Story
Meet Cooper, our loyal and protective 10-year-old neutered dog, who has been a cherished member of our family for a decade. Originally a farm dog, Cooper consistently watches over his home and is up to date on all his vaccines. While Cooper is adored by our children, his protective nature has become an issue in our neighborhood. Recently, he nipped a neighbor girl (no serious injury) and occasionally nips at ankles during walks, causing tension with our neighbors. His herding instincts lead him to nip when he feels anxious or threatened, but he has never directed this behavior towards his family. We would be heartbroken if we were forced to euthanize him, and the liability of that happening has become apparent. We want to find Cooper a loving home where he can thrive. Ideally, he would be best suited to a farm or rural setting. If you or someone you know can offer Cooper the right environment, please reach out. We have all his supplies, food, kennel, collar, leash, and bed.

Story
Now that we have started a family though, it has brought us more stress than we ever imagined. I use to be able to give a lot more attention to the dog, that I just can't do anymore. He is such a great trail dog and has done a lot of big mountains. He is super loyal to his people and can be protective. I would like to give him to someone who is super active outside and also great at training dogs or understands dogs really well.

Story
REPORTED BY FORMER OWNER:Ruca would benefit having a home where someone is there most of the time. She has lots of love to give! She would do best in a home that has a yard. She’s such a great dog! She’s smart and eager to please. She needs someone that can give her lots of love and play with her. She walks pretty well on the leash and knows the sit, lay, shake, high five and rollover commands. She’s house trained and crate trained. She’s friendly toward new people she meets. She has a medium to high energy level. She has never lived with children. OBSERVED BY SHELTER STAFF: Ruca is a sweetheart. We would love to see her get a home as soon as possible. The poor girl always looks to us with anticipation that she gets to leave and is so disappointed when she cannot. She has been neutral/friendly toward the cats here at the shelter and is uninterested/nervous around cats. Weighs 36 pounds; $25 to adopt.

Presenting the "Game of Bones Puppies" litter! Picture a pack of adorable pups, each with the heart of a direwolf and the loyalty of a sworn sword. From the mighty "Hound" who guards the food bowl with unwavering dedication to the graceful "Lady Stark" who commands attention with every elegant stride, these pups will steal your heart faster than you can say "Valar Morghulis." With tails wagging like banners on the battlefield, they'll embark on epic quests for treats and belly rubs, ensuring that the realm of your home is forever blessed with joy and wagging tails. Winter may be coming, but with these fluffy guardians by your side, you'll always be snug and safe in their furry embrace. We have fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. Due to Covid 19 restrictions all Meet & Greets have been cancelled to keep everyone safe. Our adoptable pets are in Houston living with local foster families making the transition into your household a whole lot easier. Our application review takes about 10 days.  This adoption process will require 3 videos of (outside of your home, backyard, and inside of your home) since we are not able to conduct home checks at this time. We will be calling 2 references (Not related to you please). We will be contacting your veterinarian (We work with 1st time owners) to make sure you have vaccinated all your pets yearly, and that all have been spayed/neutered. Our transport company leaves Houston every 2 weeks for Oregon, Idaho, Washington, Colorado & Canada. We will book your baby as soon as adoption & transport fees have been received.  If you have fallen madly in love and would like to make this baby part of your family, then go to https://www.petstablished.com/organization/920716    ##2059377##

Story
Jazz 605-809-5603This is Rico, he is a Tricolor Australian cattle dog mix. I adopted him around four months ago and thought things would work out, unfortunately due to certain situations I can`t have him here. He`s 7 years old, he`s potty trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside, he`s quiet and mellow. He`s a sweet boy who will follow you around just to see what your doing and such, he loves to get pets and will give you kisses and will put his paw on you if you stop petting him or to get your attention, he knows commands like sit and lay down. He does get along well with other dogs, not sure how he is with cats, I would not trust him around small children. I just want him to go to a good home that will give him the love and attention he needs.

Story
Hi, I am Shinzo: an 9.5 yr old, 70 lb male McNab mix. The first word that comes to mind when you see me is regal, being poised in my stature, walk and behavior, but you might catch me playfully hopping with my dog buddies. When we first meet I need a moment to stand back to check you out just to determine if you're friend or foe, but don't worry...I'm a love bug after I've made my decision and see that you are worthy. I get along great with the dogs in my foster house, and I am great with kids. (Sorry, I don't like cats though.) I prefer not to bark (even when others are) as I am too well-mannered, but I have a wonderful deep bark if needed. I already know how to use a doggy door and am completely trained to do my business outside. Unlike some of my herding friends, I'm not hyperactive. I do need room and time to exercise (wait till you see how good I am on a leash!) but I also enjoy a nice nap at your side. I might nudge you with my nose if I feel you're ignoring me, but you'll think it's super cute. Don't fret, this regal boy doesn't require a throne...just a home and family where I can show you what a perfect dog I am to love and to love you.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $100.
