Lindy is such a sweet, adorable girl. She loves people and the dogs in her foster home. She is playful, spunky and fun but also a cuddler. Lindy would be great in an active home with other dogs. She would enjoy family adventures too. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped. She is approximately 65 lbs.

Story
Brothers Jasper and Casper were born in Aug 2021 and Casper has been returned to his original family again although neither were his fault. He hasn't had the best of luck with adopters. Both families had housing issues and chose to let go of Casper instead of making other choices. Anyway, Casper has been in 3 homes and continues to be a loving fellow. He was recently in boarding care and did great with the ohter dogs and the staff.  He doesn't mind cats or kids and would do best in a home where someone is home often and there is another dog he canhang out with.  He doesn't like being crated alone and displays some stress when left alone where he can't see any friends.  The rescue is out of room and doesn't have a foster for these pups, so they are listed as a courtesy post and their caregivers will be involved in the selection of their next homes and families.  Interested adopters should complete the rescue adoption application from the rescue website. If you are interesting in meeting any of our pets, the process is to complete an application.  It can be downloaded as a pdf document from our website and submitted by email to WindyRidgeRescue@gmail.com  as a scanned document or as photos OR can be completed entirely online. Both links are in the header of our website.   Because we are foster based, we require an approved application to schedule a meet and greet. We feel that is fair to our fosters and rescues so every meet and greet can result in an adoption. A limited number of cats are showcased at Peetco in Sumter, SC weekly.  &#226&#128&#139We do not have set adoption fees for dogs, but hope adopters will donate generously so we can rescue more. The medical care for every dog can easily exceed the adoption donation.  Average adoption fees for dogs in the area range from $175 up to $450. Your generous adoption donations help us continue our programs of providing quality food and medical care to those who pass through our fosters.  We ask for a minimum adoption donation of $70 for cats who are not yet altered and $100 for cats who are already spayed or neutered, regardless of age.  Please bring your own carrier for the ride home!  Each cat is up to date on vaccinations, dewormer, and microchipped.  Larger donations are always welcome so we can rescue more.  Medical care for each cat easily exceeds the minimum donation.   &#226&#128&#139As with every rescue, our resources are limited and the need for rescue help is unlimited. Your generosity helps us to rescue more and funds the only Trap Neuter Return Program in the county.  It's like tossing $100 bills in the woods when we trap a cat, vaccinate and spay or neuter that cat and then return them to the colony. Young kittens are tamed and available for adoption. We are alone doing this in our area. Your increased donation at the time of adoption can help us cover costs for the cat becoming part of your family as well as a feral to prevent more feral litters.  &#226&#128&#139Adopting or fostering for a rescue frees up a space where a new rescue can reside.  &#226&#128&#139If you can't adopt or foster, than please consider donating.  October 21, 2024, 3:12 pm

Story
Do you want a loyal companion? Meet Cooper. Cooper is a sweet, well behaved 7 year old Australian cattle dog mix. He is great with kids, other dogs, and cats. Snuggles are his favorite thing in the world. We just had a new baby and are having another and just cannot handle having a pet too. He does not do well with chickens, rabbits, or similar small animals. He's a low-medium energy dog. He is trained and knows all basic commands ( although his heel needs a bit of help). He absolutely adores being around humans. He also loves learning new tricks. He would well with a family who is home a lot, or an older person/people. He spent a few months with my grandmother, and was very gentle with her. She adored him. He is great with all age kids and loves being "dressed up" and hugged.

These pups are in Columbia, South Carolina too!

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Great Falls, SC Meet Nash! He is a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd and weighs 65 lbs. He is up to date on shots but isn’t neutered or on heartworm prevention. Nash is good with younger children! No older children or larger dogs, due to his reactivity! He is good with smaller dogs after they have a slow introduction! He is housebroken and crate trained. Nash nipped a guy on the arm in 2024 after he slammed the door and came towards the owner. When a human acts in an aggressive manner, Nash will bark, growl and get in their face. The owner is surrendering him because he had a seizure, and they are unable to afford his medical needs. He needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Nash, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Nash. Owner’s Contact Information: Hailey hailey110506@gmail.com
