Story
UPDATE 9/11/23. TILLIE HAS JUST GRADUATED FROM BOARD AND TRAIN! She played with at least 5 dogs there, knows her commands, and is ready for her forever home! Tillie is VERY active and would be best suited with another doggie playmate in her new home. OR perhaps someone who would like to train with her for agility or some other event. Tillie is exceptionally smart! PRECIOUS TILLIE!! LOOK AT THOSE EARS!!!!! Tillie is a medium sized dog and weighs approximately 37 pounds. She is an Australian cattle dog mix, 9 months old, spayed, current on vaccinations and on heartworm preventative. She is also microchipped. Tillie was out of time at a local shelter and we just HAD to get her! SMART!! SMART!! And LOVES to play fetch with you. Here is a video of her with her "big stick" which she alternates with her "Tillie Ball". She has a lot of playing to do and a lot of love to learn about. Tillie will need an active family that will make her a real part of their family and take her with them where they are able. For more information, please email Gail at can.adoptions@yahoo.com.

Mickey is looking for a loving foster home to help him recover while he is receiving medical treatment. Foster Reason: Upper Respiratory Infection (URI) Foster Time Frame: 2 Weeks (The foster time frame could be longer depending on future medical results and needs.) Foster Care Plan: Mickey is currently being treated for an upper respiratory infection, which is similar to a common cold. Since he may be contagious to other pets, we strongly recommend keeping him in a separate, dedicated space such as a spare bathroom or bedroom until he has fully recovered. He will go to his foster home with medication (Doxycycline), and once his treatment is complete, he`ll be ready for surgery/adoption. Foster to Adopt: Mickey is available through our Foster to Adopt program, which allows pets awaiting or undergoing medical treatment to be placed with prospective adopters before they are made available for adoption. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please visit https://www.operationkindness.org/foster/ or email us at foster@operationkindness.org to learn more.

Blue Heeler Australian Cattle Dog

Female, 1 yr 11 mos

Story
Chili is a heeler mix who was found wandering out and about by a Good Samaritan. When this kind soul offered Chili a ride, she never looked back and away they went! Chili's new friend really wanted to keep Chili, but her dog had other ideas and it soon became clear that Chili would do better in another home. Chili is microchipped and attempts were made to contact her original owner, but that person never responded. We suspect that's because Chili is deaf. However, she's also smart as a whip and eager to please. Her foster mom has been able to teach Chili many commands using sign language and would be happy to share what she knows with any potential adopter. Chili is playful and silly and loving and would be a great addition to any family that has a little time and patience to continue her training. She's been around lots of older kids at a riding stable, where she spends her days, and has been well-mannered with all of them. She has a couple of dog buddies, too, but kitties aren't her thing. Chili is happy and healthy and would love to live her best life with someone like you. Please consider opening your heart and home to this beautiful puppy who has so much to offer. You'll be glad you did. For more information, please TEXT Mary at 214-783-2060 and she'll call you back!

Story
Duke is a loving guy who weighs just under 70lbs.  He is a sweetheart.  Shy at first but once he opens his heart, he will totally capture yours! His playfulness and energy does not show his age.  He's still got all the pep in his step and loves to play!  Tug of War is his favorite game.  He loves to chase balls and zoom around the yard like a puppy at times.  Duke loves sunbathing, walks great on a leash and does well in the car.  Snacks are definately one of his favoritest things ever. Duke is crate trained, potty trained, knows basic commands and even does well getting his nails done and visiting the vet.He is very treat and toy motivated and it brings him much joy to make his humans happy! NO CATS or small animals for Duke please.  He does well with other, friendly dogs with slow introduction.  He can have intense, playful energy but for the right dog, would make a great companion.  Duke would also be more than happy being the only pet in the home.  Duke prefers older (if any) children.  The "chaos" that sometimes comes with smaller children in a home, make him nervous and he will try to get away from them.  He does great with older or more experienced children. He loves to share the bed with his people, and will always let you know if there is a stranger at the gate or someone at the door!  Duke is big, strong and often clumsy, but he is also a love and a joy to spend time with. He is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.  Duke is heartworm negative and on ProHeart 12 for heartworm prevention. He is totally set until November 2025! If you're interested in meeting Duke or would like to learn more about him, please visit our website or submit an application for adoption!  http://www.MarleighsFriends.org/ ##1177850##
