Story
We call her Orphan Annie since we found her abandoned on a hiking trail. Sort of amazing now that we have gotten to know her and that she stayed in one place long enough to be rescued.Annie is probably a Stubby Tail Cattle Dog, very much an Australian Cattle Dog with an emphasis on being active and engaged. Annie is typical of the herding breed, meant to nip at others to direct where to go. For this reason, she would not be good in a home with young children and is the kind of girl who needs a job.Annie loves being active and into everything. She usually has two speeds, sleeping, and full blast; unless she is one-on-one with her human when she is totally engaged. She is smart and would be a terrific girl to train for just about any high activity - herding, agility, anything that keeps her thinking and able to get praise for doing the right thing. This beautiful, compact girl will give back 200 percent and is capable of complex tasks; high endurance and willingness to please. If you need a working companion to be part of your everyday life you could not find a better match. She is fully vetted, microchipped, spayed, and current with her flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
This adorable litter of pups was found in the woods shortly after Christmas. They were taken in for safe keeping and the family who found them reached out to LHS for assistance placing them in their forever homes.  These puppies are  all working on their house training and crate training. Because they are just pups, they will need a home with the time and patience to teach them how to be the best doggies they can be. Because they are a herding breed, they are not recommended to be adopted to homes with small children as they will herd the children instinctively and many miss interpret this as nipping and or aggressive behavior. But in reality, it is what they are bred to do. They do wonderful with cats and dogs and all shapes and sizes.   Their adoption fee includes their spay/neuter (completed at 4 months of age), 3 sets of vaccinations, rabies, first dose of heartworm prevention, dewormer, microchip and microchip registration. If you are interested in adopting this adorable pup, please complete an online application today at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap. DOB: 11/26/24 Weight: 10 lbs as of 1/22 Approx 55 lbs when full grown   We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Story
Meet Scout City: The Handsome Hound Looking for His Forever Home! Introducing Scout City, our nearly five-year-old hound mix who's ready to find a loving forever home. Weighing in at a sturdy 87 pounds, Scout is a handsome and friendly boy who has faced a lot in his life but remains full of love and loyalty. Scout was born in our care in 2019 after his mom was brought to the shelter. Sadly, his mom couldn't leave the shelter due to protocol and contracted distemper, leaving Scout as the sole survivor of his litter. Adopted as a puppy, Scout's journey took a tough turn when he was abandoned by his adopter at the shelter following a breakup. Since then, Scout has been living in boarding, waiting patiently for his chance at a stable, loving home. Scout can be a little timid in new situations, but once he relaxes, his whole face lights up with joy. He loves toys and treats, and his happy-go-lucky nature makes him a delightful family dog. Scout does well with other dogs and enjoys both playing with canine friends and having quiet time by himself. This speckled dude is one of our favorites. He's a large, good-looking guy with a heart full of love to give. Although he has some separation anxiety, Scout's friendly disposition and desire to be a loyal companion make him a wonderful addition to any family willing to give him the time and understanding he needs. Scout is looking for a forever home where he can finally experience the stability and love he deserves. If you're searching for a loving, playful, and loyal companion who will bring joy to your life, Scout is your guy. Adopt Scout City today and give him the forever home he's been dreaming of! All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at http://dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Meet Fella: The Distinguished Gentleman with a Goofy Side! Say hello to Fella, our big, beautiful, and well-marked boy who's always ready for a game of fetch! At seven years old and weighing in at a solid 80 pounds, Fella is quite the distinguished gentleman. He's got a heart full of love and a playful spirit that will bring endless joy to your life. Fella is all about that ball life-he loves to play until your arm hurts! He knows all his basic commands and works well on a leash, making him a delight to take on walks and adventures. With a few treats and some minutes, he'll entertain you with rollovers, shakes, and quickly learn new tricks. This sweet-faced boy, with his adorable freckles, is well-behaved and gets along with other dogs and people. While he's not a fan of cats, Fella is all about making human friends, even if he plays it cool at first. Underneath his reserved exterior, you'll find a goofy side and a loyal heart that will warm up to you in no time. Making new dog friends isn't always easy for Fella, as his big, strong presence can be a bit intimidating at first. However, he's lived in a home with other dogs before being surrendered to the shelter, and with proper introductions and decompression, he would do great as part of a pack. Fella loves car rides, enjoys good walks, and is a fantastic hiker and runner. He recently went in for photographs and made himself right at home in the studio, showcasing his love for belly rubs and the comfort of a home. Fella is looking for a foster or adopter who can promise to be a good friend to him, and he promises to be a sweet, loyal companion. If you're looking for a distinguished gentleman with a playful side, Fella is your guy. Adopt or foster Fella today and let this charming boy become a beloved member of your family! All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Story
Howdy! I’m Winnie - the sweetest cattle dog in Central Texas! And I dare you to resist my sassy strut and wiggly tail nub! I’m a 6-7(ish) year old female Texas Heeler (that’s Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd if you were wondering). But don’t let my age fool you into thinking I act like a senior dog. I love playing tug and zooming around the yard with my foster brother! And afterward, I’m happy to chill with you on the sofa, or wherever you prefer to cuddle - because I LOVE a good cuddle with my humans! I’ve been with BCRRT since last year because when they found me, I was VERY pregnant and also heartworm positive. I was the best mama ever to 9 pups, but I’m happy to be retired from that and now I just play auntie to my kittty foster siblings - I’m great with them, as well as the chickens and any dogs or humans that I meet! I’m also crate trained and my foster mom says I’m a good girl on the leash and in the car. I'm all healthy now and ready to meet my furever humans. So if you’re ready to welcome all this charm and huggability into your home, apply to adopt at BCRRT.com

These pups are in Fairview, Texas too!
