Story
Winston is a delightful young pup, likely a mix of border collie and Australian shepherd, who is currently between 10-11 months old and weighing in at a medium-sized 40 pounds. With a beautiful coat that features a speckled pattern of black, white, grey, and tan, including striking tan eyebrows, Winston has a wonderfully unique and handsome appearance. His medium-length fur is soft and silky, adding to his cuddly appeal. Though still working on perfecting his potty training, Winston is already proving to be an excellent companion on the leash, walking calmly and obediently without issue. While he may not love being confined to his crate, he settles down nicely once inside and doesn't cry out excessively. Winston has a wonderfully social and friendly demeanor, getting along great with other dogs, even if he can occasionally be a bit of a pushover and let himself be bullied. He's also very well-behaved around the household chickens, showing no desire to bother them in their pen. He's learning some new tricks as well, like how to shake. With children, Winston is gentle and affectionate, though his enthusiastic jumping can be a bit much at times. He does much better when kept on a leash in their presence, allowing his loving nature to shine through without the jumping. Winston does struggle with some anxiety, particularly around cars and new environments, but he is working hard to overcome these fears with the support of his caring family. He has a tendency to bark at passersby, but has never shown any real aggression. In fact, his barking seems more out of a desire for attention than anything else. Overall, Winston is an incredibly sweet, smart, and trainable pup who is sure to make an excellent addition to any family. He loves walks, hikes, fetch, and simply spending quality time with his people, and he has a particularly strong affinity for children. While he may do best with just one other dog in the home, as he can sometimes be overwhelmed, Winston craves constant human interaction and would not thrive as an outdoor-only pet. With his eagerness to learn and please, Winston is quickly mastering commands like sit and down, and he walks beautifully on the leash. Though he has some lingering anxieties to work through, his loving, gentle nature shines through in every interaction, and all who meet him can't help but fall for his charming personality.

Story
This young Blue Heeler mix came to my door October 23, 2024. I thought she escaped from a neighbor’s yard. I posted her picture on Facebook and Nextdoor but no response. I had her scanned, no chip. I will continue to care for her until she’s gone to a good home. She’s sweet, I think less than a year old, she gets excited when she sees me and wiggles around me until she’s petted and then gets still and relaxed. I said “sit” and she did quickly (she got a treat for that). I think she would make a good working cattle dog or just a great pet. She’s already started protecting my house. She’s trying to be friends with my two feral cats despite them scratching her. She’s a love.
