Story
This attractive girl is Bella, a mixed breed surrendered on 11/19 to the Mesquite Animal Shelter. Reason given for the surrender is that the owners are moving. Bella weighs 58 pounds and is about 2 years old. Owner stated that she lived inside and was good with their children ages 9, 11, and 16. She met me at the kennel door with happy tail wags, and walked nicely on a leash to the yard. In the yard I noted that she was restless, pacing, occasionally whining, and looking out the gate into the parking lot. I really feel as though she was looking for her people to come back to pick her up and take her home. It was heartbreaking to observe this behavior. She is uneasy in the shelter. She was not interested in the toys, balls or treats I offered her. Bella was friendly with me and allowed me to pet her. But again, her focus was on wanting out of the shelter and back with her people. Do you have place in your heart and home for this sweetheart? Would you allow her to live inside, stay committed to her and give her plenty of TLC?

Story
Isn’t Bo adorable? His alluring eyes will draw you in to him. He’s got a cute face and a fluffy tail. Bo is a two year-old 43 pound Australian cattle dog that was brought into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 12/19. I was met in his kennel with tail wags and joyous exuberance. He’s very alert. He investigated the yard thoroughly. He sits for treats and takes them gently. He wants to be real close. He’s an extrovert, active, happy, sweet, and friendly. He wagged his tail when meeting other dogs …almost like a welcome wagon. He did his business in the yard and he walked well on a leash. What more can I say ? Well, I’ll say he’s a real sweetheart and would do real well with an active family. He told me he wants to be an inside dog so he can have more time to love on his family.

Story
Meet Mya: The Loyal, Loving, and Intelligent Companion You’ve Been Waiting For!Mya, also known as MyMy, is a stunning 6-year-old dog who will steal your heart with her smarts, love of cuddles, and quirky charm. She’s an affectionate, well-behaved, and deeply loyal girl ready to find her forever family.About Mya:• Housetrained: 100%! She’ll whine at the door if she needs to go out.• Crate Trained: Her crate is her safe space, but she panics if locked in when left alone. She’s trustworthy outside of the crate when home alone.• Non-Destructive: Mya never chews on furniture or belongings, but she can’t resist a trash bin unless it has a baby lock on it!• Quiet Companion: While she barked from anxiety initially when she got to the new home, she’s now quiet and content once comfortable in her home.• Commands Known: Sit, wait, come, and crate—Mya listens exceptionally well. Her Perfect Day:Mya loves a mix of leisurely naps and adventures! She adores car rides (they’re her absolute favorite) and goes to work with her foster dad every day. She’s a big foodie who’s always ready for a pup cup or peanut butter treat, and after a nice walk or hike, she’s happy to snuggle up for a long, cozy nap.On the foster’s farm, Mya doesn’t bother the goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, or even the neighbor’s horses. She would do great on a farm and enjoys peacefully exploring fenced areas or staying close to her people in open spaces.Compatibility:• Dog Friendly: We believe Mya would do fine with a submissive male dog in the home, but needs food and treats kept separate to avoid resource guarding. She’s great with all dogs outside of her home. She’s just had issues with the dominant female in her current home and they’ve gotten into it a few times, so that’s the only reason why she needs a new home. • Cat Friendly: Yes! She mostly ignores them, but might sniff them when curious.• Kid Friendly: Best with older kids who respect her space. She gets nervous with hugging or crawling, so no small children.Temperament & Activity LevelMya is a calm, medium-energy girl who enjoys sniffing around the yard and occasional bursts of playful energy. She’s leash-trained, making her a great walking, hiking, or even running partner. She’s not much of a player—she prefers staying by her person’s side rather than chasing toys—but every once in a while, she’ll chase her foster sister around.Quirks & Needs:• Collars: Mya dislikes wearing collars, possibly due to a history with shock collars and the occasional hot spots she gets from them, but she’s fine with them during walks. She may do better with a harness. • Men: She can be wary of unfamiliar men in her home and needs proper corrections if she becomes reactive. She’s fine with men outside the home.• Fenced Yard: A fenced yard would be ideal for her to explore and relax without her people worrying about her running off before she’s comfortable in her new home. Once she’s comfortable, she’s not going anywhere her people aren’t close to!• Human Connection: Mya thrives on companionship and needs a home where she can be included in daily life. She’s happiest with someone who works from home or takes her along for adventures (including work outside of the home). What Makes Mya Special?Mya is extraordinarily smart—her trainer ranks her among the most intelligent dogs he’s ever worked with. She’s also one of the most affectionate and cuddly dogs you’ll meet, once she trusts you. Her DNA test shows she’s a mix of 31% Australian Cattle Dog, 20% Great Pyrenees, 8% Labrador Retriever, 8% Chow Chow, and smaller percentages of 15 other breeds. She listens attentively, loves being part of the family, and has a gentle, calm presence. Her combination of loyalty, intelligence, and snuggly nature makes her a one-of-a-kind companion.Ideal Home for MyaMya would thrive in a calm, loving home with older kids or just adults. She needs a family willing to include her in their day-to-day activities and shower her with the affection and reassurance she craves. She’d do well as the only dog or maybe with a submissive male companion in the home.Mya is spayed, heartworm negative (has been tested), current on monthly heartworm & flea/tick prevention, up to date on basic vaccines, microchipped, and has had a fecal negative test. If you’re ready to give Mya the loving, stable forever home she deserves, she’ll repay you with endless loyalty, cuddles, and companionship. ##2274635##

Story
I am a %100 Disabled American Veteran. I had a Service Dog for 10 years. He passed away on Christmas Eve. I have a puppy that is training to do his job. I have some serious health issues and I have a total of 5 dogs. Shad O is way too high energy for me and it is disrupting my health issues and causing me a hard time with training the puppy. Shad O is a great dog. He loves to cuddle. He is great with kids, other dogs, cat curious. He is very energetic and needs a home with another dog or kids so that his energy needs get met. I was hoping that he goes with the service dog program that gave me this website. Shad O is 11 months old, neutered and shots updated and microchipped. He is house trained and potty trained. He really needs a home ASAP, as I don't know how much longer I will be able to physically and mentally be able to keep him

Story
These beauties were abandoned near my mom's house and my mom does not have time to care for her due to her work schedule nor the financial capacity to support her. I do not live near my mom and we cannot give her the time and care she deserves. We love animals but we also want what is best for them. They are have very sweet demeanors and play well together. They do not have to be adopted together. There is a separate application for each of them. We do not want to accept any fee or compensation. We only want to find her a nice home.

Story
Lucy came to us as an owner surrender. Sadly, she was never spayed and kept having litter after litter.  We agreed to take the puppies as long as they gave us Lucy as well. We wanted her to finally have a home where she could be a cherished pet. Lucy is an extremely sweet and happy girl. She gets along with dogs of all sizes, cats and she adores children. She is in great shape! Our vet thought she was only 3 years old because her teeth are pearly white. However,  Lucy is 9 years young We think she would be a fabulous companion to a lucky human.  ##1622253##
