Meet Onyx: The Ultimate Companion & Professional Couch Sidekick 🐾 If you’re looking for a dog who already knows the ropes, has mastered the art of house manners, and lives for a good belly rub, meet Onyx. At 8 years young, Onyx is a "soul dog" looking for her second act. She found herself at the shelter through no fault of her own after her long time owner passed away, and she is so ready to find a new person to devote herself to. Why you’ll love Onyx: • The Best Houseguest: She is fully housebroken and has impeccable manners. No puppy chaos here—just a sophisticated lady who knows how to relax. • Social Butterfly: Onyx hasn’t met a stranger yet! She greets everyone with a wagging tail and a hopeful look for some affection. • Excellent Communicator: She’s a smart girl who will politely let you know when it’s breakfast or dinner time. No need for an alarm clock when Onyx is around! • Low Maintenance: Her favorite hobbies include leisurely neighborhood walks, followed by her absolute favorite activity: laying right at your feet while you work or relax. • Gentle Soul: She has zero prey drive, meaning she’s a calm companion on walks and isn't interested in chasing the local squirrels. Onyx is a refined lady who appreciates her peace and quiet. Because of this, she’s not into the "paparazzi" energy of puppies or high-energy young do

Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Snuggles fetch and food!  What do these things have in common?  Ranger!  These just happen to be his most favorite things!  If you too love puppy snuggles then he’s the guy for you.   After a seemingly never ending game of fetch, Ranger will happily settle down and chill with a chew bone or even better a nap snuggled up next to his favorite person.   Food is up next on his list of faves, which makes him an ideal candidate for training! He loves to learn and picks up new skills so quickly.  All he needs is a new family to continue his education. It’s hard to believe this adorable guy was taken to a shelter in SW VA after being hit by a car and no one claimed him.  After being cleared by a vet he was able to be transferred to Mutts for a chance at a better life!  It’s taken some time for us to really get to know him but after spending quality time in not one, but two foster homes (he’s so popular two foster families are sharing his time!), we’ve discovered what an amazing boy Ranger is! To note, Ranger can be uncomfortable and reactive to some dogs while on leash.  We feel with the right fear free training, time and patience, this can be managed and improved.  Ranger has had some good play sessions with female dogs and was able to coexist in a foster home with calm, female dogs.  At this time it is best for Ranger to live in a single family home with a fenced yard where his interactions around other dogs can be managed.  He is able to go for walks with a plan and lots of treats for distractions.  Trust us when we say this love bug will be worth all the extra effort! Ranger is 40lbs and 2 yrs old.  **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Upcoming adoption events:                Saturday  Apr 4th 12 -3 pm Weber's Pet Supermarket; 11135 Lee Highway; Fairfax     Saturday  Apr 11th 12-3 pm Weber's Pet Supermarket; 2280-C Hunters Wood Plaza; Reston     Saturday Apr 18th 12-4 pm  Eavesdrop Brewery; 7223 Centreville Rd; ste 115; Manassas     Saturday Apr 25th 12-3 pm Weber's Pet Supermarket; 2280-C Hunters Wood Plaza; Reston We are always desperate for foster homes, now more than ever. Story
Fetch has a few things he would like to tell you about himself: “ I'm Fetch, the master of all things fun including some misadventures! One sunny day, I decided to chase a squirrel - classic, right? Well, this was no ordinary chase. We zipped through parks, dodged picnickers, and somehow ended up at a shelter when I took a wrong turn into an open van searching for treats. Oops! But hey, every cloud has a silver lining. I'm now looking for a forever home where my playful, smart, and energetic spirit can thrive. If you love fun and games as much as I do, let's start our adventure together!” Now let us tell you about Fetch. He loves people and other dogs. If you have a dog that loves to play, Fetch would be a great addition. He is house trained and crate trained. When he is tired or there is too much going on in his foster home, he put himself in his crate for a nap. He’s happy to chill in the recliner with you. He would be great for someone(s) who like to hike, take long walks or a jogger/runner. If you are interested in Fetch please let us know. Questions About this Animal?
