Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Here’s the 411. I was cruising around the streets in Central Utah when the local Sheriff’s office decided that wasn’t a good thing. There was the old good cop/bad cop routine because I came into their holding pen packin’. I played along and answered their questions. Name: Olive M age: 2 1/2 yrs breed: Heeler/Hound mix (best guess) weight: 42 lbs. I wouldn’t give in to the question of how much I was packing, (I didn’t know!). The Sheriff knew I couldn’t stay and an arrangement was made for me to go to a rescue and that’s how I came to be with Rescue Rovers and my fosters. I’m so glad they took me in! I’m no longer packing pups; I delivered 6 beautiful pups and now I’m looking for my forever home. I’m house trained and walk well on a leash with the right collar. I’m timid with people I haven’t met but once I know & trust you I will be by your side and a good companion. I LOVE to play fetch! Being a submissive dog, a firm but gentle hand will do for me with encouragement to get me to follow your direction. My energy level is med-high. I need a home with children 8 and older because I’m unsure of younger kids; their movements are scary for me. I’m a hound mix and small animals are prey to me so no cats please!! If you think I’m the girl for you, apply to meet me https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 4:51 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi I am Briggs Stratton, nice to meet you! I am a two year old neutered 35 lb red heeler mix.   I am such a happy boy!  My foster pawrents don’t know what happened to me in my past, but I am fearful of new people. My foster pawrents have had me working with a dog trainer daily for the last couple of months. I’m one of those dogs that will love his people so much , but will most likely be a dog that will always need time to warm up to new people, including my new family. I am so ready for my forever home!  Training  will be required of my new family so I can continue to be the best dog I can be. My trainer tells me I am very smart, too smart, which means I pick up training quickly , but also that I pick up every bad habit quickly as well.    I will do best in a dog experienced home with knowledge of the  herding breed. An adult only home or home with older kids would be best for me. I have never met a cat, but because of my breed, I would most likely want a cat free home.    I am great on leash. I am crate and potty trained. I sleep in my crate, as well as stay in my crate for 8+ hours a day while my foster pawrents work.    I do well with other dogs , but would also do fine as a solo dog in my new home .   Besides my fear issue, I am a pretty mellow guy. My mom would give me a 5 on the energy level scale, but I do occasionally  get the zoomies.    A few things about me: —I am e-collar trained/continuous training as a reminder for me would be  required —Walk well on leash —Potty trained —Crate trained —No food or toy aggression —Loves dogs of all sizes     My favorite thing to do is roll around and lay on the grass. It feels so good!  I love splashing around in water. Just in case you didn’t know, the water bowl is not just for drinking.  I also love to sit by my foster mom so she can give me loves and hugs. It feels so nice to finally have someone to love me.    Please reach out to Rescue Rovers if you would like to meet me. https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 8:02 pm

Story
This little, spunky girl is Xena and she is ready to find her new forever family. She is a year old Heeler mix that is good with other dogs with a proper introduction and should be adopted to a home with another dog. Xena is nervous of new people when she first meets them and having another confident dog around helps her deal with her people anxiety better. Xena is an active girl that loves to go for walks, play with other dogs, and play in the water. She does well with respectful kids once she gets to know them. She does think cats are quite fun to chase so she shouldn't live with one. She is a very smart girl that loves to learn and would love someone to keep taking her to training to help her continue to build her confidence around new people and experiences. She is fully crate trained, house trained and has great house manners. Xena is available for adoption through Lorelei's Legacy . Story
Hi, I am Shinzo: an 10 yr old, 70 lb male McNab mix. The first word that comes to mind when you see me is regal, being poised in my stature, walk and behavior, but you might catch me playfully hopping with my dog buddies. When we first meet I need a moment to stand back to check you out just to determine if you're friend or foe, but don't worry...I'm a love bug after I've made my decision and see that you are worthy. I get along great with the dogs in my foster house, and I am great with kids. (Sorry, I don't like cats though.) I prefer not to bark (even when others are) as I am too well-mannered, but I have a wonderful deep bark if needed. I already know how to use a doggy door and am completely trained to do my business outside. Unlike some of my herding friends, I'm not hyperactive. I do need room and time to exercise (wait till you see how good I am on a leash!) but I also enjoy a nice nap at your side. I might nudge you with my nose if I feel you're ignoring me, but you'll think it's super cute. Don't fret, this regal boy doesn't require a throne...just a home and family where I can show you what a perfect dog I am to love and to love you.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $100. Story
Meet Oso, a 2-year-old mix with a complex genetic heritage including (per Embark DNA test) Australian Cattle, German Shepherd, Border Collie, American Pit Bull Terrier, Chow Chow, McNab, and Australian Shepherd. He's a charmer with an adorable underbite and a heart of gold. Oso gets along well with other dogs once introduced properly and is a cuddle enthusiast. Oso does carry emotional scars from his past, particularly regarding his interactions with men. Initial introductions require patience and gentleness to help him overcome his fear and build trust. Furthermore, Oso exhibits guarding tendencies around toys and treats. He has never bitten but he vocalizes his discomfort through barks and lunges. With consistent training and positive reinforcement, Oso is learning to share and coexist peacefully with his furry companions. His unique blend of breeds contributes to his intelligence and adaptability, making him a versatile & engaging companion.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. Story
Adopt River! This 5ish-year-old guy wants nothing more than to be snuggled by his people and give hugs. He has the best smile and is an absolutely delightful companion and the best work-from-home buddy. River will snooze at your feet during meetings, waking up occasionally to place his paw on your leg to check in. He is super quiet in the house and requires only a couple short walks a day. River loves to chew on bones and squeaky toys, sun himself in the backyard, and watch the world outside the front window. He enjoys the companionship of other dogs, but is not super playful with them. River is shy but friendly with people outside the house, but he isn't a big fan of new people inside his home. So if you're a bit of an introvert, too, and prefer to do your socializing outside the house, then River is the pup for you! And the good news is that he's perfectly happy to hang out quietly in his crate on the occasions you do have company. This guy very quickly won the hearts of his foster family, and he will win your heart, too. To meet River, please fill out an online application at http://caws.org/adoption-application.
