Story
Pepper was adopted from a shelter in Tennessee in 2020 and is now 4 years old. She was spayed when we adopted her, and her tummy was tattooed after the procedure. She is a house-broken, crate-trained, and loving dog who loves going on walks or "snif"faris. She also loves tug-of-war, fetch, and puzzles. She knows some commands and tricks like sit, wait/free, let's go, dance, and touch. Pepper needs an experienced family of dog lovers to handle her reactivity providing frequent socialization training as currently we cannot provide her with enough consistency. Her reactivity includes grooming--she displays extreme anxiety around ear cleaning and nail clipping. Ideally, she needs to be in a home with a yard to let out her energy and provide stimulation. She is allergic to cats and is likely best in a single-pet home with no children. We have never experienced her resource guard except once around another dog with food specifically.

Story
Lady is a sweet, intelligent and playful 32 lb 1 year old Australian Cattle Dog. We are heartbroken to have to rehome her but a family member has a medical condition and we have no choice. She loves playing fetch, puzzle games, hide and seek… She is strong and healthy, spayed at 11 months…. Heartworm/flea and tick negative …. Potty trained and Knows basic commands. Ideal candidates would be very experienced with ACD/working and/or herding dog… land or a big yard for her to run and meet her exercise needs. If kids are in the home, older children who can be helpful with training dogs but not very young children. Can you help Lady find her forever home???

Story
This baby and siblings were found by a passerby on the side of a street. They are a beautiful bunch of colors!! Some speckled, some merle, a couple brown and a lone black and white pup. They are very friendly and would be fine in any type of family environment. They will need the basic puppy training but will adjust to any routine given to them. They have no experience with cats so that will need to be a bridge to cross if needed. These babies are quite calm for their breed, maybe they'll grow into more energy?! They seem a little standoffish but warm up to people and they do like to play (especially with shoe laces). These are a sweet bunch of babies and all they need now is a forever family. We also transport every weekend alternating between the Northeast and the Midwest. Also, we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
These two are a fabulous pair of mini-Aussies and they deserve a wonderful home to make up for their early life. Their original family got them as a gift for a 10-year-old who wasn't at all interested. They are 6-7 years old and until they came into rescue, they never even had names! Despite being ignored and shouted at, they are sweet boys, and they have great dog manners. They are calm, loving, and so grateful for any love and attention. They adore their new toys and were ecstatic when a friend came by with kids. They are housebroken, great with both big and small dogs and have ignored the cats completely. We have given them all their shots, had them neutered and chipped and they are ready to go to their forever home! We believe that they will be good together or separate but if you would like to take both, we have discounted the adoption fees to $500 for both. They are being fostered in TN but we will transport them to a location near you using Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

Story
What we know about Gus: Great with dogs Great with kids (has lived with kids and another dog previously) Awesome temperament Calm, great on a leash About 2 years old Potty trained Crate trained Loves snuggles Gus is located in East, TN. But if you are seeing this on adopt-a-pet, transport fees are included in the adoption fee. Out of state adopters are welcomed. Transport is available to your area in the NorthEast or Great Lakes area. We use the most animal friendly transport on the road (Rescue Riders Transport)! When Gus first came to us, he was extremely underweight, essentially hairless, and had open wounds all over his body as a result of Demodex Mange (not contagious). At the rescue, we have plumped him up to a great size and started him on appropriate flea/tick medication to treat the mange. After 2.5 months of treatment, most of his hair has returned and should continue to improve, his wounds have healed, and his skin is back to a normal color! Since he is recovering from demodex mange (not contagious), he may still benefit from a few more medicated baths to help with continued healing. His adoptive family will need to continue him on Simparica Trio (or similar flea/tick medication that treats the mites that cause mange) on a strict schedule to make sure he does not develop mange again. We think he could be a heeler mix because of the speckles but we truly still don’t have a great idea about breed. The regrowth of hair didn’t help us with this as much as we thought it would with breed ID!

Story
Meet Sassy! She was surrendered to our rescue with her 2 sisters by a local family who could not afford to care for the mother dog and her puppies. Her mother is a husky mix and the family is not sure of the father. The puppies were born on March 9th and are very curious and playful! They currently live in foster care with many other dogs (medium to large) and older children and have done great with everyone. They are very smart and have started working on basic commands and potty training. Husky and Aussies are high energy and sometimes vocal dogs. Please consider this before adopting. Please note: This dog is a puppy and will require additional patience and training. Her adoptive family will also be responsible for completing her puppy vaccines as applicable and completing heartworm testing after the dog is 6 months old. This dog will not be able to go to her new home until she is spayed (June 24th). Microchipped, vaccinated and up to date on monthly preventatives. Sassy -friendly personality and rambunctious -curious and intelligent -very active -silly and goofy -affectionate Can be Cat tested upon request! UTD on vaccines, on preventatives, and microchipped.
