Story
Daisy was purchased from a farm in Kissimmee, Florida and is purebred. I got her in high school, took her to college, and she has been great. As we have begun to grow our family, we found that Daisy does best with kids 4+ years old, but was manageable with younger kids when we had a bigger house and fenced yard, but after downsizing Daisy is too crammed with the two little ones and is not getting the attention she needs to thrive. Daisy is a shadow dog and will go anywhere you want to go. She has a strong personality but is extremely loyal and wants to please. As a working breed Daisy would do best with someone who has an active lifestyle and will exercise her daily. She loves fetch and hikes. Daisy does well on leash and with other dogs as long as you have a calm energy and understand dog behavior. She is nine years old but very healthy and cattle dogs are known to live 16+ years. We just need her to go to a good, loving home before our 2nd baby is born in the next few weeks.

Story
PICKETT Pickett was born in 2015. He is about 45 pounds, mostly black. He is a mystery mix. LOVES EVERYONE! He gets along with all people - he's a hugger and kisser Loves other dogs - moderately playful. He does try to hump the first time meeting, but is easily corrected. Loves cats. Great on the leash. And in the car. He's not young, but has tons of puppy like energy. LOVES toys and bones. Good house manners. HOWEVER, when unsupervised he should be crated or he may chew inappropriately. He was with a rescue for the last seven years and was never chosen somehow - despite his super friendly adorable personality. That rescue closed, he went to a local shelter, and knowing him personally, I had to bring him here HE DESERVES A WONDERFUL HOME. He's a hoot! If interested, please contact me at trampsrescue@yahoo.com or 804-248-3042 (text or message)

Story
My name is Pauley and I would love to be your BFF kind of family member.   I am 4 months old and they tell me that I am a ONE OF A KIND sort of puppy.  My colors and my dazzling blue eyes and ears that are going to be unpredictable (will they go up or stay down)  is what makes everyone stop and turn around to take a look at me.  I honestly love everyone and every creature that I meet.  God just made me to be a happy boy inside and out.  I really like dogs, cats and I adore children.  I never meet a stranger that I didn't like.  They say that I am a forgiving pup and I have had some hard times and things done to me that most dogs would never forgive.  But all that is in the past.  I just feel that I must be kind and show people what the true love of a dog can feel like. They say it is hard to know exactly what kind of breeds are in my background but I know that they tell me I am different and very special.  I am almost 20 pounds and probably headed to being a 45 pound adult when I am fully grown. I am learning about crates, housebreaking schedules to follow and I have mastered walking on a leash.  I am ready NOW for a home and so here I am !!!!   If you want to make me a part of your life please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  I promise to be loyal through and through to YOU!        PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com  November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Say hello to our very sweet Red Heeler mix boy that we call Bert! This handsome boy is only 6 months old and weighs 27 pounds and was born in a barn in rural Middle Tennessee to a Heeler momma who was barely hanging to life.  She was nursed back to health and has found a home already. Without knowing who dad is, we might just say that he is a “Heinz 57” Heeler mix boy that is destined to be a 35 pound dog when fully grown.  What you realize about Bery when you meet him is that he is a little shy and follows like a shadow.  He is needing some very specific one on one attention and confidence building.  He would thrive in a home with lots of loving people and even other pets are welcomed like cats or dogs.  He is very accustomed to lots of busy hustle and bustle in the foster home and this is a good thing.  He just wants to be by your side and follow you around.  We will say up front that he does not have a lot of leash practice.  His busy foster mom has been moving in to a new house and she fosters cats and other dogs and stays a little tied up with running her own business from home AND being a busy foster to multiple abandoned cats and dogs.  Bert is a healthy boy and is neutered and had all his shots finished and microchipped and dewormings done. Bert loves to play and frolic with his brother Ernie who looks more like a Red Heeler even than Bert.  If you know about the Heeler breed, you will read that they are devoted and  extremely smart.  One of the smartest breeds of dogs on the planet.  In his foster home Bert is more outgoing than when in new outside the home situations.  That will change with some practice in taking him places.   We predict that Bert will be one of those never to be forgotten  family pets that will stand out in a family’s mind as one of the best dogs they ever owned.   BERT IS HOUSEBROKEN AND CRATE TRAINED….and rides like a champ in the car.   We love his brindle red coloring and his very unique and funky ears that may change shape still as he grows.  Please write to us and tell us where you live when asking about Bert.   Critter Cavalry Rescue would like to have you email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and ask for the application. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 11, 2024, 7:28 pm

Story
This handsome red heeler mix puppy is called Ernie and he and his brother Bert and their mom were found in a barn where they had been raised by their stray mother. Their mother was barely hanging on to life. The happy ending to her story is she is living with a wonderful family now and is loved and Ernie is looking for a wonderful family too raise him, love him, and bring his own special joy to. Ernie is a really delightful and well adjusted 6-month-old puppy that weighs 26 lb. He is a friendly little guy that enjoys meeting people and loves to chase a ball and bring it back to you. His innocence and love for life is contagious. He craves being with people that like him and speak kind words to him. He will crawl in your lap and be your best little buddy. His foster mom who raised he and his brother Bert says that he has the best temperament and personality. Recently this little guy went to a yoga class at the YMCA and had so much fun. It was a totally new and unique environment and he handled it with great poise and embraced all of the Zen vibes going on. Ernie is housebroken, crate trained, loves being around other cats and dogs alike and adores children. There isn't a living creature on this earth that he doesn't like. He is learning quite well,  how to walk on a leash and he rides in a car like a pro. He would be a great dog to take for hikes, long walks, outdoor events and adventures, and of course he would be a hit at any family reunions. Ernie is ready to call a family and their home his very own. If you are interested in making Ernie your perfect little sidekick in life, Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 17, 2024, 11:56 am

