Story
Meet Josie! Josie is a stinkin cute cattle dog mix born roughly 1/8/21. She came to us like many others as a stray who was never claimed, but that never slowed Josie down one bit. From the get-go, Jojo has been the peppiest, friendliest, happiest pup around. She is all enthusiasm and joy, and has the gift of adding a little sunshine to anyone's day. Josie loves a lot of things, but by far her favorite thing is being outside. Going for walks? That's her jam. Running the play yard? Josie is on it! This girl would be the best hiking and exploration buddy around, or the perfect pup to run the yard with some kids. Josie also does well with other dogs, but as always we require a meet and greet if you already have any at home. She has not yet been tested with cats. Josie is fully vetted and microchipped, but not yet spayed. Her adoption fee is $175 + a refundable $75 spay deposit.  Interested? Call us at 615-446-7387 ##1899702##

Story
Meet Domino! Hey ya'll, I'm Domino! I am spunky, happy, fun, and did I mention adorable? I'm some sort of heeler mix, and I was born around the end of 2021. I weigh about 50lbs, but in my head I'm just a little guy! I love making friends, but I'm also totally happy to just have a close friend or two I spend most of my time with. I came to the shelter after this guy in a uniform picked me up one day, it was really scary! I didn't want anything to do with these people who cleaned my kennel for a few days, but after they kept bringing me treats and toys, I gave in and decided I liked them after all. I can still be a little slower to trust brand new faces, but bring me a tennis ball and we can be besties for sure! I also like having other dogs around, but I need to meet them before I agree to live with them. I'm not really a big fan of cats, so a family without them is better for me.  Domino is fully vetted and microchipped, but not yet neutered. His adoption fee is $175+ a refundable $75 neuter deposit. Interested? Call 615-446-7387.  ##1908085##

Story
Please contact Vivienne (viviennejames@comcast.net) for more information about this pet.Meet Miss Princess!  This 8 year old 30 lbs gem had a horrible life prior to joining the Cavalry.  She was part of a hoarding case where the family had way too many dogs and could not properly take care of them.  Because of this Princess and her doggie family ended up in a rural Tennessee shelter.  She was a thin has could be and very weak.  Miss Cheryl and her mom Ruth felt sorry for her and decided to rescue her.  An immediate trip to the vet was scheduled.  Princess was diagnosed with long term untreated diabetes.  This was the reason she was so thin.  What a sham that no one noticed the symptoms but them.  Poor Princess almost died.  Her vet was truly amazed that she lived.  Her diabetes is now under control and she has gained weight.  Princess is one of the sweetest dogs ever.  She is a true love bug and so very grateful for the love and care she has received.  She is thriving and would make someone a great pet.  Unfortunately as a result of the diabetes Princess has limited vision.  She is amazing though.  After she gets the 'lay of the land' you would never know it.  She does not bump into things and can navigate stairs up and down.  It truly is amazing.  She is a very loving dog who just wants to be with her people.  If you want a canine shadow then she is the one for you.  Despite her lack of vision, Princess enjoys walking and you would never know her sight is limited.  She is a dog that you could take any where.  Princess loves to ride in the car an is always up for a trip just about any where.  She has been on several with her foster family.  She is housebroken and crate trained.  She is also trained to sit patiently snacking on a baby carrot when it is shot time.  The distraction of the carrot does the trick so giving the insulin shot is not a problem.  She is good with other dogs her size and age but not young rambunctious puppies or dogs.  She would also be fine as an only dog.  She would be happy to soak up all the attention.  If you would like to give a home to a wonderful special needs dog, Princess is the one for you.  To be considered for her forever family please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net.  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.  July 2, 2024, 7:01 am

Story
Critter Cavalry Rescue is trying to help several dogs like Lyla out of a small rural shelter that is cramped and hard on the spirit of the kind of dog like Lyla.  She came to the shelter as an owner surrender forced by the animal control of the shelter.   She and her sister were being crated 24.7 just about and this was negligent and cruel.  She has been in this little shelter for almost 3 months now and her Blue Heeler spirit is just being stifled to get out and have some time to roam a yard, go for a fun run of fetch the ball or just be sleeping on a soft cozy dog bed at your feet.  It is just hard on the spirit when these dogs are stashed away and unnoticed and very little attention except to feed them.  She is 1-2 years old and 38 pounds.  Shas is mostly Heeler from what we can tell but on the darker side and she is warm and friendly but cautious too because of the confinement she has experienced.  Help us if you love the breed or love rescuing and fostering or even adopting.  She is fully vetted and ready to go!  Email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   It is time to free Lyla! Story
Our handsome boy is called Blue Sully and he is as nice and easy going as his name.  He came from a situation where he and two other Heelers were dropped off in the country near a man’s home in Tennessee.  He kept them fed and watered for several weeks and then realized he just could not feed and care for  (they all needed to be spayed and neutered and more) these  3 sweet dogs and so he delivered them to the local small town shelter.  What great dogs they are too!   Blue Sully is one year old and weighs 53 pounds.  He is such a total package too.  His temperament is easy going and loving and is pretty much housebroken.  His foster said he is wonderful with all her cats and fosters kittens, good with all the other dogs and he is a dream to walk on a leash. She said that he knows a few commands and had to have lived inside with someone in the past.  He is too mannerly and polished to have only lived outside all his life.   We are looking for someone that wants a handsome, star canine companion.  We love everything about him and so will you!!!  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
We are so excited to introduce this girl called Red Shasta, a 1 year old 48 pound, Red Heeler that is one of the best girls you would ever want to adopt. She was dropped in the countryside of a small Tennessee town near a man’s home who took all three Heelers in to give them a safe place and food and water in this heat.  Soon he realized that he could not keep all three and get them vetted with his limited income.  He took them to a shelter that proceeded to call Critter Cavalry Rescue since we are such fans of the breed.  We have vowed to help them find wonderful homes and Red Shasta is on her way to finding that with this posting.  She is currently in a foster home with a big, older German Shepherd and they play like brother and sister.  She is housebroken, gentle and easy to have around and she is not at all one of the dominant “large and in charge personalities.  She is crate trained and always wears a smile to share with everyone.  She is cat friendly and  you can see how delightfully charming she is the first few minutes of meeting her.  Red Shasta is a stunning example of why the breed is so popular with dog savvy and active people.  They are a sponge for soaking up things to learn and they will make you feel like the most important person on the planet or at least in her world you will be.  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue about this girl at ccrtennessee@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.July 2, 2024, 7:01 am
