Story
Stella is a sweet and gentle 5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a heart as big as her soft, soulful eyes. Though she can be shy at first, once she gets to know you, Stella will shower you with love, cuddles, and plenty of sweet kisses! Stella came to us from a difficult dog-hoarding situation where she lived with over 15 other dogs. This high-stress environment left her needing time to feel safe and comfortable in new surroundings. But once she warms up, her affectionate and loyal nature truly shines. One of Stella’s favorite activities is running and playing in our Bark Park with her kennel mate, Thumper, and her buddy, Oswald. She seems to do well with other dogs but appreciates a patient introduction to let her trust and confidence grow. Stella is already spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, so she’s ready to go to her forever home! It’s important to note that Stella has luxating patellas (loose kneecaps) in both her back legs, a condition that may require surgery as she gets older. Stella does have an anti-inflammatory that she takes when her knees "act up." This condition may also cause arthritis to set in earlier in life. Despite this, she remains active, happy, and full of life! If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will reward your patience with endless love and devotion, Stella could be the perfect match. Come meet her today—your new best friend is waiting! 🐾 Ready to Adopt? Here's How! The first step in our adoption process is submitting an application through our website. Simply visit: https://www.hoovesandpaws.org/shelterluv.html, click on the pet’s photo to view their full bio, then click “Apply for Adoption” to get started. Please give us a few days to review your application. If approved, you’ll receive an email from adoptions@hoovesandpaws.org to schedule a meet and greet (including any necessary dog-to-dog introductions). If the meet and greet goes well and you’d like to move forward, we’ll schedule a home check—this means we’ll bring your new furry friend to your home ourselves. This helps ensure a smooth transition and gives your new pup a familiar face upon arrival. We’ll finalize the adoption at that time! Questions, comments, or concerns? Reach out to us anytime at adoptions@hoovesandpaws.org. We're here to help!

Story
Meet Tahoe — One Sock Short of Perfection Tahoe is a friendly, affectionate gentleman who just happens to be missing a front sock (don’t worry, he wears it proudly). He loves people of all ages and has impeccable manners—no barking, jumping, or begging around food. Basically, the kind of dog who makes you look like a great trainer. On leash, Tahoe is a dream. He walks politely, rarely pulls, and enjoys stopping to sniff the world. Snow and outdoor adventures are his happy place, where his playful, energetic side shines. While he can occasionally feel unsure around other dogs, he’s easily redirected and recovers quickly. At home, Tahoe is calm, cozy, and well-behaved. He’s fully house-trained, sleeps through the night, and is perfectly content napping while you work. He entertains himself with toys or bones, never destroys belongings, and loves nothing more than curling up in a towel after a walk like a well-wrapped burrito. Tahoe is a certified shadow dog—loyal, cuddly, and always nearby. He thrives on affection, offers joyful “happy jiggles” when you return home, and is just as happy snuggling on the couch or in bed as he is playing tug-of-war. He’s great with guests, social, playful, and adapts beautifully to new situations (including car rides). Overall, Tahoe is the best of both worlds: calm and polite indoors, adventurous and fun outdoors. A loving, loyal companion who proves you don’t need all four socks to be absolutely perfect Tahoe is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all of his vaccinations. You can meet him at the CASPCA between the hours of 12 and 6 PM daily, no appointment necessary. If you have any additional questions, please email adoptions@caspca.org.

Story
Pebbles is my sweet Blue Heeler mix who I adopted when he was only 8weeks old. He is very smart, sweet, goofy, and always loves some good “scratchies”. He enjoys hikes and walks, as well as playing with squeaky toys, but equally enjoys lazing contentedly around the house. He is house trained and has no separation anxiety. I never used a crate, he can be left alone and isn’t at all destructive. He chews toys he is given but leaves my son’s toys alone and never gets into food or trash. Unfortunately he has never taken to being a family dog. Pebbles ideal life would be in a home without children. He is good with other dogs. He displays anxiety and signs of aggression at times toward my child. Open to initiating behavioral modification training and slowly transitioning ownership if desired by a new family. We just cannot afford ongoing care with a Behavioral Specialist Vet. Pebbles also has allergies and we are managing those as best we can. Thanks for your consideration! ❤️🐶🫂

Story
Bandit was adopted from our rescue as a pup and was sadly brought back because his adopter was having a baby and unable to care for him. He is a loving boy who is used to lots of room to run and play. He loves the outdoors, making him a wonderful camping/hiking partner. He has been raised around kids, but because he is a cattledog, he may try to nip them. He means no harm; it's just his breed. Bandit is housebroken and crate trained according to his previous family. He has lived with other dogs but has not been tested around cats. If you would like to adopt Bandit, please submit an application https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/66b189c45d6f9afa2c07afb8/66b954c3bf28ecca4c04aecb