Story
My name is Axel and I am a Blue Heeler mix male that weighs about 28 to 30 lb and I am looking for a fun and active family. Critter Cavalry Rescue has promised me a great life and future that will give me all the love and comforts that a dog deserves. Me and my siblings have been in a Tennessee small town shelter for almost 2 months. We've done pretty good because we're getting decent care but a shelter is not a place for puppies to grow up. I am the kind of boy that will be happy and loving and go on all the great adventures or hikes that you want to go on. I just need someone to give me the opportunity to show what a terrific type of dog I can be. I am good with other dogs and I'll be fine with cats too because I think they're pretty cool. I will need some help on getting into a good house breaking schedule and potty break timeouts.   I am a dog that is very adaptable and above all very lovable. I would be great with kids, a young adult couple, a single person, or an empty nest couple.   I could be a second or third dog or I could be the only dog. A secretly fenced yard would really be fun, so that I could just hang out for hours on my own.  If you read up about the Heeler breed, you will learn that they are very smart and very devoted to their families. We aren't on the go all the time and have chill buttons that certainly can be punched. I would love to hang out and watch some TV with you or stay at your feet while you're reading or working on the computer. I just need exercise everyday to some degree. I'm not a shy dog and I'm not a anxious dog, but I am a good dog to consider as you're forever best friend. If you were interested in making me a part of your future life with a dog, I'll be a good one, I promise. Meet Peppermint: A Sweet Puppy Looking for Love Peppermint came to us from heartbreaking conditions. He was kept in a backyard with his littermates, living in very dirty and filthy surroundings. Despite this tough start, Peppermint is a gentle soul who is ready to leave his past behind and find his forever home. At just 3 months old, Peppermint is still a little shy but we expect him to open up quickly as he adjusts to his new environment. He is a mix of Australian Cattle Dog and Shepherd, with a stunning brown and black dapple coat that will make him stand out wherever he goes. Peppermint is good with kids and other dogs, and while he hasn’t met many cats yet, we believe he would do well with them. He is crate-trained and getting better at adjusting to his new life every day. He is still a puppy, so he will need some work on house training, but with a little patience and love, he will thrive. Peppermint weighs around 14.8 lbs as of 11/13/2024 and will be a medium-sized dog when fully grown. He is up-to-date on his vaccinations but has not been altered yet. We are currently working on finding him a foster home, but if you’re ready to open your heart to a sweet boy in need, please reach out to us! Let’s show Peppermint what it’s like to feel safe, loved, and cherished. He deserves a family that will give him all the warmth and care he’s been missing. 💖 Estimating 30-35 lbs full grown

Meet North: A Brave Pup Ready for a Fresh Start North came to us alongside his brother Peppermint, both rescued from incredibly difficult conditions. They were kept in a backyard with their littermates in filthy, unsafe surroundings. Despite this rough beginning, North is a brave boy with so much love to give, and he’s ready for a fresh start in a home where he’ll be cared for and cherished. At just 3 months old, North is a little shy but warms up quickly with patience and kindness. His stunning coat, a mix of fawn and red, gives him a unique and handsome look. North is a mix of Australian Cattle Dog and Shepherd, and at 17.8 lbs as of 11/13/2024, he is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog. North is good with kids and other dogs and will likely do well with cats, though he hasn’t met many yet. He is crate-trained and still working on his house training. Like most puppies, North will need a family who can help him adjust, grow, and thrive. With love and consistency, he will be the loyal companion you've been looking for. We know North’s future is bright, but he needs a loving family to show him the way. If you’re looking for a sweet puppy to welcome into your home, North might be your perfect match. Let’s help North have the life he deserves—a life full of love, play, and happiness. 🐾💖 Estimating 30-35 lbs full grown

Story
We adopted our ACD, Maeve, in September of 2023 when she was 8 weeks old. She is a sweet girl and we love her very much. Unfortunately, we have discovered several people in the home with a dog allergy and are suffering because of it. We are looking for a very loving home that has plenty of space for her to run around. She’s energetic and playful, so does best when she’s running and playing. She is a Blue Heeler and does have herding tendencies especially for wheels moving (she goes nuts) but has successfully learned to not herd the children. While she is great with the kids, she does get possessive of certain toys which has made me nervous for small hands trying to take something away. She doesn’t respond to the adults in the house like that and is very willing to obey commands.

These pups are in Richmond, Virginia too!

Story
Bowie was a rescue that we have loved having in our family for the past 4 years. He is about 5.5 years old and loves snuggling on the couch, playing outside, and going on walks. Bowie enjoys being around friendly people and wants to please and show you his tricks. Bowie is very protective of his home and family and would do well with a home that has lots of space from neighbors. Bowie's ideal home would have older calm children or just parents. We are rehoming Bowie because he has not gotten along with our 1 year old child since they started walking and moving around. We believe Bowie may have had some trauma in his past before we rescued him and our child moving quickly has caused him to nip and bite them a few times out of fear. Keeping them separated has been the our only solution to keep them both safe, but we want Bowie to be a part of a family instead of being separated. Which is why we are pursuing rehoming.
