of love and ready to find her forever home. She’s got a beautiful white coat and is working on finding the right ways to show her abundance of love and happiness. Sweetie thinks she’s a lap dog and loves to lounge on the futon or the couch while snuggling her person. At 20 months she still has some puppy energy in her and burns that off playing chase with the resident dog in the backyard. Sweetie gets along well with other dogs about her same size. She doesn’t quite understand personal space and that she’s a bit bigger. She would be good as an only dog or with a sidekick to show her the ropes. Sweetie might be a bit much with younger kids but good for older kids that are active and love to play outside. Sweetie does have limited vision however she has adapted well to her foster home without accommodation. She does fine getting around without assistance and does the stairs without issues. Sweetie is still working on learning to take walks on a leash. Her vision and lack of confidence comes out. A fenced yard would be great for Sweetie. Her foster mom says Sweetie loves to run laps around the leaf piles in the backyard and has become comfortable navigating the yard on her own. Sweetie really is a sweetheart trying to live her best life. She loves to give licks and nose boops. Sweetie loves to carry her toys around the house and an occasional shoe or 2 have been found in her bed.

History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort was a great success in welcoming over 180+ animals to rescue from rural areas in North Dakota before the cold set in. These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own! A Note from the Foster: Andri (or as we call her, Lady) is the sweetest, shyest girl with the softest soul. She loves people but greets new faces timidly, often making herself small and rolling onto her back to show her belly as a way of politely saying hello. While this isn’t always an invitation for belly rubs at first, once she’s comfortable, she truly enjoys them. She has the cutest little cow-spotted belly and is quite possibly the softest dog you’ll ever meet. Andri did wonderfully at her grooming appointment and handled it like a champ. She absolutely loves being outside, even on cold and blustery days. She does great on walks and is gaining confidence every time she heads out. While she appreciates having her own space and some quiet alone time, she will seek out affection when she’s in the mood. She’s still learning the art of snuggling, but she’s making progress. She’s also starting to get the littlest bouts of zoomies! It’s so cute watching her playful side come out of its shell. One of Andri’s most endearing traits is her love for TV! Her adorable head tilts are a hoot! She has done very well with free roam of the house while her fosters are at work, with no accidents. Previous fosters shared that she was comfortable in a crate, though she hasn’t shown much interest in one recently and has done well without it. Andri is currently carrying a little extra weight, so a consistent diet and daily walks will be important to help her reach her healthiest self. In the past, Andri lived with other dogs and was reported to get a bit uncomfortable when dogs roughhoused too close to her crate. She is currently living as the only pet in the home. Her compatibility with cats is unknown. Andri would do best in a calm household with no kids or a home with older kids who understand and respect her boundaries. She truly enjoys peace, quiet, and having a bit of space to feel safe and secure. Andri is a gentle, thoughtful girl who will blossom beautifully in a patient, loving home that appreciates her calm nature and kind heart.
