Story
Introducing, Bert! Bert, who you may remember as Chewy, was sadly returned. No one is to blame, sometimes things just don't work out. Bert's 'herding dog' ways were too much for the resident dog and kids. His family loved him dearly but knew that they weren't the best fit for our boy. Bert is about 2 years old, and a little guy weighing 26 lbs. Bert is deaf but don't let that deter you! He is very smart and has learned hand signals to 'sit', 'stay', and 'come'. He's also strikingly cute with his one blue eye and gorgeous coat. Bert can be shy and nervous in new situations but does warm up quickly. It only took him a few days to start coming out of his shell in his new foster home. Bert loves to go on long walks and would probably be an amazing running partner. He would do best in a home with another energetic dog that likes to play rough or as an only pet. He will need a patient adopter that understands his limitations as a deaf dog. Interested in learning more about Bert? Apply at www.novapetsalive.org/adopt. Bert is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, was given dewormer and monthly preventatives, and is microchipped.

Story
Meet Cookie!! He is as cute as a button! He came to HART extremely timid but has made tremendous progress. Here is what our trainer told us about Cookie: 'He is still a bit shy when he first meets you, but a cuter little man with so much personality it would be hard to find. This is NOT a super athletic, needs a ton of exercise little dog. This is going to be a little dog with a huge personality and a snuggly little potato who would love another confident dog in the home for company and to cuddle with. He does not need a super playful rough and tumble companion. What he really needs is a role model to show him the ropes. He is house trained, crate trained, walks ok on a leash (but really isn't into long walks at this point) a small yard would be ample. If interested in Cookie, please let us know. Story
Remy is playful, eager to please, food motivated and very intelligent. He absolutely loves other dogs and has made a lot of canine friends on daily walks. He would do great if he had a canine sibling and a fenced yard to play in. Remy is loyal and wonderful to his family. He loves running after a ball or a stick or frisbee and is learning to bring them back to his person. He also loves his toy collection and will go his basket of toys and pick something out when he is bored! We told you he is smart! He needs a slow introduction with strangers because people he does not know appear to make him nervous. He is crate trained and potty trained, and would make an excellent jogging or hiking companion. He knows basic commands like sit, down, shake, and he knows to wait patiently for his food at mealtimes. He is currently in a home with a kitten and the two of them get along great. If you are interested in this beautiful and active dog, please let us know. Thank you for your interest in Remy (formerly Caramel)!
