Adoption Donation   $ 299 Located:  RI Age: 4.5 years old Weight: 56 pounds  Meet Finn!   Finn is a striking 4.5 year old black and white Australian cattle/terrier mix and is looking for a family who tend to be home bodies. Finn would rather stay at home and play in his own house/yard than prowl the town!   He loves to play and heard his toys, especially his ball! He would love to chase it around your fenced-in yard.  You do not have to worry about him alone at home. He is very smart and knows all basic commands.   FINN would do best with a positive minded adult home only.  After working with our trainer at Jenn Reynolds Training Tails Finn is building his confidence level back up due to an off leash dog attacking him.    Sunday football, baseball, basketball games on the couch is his fav!!!  Sunday driving and long walks on the cape or ferry rides to the Block not so much.  He prefers the end of the recliner.   Please reach out to me if you are interested in getting more information or to set up a meet and greet with Finn. Save4pawz@gmail.com Friends of Homeless Animals, INC of RI  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  Save4pawz@gmail.com  Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Meet Mila Mae, a young, sweet soul whose gentleness will warm your heart. Her playful antics bring laughter and joy to all who meet her. She is nervous in new situations and with new people. She is looking for a quiet patient home who does not have a lot of social expectations for her.  This girl is an introvert and would prefer to spend her days at home with her people rather than going to the brewery.  She can enjoy the company of another dog with slow introductions. Mila Mae loves to cuddle with adults and older kids, her sweet nature making her the perfect companion. Her love knows no bounds, and her loyalty is unwavering. She is a smart girl that is crate trained, walks pretty good on the leash, and is doing great on house training but still needs a little more practice. Group training classes is recommended to help her learn commands, socialize with other humans and dogs, as well as build that fur-ever bond with you! Mila Mae is looking for a loving family to share her life with. If you're seeking a playful, loving, and loyal friend, then Mila Mae is the perfect addition to your family. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application   HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see   HERE   Age: About 7 months (as of 11/04/24) Weight: About 43 pounds (as of 10/20/24) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.   Meet Pym, a sweet and sensitive soul who is looking for a patient and loving home. He is gentle and affectionate but can be a little shy in new situations outside of the home environment.  He is your typical energetic puppy when in the home environment.  He is good with both cats and dogs and would love another playful canine sibling.  He would do best with a fenced in yard given that he can be nervous on leash walks. He is working on housetraining and doing well.  He does well in the crate when left alone.  Pym would thrive with someone who can help build his confidence and provide plenty of positive reinforcement.  If you’re ready to give Pym the encouragement and love he needs, you’ll be rewarded with a bond that will last a lifetime.”   Pym's back story is that he and his siblings were found under a house and were rescued by our Southern partner.  They were known as the New Moon litter.  They were in foster care together until they traveled to Rhode Island, and all found loving homes. Pym is with a loving and caring family, but he is proving to be a bit too boisterous and rough for the other adult dog in the home and unfortunately it is not a good match.     An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see  HERE  for more information about this. Story
Curly is an adorable one-year-old Cattle Dog Mix who is eagerly looking for a forever home. With her calm and quiet demeanor, Curly has won the hearts of everyone she meets. She possesses a loving nature especially once she forms a bond with her human companions. Her foster mom has enjoyed taking care of her and has stated that her company was most endearing. They spend many nights cuddling as the foster works on her computer. Even though her foster mom will miss her, she knows Curly is ready for the next big step in her life in finding a loving family! How did Curly come into the ArkanPaws program? There is a video of her walking across a bridge with several other abandoned dogs in an area known for dumping unwanted pets. The ArkanPaws volunteer returned with live traps and by the next morning she was secured. At first, she was afraid and it took about one week to win her trust. She still is shy when initially meeting strangers but warms quickly when she feels safe.  One of Curly's most endearing qualities is her gentle and sweet nature. She approaches life with a relaxed attitude, always ready to take things at her own pace. While she may initially be reserved, it doesn't take long for her to warm up to people, and once she does, her affection knows no bounds. She enjoys being petted and following her person around the yard and house. How did Curly get here name? Her cute little tail is what she is named for! Her appearance is very unique with her dappled short coat and corkscrew like tail. Her coat sheds very little and is easy to maintain. Curly will do best with older kids who are eight years old and up. She’s learning to like toys and has a zest for treats. With proper interaction, she has the potential and curiosity to engage in play. She's doing very well with the cats in her foster home. Curly is curious, but does not advance, or act aggressive in any way with them.  She’s crate trained and still trying to master potty training. Her foster mom is working with her to walk on leash. She is fully vetted: spayed, microchipped, all core vaccinations, and has been examined by a licensed veterinarian. Her current weight is a healthy 38 pounds. Her adoption fee is $450, which covers her transport and all of the vetting she has received. She has been tested for heartworms and the result was negative. ArkanPaws is not licensed in the state of Massachusetts and unable to deliver there. ArkanPaws is a non-profit agency and all adoption fees supports other pets in need.  ##1771554##

Story
Meet Cookie, a spirited senior dog with a zest for life! Despite being about 8 years old, Cookie plays like a puppy and has a boundless love for the outdoors. She enjoys playing with balls, chasing squirrels, and has a special talent for playing soccer all by herself. Cookie was found as a stray in Little Rock, AR, and a kind Samaritan brought her to our rescue group, ArkanPaws. She has been living on our rescue farm for over a year now, and we're eager to find her the forever home she deserves. Cookie is independent and prefers solo play over interacting with other dogs. She has a very high prey drive, so she needs to be in a cat-free household. With her impressive mousing skills, Cookie would make a great addition to a farm, helping keep the rodent population in check. Fully vetted and on heartworm prevention, Cookie is ready to bring joy and excitement to her new home. Her adoption fee is $350, covering the cost of transport from Arkansas to New England. If you're looking for a playful, independent, and energetic companion, Cookie is the perfect match for you! Adopt Cookie and let her playful spirit brighten your days!         4o ##2097442##
