Story
PLEASE NOTE: Smoke Show is a very skittish puppy. While she has started to slowly warm up to staff, she will most definitely be scared in a new environment. When she first came here she was very barky and even a bit nippy, so please be patient with her as she adjusts to your home. Smoke Show was found near 800 W Washington St and never reclaimed. She is still very scared here at the shelter and not too fond of humans. She does accept treats from people's hands but will run to the back of her kennel once she has them. When she feels cornered, she does bark in fear. We are still trying to work with her to get her used to human interaction. She loves other dogs, but a meet and greet is always highly recommended with any current household dogs. She is treat motivated and has started to learn sit. She will need to be fed separately from other dogs as she is possessive over food and treats. She is a puppy and does potty in the crates. Any negative behaviors such as potting in the house and chewing on things will need to be trained out of her. Smoke Show has all her vaccinations, is spayed, and de-wormed. She is pending microchip. ECHS does not reserve adoptable animals for the public. Adoptions are first come first serve the day of availability. Please note that availability is subject to change at any point in time per ECHS discretion

Story
Guy was found as a stray and not reclaimed. Animal Control has dealt with him at his previous home and he does have a bite history. Because of this, we are recommending an adult only home and someone who has experience with dogs. Since being at the shelter, he has been very friendly and didn't take too long to open up to staff. He loves all attention and giving big old slobbery kisses. He gets excited when he sees people he likes. We do not know how he is with other dogs, and we always highly recommend a meet and greet with any current household dogs. He walks fairly well on a leash. He will not stay in a crate for very long, but has seemed to be potty trained while in his kennel. Guy is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention.

Story
Leelyn was adopted and returned due to having issues with the other dogs in the home. She is very people friendly and did great in her previous home with children. Leelyn is very energetic and doesn't like to stay still when she's got pent up energy. She is very vocal about her dislike of being kenneled but she will stay in a crate. She walks fairly well on a leash, and does well in a car. Leelyn knows "sit" and "shake." "lay down" and will even occasionally "roll over." She did well being brushed. It should be noted that while she is short haired, she sheds a lot. She cannot live in a home with other dogs or cats. She previously had a problem nipping when she was excited, but the last adopters did not say anything about her still having this issues when returned. At the shelter, she does not seem to get excited easily and lays down quietly when we are walking dogs in front of her kennel. She has a very strong prey drive and chases after cats and would more than likely chase after small animals and chickens. She is said to do well with larger livestock. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. She is heartworm negative and on prevention.

Story
Utah was found as a stray and not reclaimed. He is a sweet boy, but is terrified of the shelter environment and will try to bolt out of his kennel. He walks very well on a leash, but will try to run in overwhelming environments. He does seem to be kennel trained so he may be housebroken. He does not mind the dogs in the kennels next to him but has not been dog tested. Utah is fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is currently receiving de-wormer. He tested positive for heartworms and has begun the slow kill method for heartworms.

Story
Meet Zorro! Zorro is an energetic and enthusiastic 8-month-old heeler with a heart full of love and a spirit ready for adventure! Rescued from the hurricane-affected shelters in Georgia, Zorro is now on the lookout for his forever home. This handsome boy is not only neutered but also vaccinated and microchipped, making him ready to join your family. Zorro is a true heeler at heart, which means he thrives on activity and needs a job to keep him happy. He’s looking for an active owner who can match his energy and enthusiasm. Zorro would do best as the only dog or with a companion of similar size, as he prefers to be the star of the show! This charming pup is super friendly with his humans and loves to be around them. However, he won’t be happy in a small yard setting, so a home with plenty of space to run and play is essential for his well-being. Zorro is adoptable within a 5-hour radius of Granbury, TX, and his adoption fee is $200. Must have proof of heartworm prevention on current/past dogs. If you’re ready to take on the joy and excitement that Zorro brings, please fill out an application at www.scftx.org/adopt. Let’s find this amazing boy the loving home he deserves!

Story
Snow was found out in the county and not reclaimed, despite having a pretty recent spay scar. She is a friendly, energetic girl that has never met a stranger. We initially thought she was deaf, but she seems to respond to sounds only when she wants to. She loves all kinds of toys and will collect them onto her bed to play with. She is also a boredom chewer and will chew on shoes and anything she can get when left alone. She loves other dogs and will play with them as long as they want. We do always highly recommend a meet and greet with any current household dogs. She has not cat tested yet. She has been in two foster homes and they have both reported that she is potty trained. While she walks on a leash, she is a busy body and goes in all different directions. Snow has received her DHPP and Bordetella vaccines and is spayed. She is pending a heartworm test and microchip.
