Meet Marjorie! Marjorie is a beautiful brindle pit bull mix, about 42 pounds, at 2 years old, and is so deserving of a forever home! She has been through a lot in her short life including being a wonderful mama to a 9-pup litter in the fall of 2023 around the time she was rescued by Saving Hope, plus overcoming heartworms and a bad respiratory virus that nearly took her life. Marjorie is stronger and healthier than ever now; her puppies found homes, now she is eagerly waiting for hers!She does wonderfully in her crate at night and during the day when her foster mom is at work. As she is not destructive, once she is settled into her forever home (generally 3 weeks to 3 months depending on the dog), she can be left out of her kennel. As with so many dogs, she is naturally nervous in new situations, and thus needs continued work on building confidence. She thrives with clear direction from her person and positive feedback when she does the right thing – she tries her very best to follow all the rules! She has the cutest tippy-tap dance when excited, waiting for a treat, or when she’s working on a skill.While there are no children in her current foster home, she loves everyone and would likely do well with children 10+ as she appreciates her space being respected and a calm household would help her adjust faster.Marjorie loves nothing more than to keep busy managing squirrels and lizards in the yard. This is her main energy outlet currently, so a backyard would be ideal. She needs at least a 6-foot tall fence when off leash because this girl is athletic… anyone want an agility dog? She might be it! She exhibits prey drive tendencies so cats, small dogs or other small animals are not a good fit. She takes breaks to sunbathe and would be content to do this nonstop, but she listens well when it’s time to come inside.Marjorie is threshold trained and is working on leash skills for walks using a prong collar and cues/guidance to walk alongside her human. She gets excited at the sight of other creatures but will sit on command until her person is ready to go. When it’s time to rest, she is very respectful of furniture but if she is invited up, she will be more than happy to cuddle.Marjorie is very quiet unless she is barking at a squirrel or playing with her foster brother, who she has become quite close to (a boxer/pit bull mix). Nutmeg is approximately 4 years old and is a red heeler mix. He is always happy and gets along with other dogs and currently lives in a household with a cat. He is moderately playful and willing to follow other dogs leads. Because of his herding instinct he does nip at strangers that come on his turf. We aren't sure how he is with small children but believe he will do well with older ones. Nutmeg is housetrained, neutered and current on his vaccines. He doesn't like being in a crate so is loose in the house or outside. We feel he would be fine in a one dog family providing his human(s) has the desire and plenty of time to spend with him. A home visit is part of his adoption process so he is available for adoption in the immediate DFW area only. Gonzo is the sweetest snuggliest dog I have ever met. She is patient and great with kids. Her birthday is 10/6/2020. We have had her since she was 11 weeks old. She loves to watch TV, but thinks it is real. She is crate trained and potty trained. She knows several tricks and is a quick learner. She likes to play fetch. She is a great walker. She likes to run on leash with my daughter on her scooter. She is a pure bred Texas Lacy, with papers. We got her from the Blue Lacy breeder who literally wrote the book on Blue Lacy Dogs. She was the runt of the litter —currently 40lb —which is pretty small for her breed. She loves people, she wants to please them, but she insists on a belly rubs and snuggles. She loves soft small toys to play with and chew. She cannot, cannot, cannot be with other dogs. So, no dog park or other house dogs. We want to keep her forever, but she must be an only dog. She has not spent time with cats, but was pretty scared of them at the vets office.

Hello, this is Miles, a 5-year-old double merle Australian Shepherd. He is deaf. He is the most loving, cuddly dog you will ever meet. He loves sitting in laps and just being next to people. He also gets along great with dogs. While the last time he was around a cat was around 2 years ago so I am not sure how he would react now. However, when he did see cats, he did not have any reaction to it. Unfortunately, I will not be able to keep my dear Miles due to relocation. I move on the 5th of February and will have to have him out by the 4th. All of his stuff including cage, toys, leash, and more will be included with him. I am not looking for money. I just want him to be in a nice home and to be happy. He is full bred and I got him from the shelter when he was 8 months old. He is crate trained, potty trained, knows hand signals, up-to-date on all his shots, neutered, and overall a great dog. He would be a great addition to the family.
