Born 5/6/2024, they are at the perfect age to join a loving family. Puppy kisses, cuddles and playtime are awaiting! Bursting with curiosity, Nectar loves exploring the world and learning new things. So very smart and eager to please! Trains easily and picks up on commands quickly. Whether it is playing with toys, running around the yard, or just lounging with their favorite human, he is always ready for fun or a cozy cuddle. Athletic and laid-back, Nectar quickly bonds to anyone he meets, spreading happiness with his joyful personality. You’re sure to fall in love! Four of the 14 are still available. Story
From Chip's foster mom: We helped take care of Bea’s litter as they were growing up, and my son and I often referred to the sable boys as “The Chipmunks”. So when Busy joined us - and his two sisters we had adopted - we started calling him Chip! Chip was born May 6, 2024. He is 50% Australian Cattle Dog, 25% collie and 25% a mix of other breeds. He is up to date on vaccines, HW negative and soon to be neutered and weighs around 40 lbs. Chip is a sweet, sensitive soul. It’s hard not to adopt him ourselves! He takes some time to warm up, but once he knows he is safe, he’s in your arms in no time. He enjoys sitting with us on the back porch and watching the other dogs play, observing the chickens, ducks, and goats in the back of the property, and taking it all in. He’ll also climb in our laps on the couch. He has been started on loose leash walking and basic manners. He is very food motivated, and loves to carry around toys. Chip is willing to try new things, with lots of encouragement and a slow, steady pace. He is crate trained, and only takes a short time to settle in. He does need to eat his dinner out of a slow feeder bowl otherwise he is quite the fast eater! He has started getting accustomed to having his nails dremeled when on the grooming table. Chip would do best in a home with a confident but friendly and mild mannered dog (male or female), or be the only dog. He has a tendency to want all of the attention to himself and has occasionally let the other dogs in his foster home know that he wants left alone while he gets attention. I would not suggest he be around cats or small animals, as he has shown quite an interest in our Chinchilla and the outdoor cats. I would recommend him with kids over 10, as he will jump to get attention (we’re still working on that!) and his nervousness in new situations. When he gets nervous he just belly flops or “puts on the brakes”. He is motivated to move by positive words and especially tidbits of food. Chip doesn’t love car rides since he still gets a little carsick, but if his human is going - I’m sure he’d be happy to tag along to quiet places. Chip is looking forward to settling in with his lifelong family! Will this sweetheart be your match? Apply at HoustonCollieRescue.org

Oh my goodness! This guy has turned out to be such a cutie. Arlo is a total character who will keep you laughing. Arlo was tied up behind an H&#226&#128&#145E&#226&#128&#145B for over 12 hours. Nobody knows how or why but thank goodness a Good Samaritan saw him and took him home. Arlo is an Australian shepherd mix about 3-4 years old. He weighs right around 40 pounds. He has the absolute cutest prance, a HUGE SMILE, and absolutely loves his “puppy massage” Arlo is up to date on vaccines and is neutered. Sadly he is heartworm positive but Scout’s Honor Rescue will cover the cost of his slow kill treatment. If interested in adopting or fostering Arlo please fill out the appropriate application and we will be in touch right away. November 19, 2024, 3:24 pm

Story
If you would like more information about Izzie or are interested in adopting her, please send an email to ncrichton99@att.net or contact this number, 832 647-4326 I came back to work from lunch to find a goofy, wiggle-worm puppy (1 yr. old) in the middle of a busy street in the Galleria area. After much barking and lots of treats, she succumbed to being rescued. She has been thoroughly checked out and is in good health, weighs about 38 pounds. We have given her all the necessary shots. She is very strong, energetic and sweet—I named her Izzie. She loves to be with people and does very well with kids, although she would be a bit too much for babies and crawlers. She kind of tolerates the cat on my front porch who hisses at her every morning. Izzie looks just like and has the temperament of an Australian Koolie herding dog. She is easily trained and a good watchdog. She loves to play keep away and does zoomies around my backyard. Because she is such a high energy dog, she would do well in agility, fly ball, Frisbee, dock diving or as a dancing dog. She has been coming to work with me to play non-stop with the thundering herd of Goldendoodles, a Bernadoodle, and a Pittie mix. Unfortunately, I am not able to keep Izzie because my dog, a Black Mouth Cur, has issues with other dogs. There are some free-roaming chickens on my street—Izzie just looks at them as we walk on by. Izzie did not come with any training to speak of but now she is house trained and walks by my side with a gentle leader (she doesn’t like the leader but walks like a pro with it). She sits and waits for me to release her when I put her food down. The commands she knows, some better than others, are: go back, wait, sit. She acts like a goofball when I try to dry her wet paws thus the “Dizzy” Izzie. She is kennel trained and sleeps through the night in the kennel. During Hurricane Beryl she was fine with the loud thunder, lightning and hurling wind. Even when a huge limb fell and put a hole in my roof, we all winced but were good. Izzie rarely wears out so she would be happiest with someone who will keep her busy and entertained. Izzie is a delightful, very happy pup who so deserves a great home!
