**Killeen TX** Saffie is a small girl and so very very soft, a fact you notice immediately because she loves to snuggle. She is a very playful dog, good in a crate, likes her squeaky toys and enjoys the kiddy pool also. She's shown here playing with her foster brother and just having a good time. Saffie is about a year old, spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines and ready for a forever family. We don't know how she is with cats and do not generally recommend heelers be adopted to homes that have them. To potentially meet or adopt Saffie please fill out an application on our website irescuehomelesspets dot org under the adopt tab.

Story
Boone is a 13 year old Senior dog who still acts like a puppy at heart. He is a rescue from a Vet Clinic who took him in from his original owner after found in terrible condition after possibly being caught in a fence which resulted in several of his teeth that needed to be pulled. He can still eat his food just fine, but appreciates it with some warm water is added to soften it up. He loves to play fetch with a tennis ball or toy. He gets along with most dogs and cats, and enjoys companionship. Due to living in an apartment with several other animals, he isn’t getting the special attention he deserves, and would love to have a backyard of his own again. He is truly a special dog that craves love!

Story
AUSTIN METRO AREA ADOPTIONS ONLY Happy-go-lucky GUS! Gus is a gentle soul. He is a possible heeler mix with a husky blend (?) that was rescued from a rural kill shelter. He grew up in our rescue's ranch, first as a puppy and now he is a young adult. Please, please do not pass him by. He prefers non-dominant play mates and the ladies are his favorite ("wink"). He still acts like a puppy, as he loves to come up to you for pats and snuggles. Look at his million watt smile!! He is so happy just to be near people and he is eager to please. He LOVES treats and this is just great, as he is definitely food-motivated and will be easier to train. He will need an active family who will take him on walks and runs. One who does not mind brushing up on his training, as he is used to being in a kennel environment, running around with the other rescued dogs. But we want him to thrive with his own snuggly bed, home, and a human family. He may need some more leash training but he is smart and willing. A fenced backyard will be great, as he is happiest exploring and chasing squirrels. Gus’s adoption fee of $350.00 includes his Vet exam, current vaccinations, heart worm test, preventative, fecal test, wormer, neuter and microchip.
