KoiMale Cream & Brown Border HeelerDOB: 10/29/2024Adoption Fee: $300Oh My Goodness! You can't handle all this cuteness! Two litters of puppies and one mama taking care of all them along with a caretaker who found them. One mom was hit by a car so we have no idea which of these 14 are actual siblings. They are not old enough to be spayed/neutered yet, but they certainly can be fostered-to-adopt with an approved application. They will be returning from their foster home and available to meet and play with beginning December 12.All our pets are posted online and we continue to take applications until they are officially adopted. Many times things change and an approved adopter does not adopt the animal so we do maintain a wait list when necessary. All our adoptable animals are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, dewormed, UTD on age appropriate vaccines & started on Flea Preventatives. All Canines are started on Heartworm Preventatives and if 6 months or older they are tested for Heartworm Disease.WE ARE OPEN for visitors from 12PM - 4PM Tuesday -Friday and 12PM-3PM on Saturdays or by APPOINTMENT at other times. We suggest calling prior to visiting our adoption center to ensure the animal you wish to meet is here at our Center (some are in foster care) and still available. If you want to meet an animal that is being fostered an approved application & appointment is required first.ONCE APPROVED WE WILL CALL/EMAIL YOU - APPROVALS CAN TAKE A FEW DAYS** WEEKEND APPLICANTS **WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAY & MONDAY THUS YOU WILL NOT HEAR BEFORE TUESDAYONLY ONE APPLICATION NEEDEDIf interested in more than one pup just put all the names on one application. Story
Piper is a little over 1 1/2 years as of November, 2024 and is not a large girl being on the shorter side. She has a great temperament with people, children and other dogs. She has never been around a cat. She knows how to sit and walks on a leash. Once house trained, she is a chill and calm dog in the house that can be trusted out of the crate when not home. She was always crated at night. She was around a 5 and 7 year old and knows how to be gentle and not bowl them over. We think she would do well with any type of active family. Piper is spayed, current on shots, flea and heartworm prevention. If you are interested in visiting or adopting, please submit our application at RichardsonRescue.org. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 26, 2024, 4:50 pm

Story
Meet sweet Poppy! Poppy was found in a field with her siblings, on the verge of dying. Dehydrated, emaciated, full of parasites. Thankfully a good Samaritan got them all rounded up and called us. All were a bit shy at first but have come out of their shell and are nothing short of adorable. Cattle dog/shep mix, going to be medium size dogs we think. Born in April of this year and currently around 15 pounds. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. ( we are in Cleveland County NC) Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home.
