Story
Hi, I'm Penny! Don't you think I'm a cutie? I may have had a rough start, but thanks to my rescuers, life is looking up! Now, all I need is a loving family to call my own. I'm a happy, healthy girl who's eager to learn and grow. Very Treat Motivated. With a little guidance, I'll be the best companion you could ask for. I love to play, ride in the car, and I'm great with kids. While I haven't met any cats yet, I'm open to new friends! As for other dogs, I get along with most, but it's always best to meet beforehand. Plus, I'm a pro on the leash and can't wait to explore the world with you on walks!

Story
Meet Zip & Zap Zip and Zap are a bonded pair of 2.5-year-old cattle dogs who are inseparable. You'll never find one without the other—they truly are the best of friends. Both have a strong herding instinct and love to explore their surroundings, making them the ideal companions for an active family. Zip is the larger of the two, weighing in at 45lbs with a bright coat and a heart full of affection. He's got a great temperament and bonds quickly with people. Zip loves attention and might get a little jealous when his sister gets some love, but he's never aggressive—just eager to share the affection. Zap, the 38lb female, is a beautiful dog with a unique double mask and a story to tell. After chewing on an electrical cable as a pup, her front teeth fused together, giving her a one-of-a-kind smile. She’s also got a couple of small scars from the incident that serve as reminders of her resilience. Despite her past, Zap is quick, intelligent, and just as affectionate as her brother. Zip and Zap are friendly with other dogs, however we are recommending that they be the only household pets, mainly because of their strong bond with each other. They are gentle and friendly enough to be in a home with kids who can properly respect their space, as with any dog. Both dogs were surrendered together and narrowly escaped euthanasia in a San Antonio shelter due to overcrowding. Now, they’re ready to find a forever home where they can share their love, loyalty, and zest for life. If you’re looking for a pair of devoted companions who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Zip and Zap are the perfect match.
We'll also keep you updated on Zap's adoption status with email updates.

Story
Howdy! I’m Winnie - the sweetest cattle dog in Central Texas! And I dare you to resist my sassy strut and wiggly tail nub! I’m a 6-7(ish) year old female Texas Heeler (that’s Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd if you were wondering). But don’t let my age fool you into thinking I act like a senior dog. I love playing tug and zooming around the yard with my foster brother! And afterward, I’m happy to chill with you on the sofa, or wherever you prefer to cuddle - because I LOVE a good cuddle with my humans! I’ve been with BCRRT since last year because when they found me, I was VERY pregnant and also heartworm positive. I was the best mama ever to 9 pups, but I’m happy to be retired from that and now I just play auntie to my kittty foster siblings - I’m great with them, as well as the chickens and any dogs or humans that I meet! I’m also crate trained and my foster mom says I’m a good girl on the leash and in the car. I'm all healthy now and ready to meet my furever humans. So if you’re ready to welcome all this charm and huggability into your home, apply to adopt at BCRRT.com

Story
Hello I'm Radar! Everyone always talks about my ears! I am a young adult and have some puppy energy. I love to chew on toys and I may need some help learning what is okay to gnaw on. I love to play with dogs and I love people! I would do best in a home with other dog friends to play with. I have spent most of my puppy life in a shelter so I am working on house training. I enjoy my crate and love to snack on some frozen kongs while you are out. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Radar is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.October 14, 2024, 10:13 pm

Story
Vienna is a gentle, sweet and loving blue heeler mix. She loves to snuggle at your feet and look lovingly into your eyes. She is great with other dogs but doesn’t want to play with them; if a dog is being too energetic in her face she does let them know with a nice little rumble. She is appropriately 6 years old. When found, Vienna had been living on the streets in rural Louisiana for over a year. Despite that difficult life, she is good with (older) children, though we’re unsure how she’ll respond to cats. She likes to go on short walks in the park and really enjoys watching other dogs play, even though she has no interest in joining them! Josi is a sweet almost 7 year old, 46 pound gal looking for a relaxed home. She would love a female owner with no children and no cats. She?d be fine in a home with a male, but bonds better with female humans Josi is looking for a calm environment where she can get belly rubs and relax. She is house/crate trained. Josi would do well as a solo pet or with a calm dog companion. She enjoys going for walks, zoomies in the backyard and watching tv. Josi is a low maintenance dog looking for the quiet life!October 14, 2024, 10:13 pm

Story
Hiya! My name is Callie and I am a 5-year-old Aussie/Lab mix. I've got lots going for me and can't wait to find a family I can adore fur-ever!! My foster momma is doing a great job loving me and I'll make.a fabulous addition to my new family!! I cam to the shelter after I'd been found laying in the street after getting struck by a car. Fortunately, I wasn't injured too severely and after a couple weeks to recoup, I've been good as new! My foster momma says I am laid back, happy and friendly. I love air conditioning, puppies, and treats. I am house and crate trained to boot! I am a little selective with my female adult doggie friends but so far, I haven't met a puppy or male dog I haven't liked. Oh... maybe I should tell you one last thing about me. The reason I probably got hit by a car is that I didn't know it was coming. My eyesight works great but my hearing doesn't I am deaf and since I didn't hear the car coming from behind me, I wasn't able to get out of the way in time. But that sure doesn't stop me from loving life! Contact the shelter and they'll put you in touch with my foster mom and she'll tell you how awesome I am!!
