Story
Meet Absolute Joy! This energetic, 1-year-old German Shepherd mix is the definition of pure happiness. With her sweet personality and big bark, she’s a softy at heart who just wants to be your best friend. Absolute Joy is always thrilled to see you, and though she's working on her manners (she might jump for joy when she greets you!), it’s just because she can’t contain her excitement! Absolute Joy is an enthusiastic chewer who loves her chew toys, especially when they come with tasty treats. Cod sticks, yak chews, and bully sticks are some of her favorites! She’s also crazy about her snuffle mat – meal times are even more exciting when she gets to enjoy her food while working for it. Absolute Joy has a playful side, and although she’s not into fetch, she’s always ready to run around and have a blast outside. She’s a natural adventurer and would be the perfect hiking companion. Nature is her happy place, and she’s always up for exploring new trails with you. And if you’ve got a box around, watch out – Absolute Joy hasn’t met one she can’t tear apart! For her, peanut butter-filled Kongs are the ultimate treat, making her heart full of joy. If you're looking for a spirited, loving, and fun puppy to bring into your home, Absolute Joy is ready to fill your life with happiness and adventure! We found Acorn while walking our other dog by Temple area and she happily ran up trying to make friends. She ended up following us home and after looking for her owner for a month we found nothing. She is a very young and energetic dog who loves long walks and being around people as much as possible and while she is sweet she is very high energy and appreciates a living in a single dog household.

Story
In the spring of 2023, we got a call about 4 dogs who were in bad shape and living in the woods a couple of hours from me. We set traps and were able to rescue 2 of the 4. We tried and tried to get the other 2, but we were unable to do so. Some of the local people continued to try to get them, as well, but couldn’t. I am still very sad about having to leave them behind. Chester and Chloe were near death when we rescued them. They were starving, their skin was horrible, and of course, they had every known parasite. They are healthy now. Chloe is still very shy, and I feel that she needs a special home with a lot of love, patience and attention! We do not see any aggression in her. She has been at Blue Ribbon Kennels now for 14 months and needs a forever and loving home so badly. She has never had the opportunity to live inside a house and to be part of a family. Chloe is in Mississippi. When adopted, she will come fully vetted and will be transported by Rescue Riders, a very reliable transporter. All of this is included in her adoption fee.

Story
Hi!  My name is Ricky and I am looking for a forever home.  I was adopted out from a small rescue when I was just a small puppy, but then my owner decided that he just didn't have time for a puppy and brought me back on Christmas Eve ... I was crushed!  But my luck changed when a BCAA foster heard about what happened to me and since she was already coming to pick up some other dogs for BCAA, said she would take me, too ... yeah!!!  I'm just a little over 6months old and currently weigh a little under 30lbs; the vet guesstimates that I might put a little bit of weight on (I am a little on the skinny side) but that I should stay 35-40lbs full grown.  The best guess of my breed is a cattle dog  (I've got some beautiful ticking/markings) and a terrier with my ears; whatever I am, my foster mom says I'm a really handsome boy.  I have gotten along with the other medium/large dogs I have met and while I've shown a little interest in the cats, so far I haven't bothered them.  I'm working on getting potty training down and have done better as long as I get out on a regular basis as I'm learning to hold it in my crate.  I will go right in my crate when asked as I get good food and treats in there, but I would really prefer to be out and about with you.  I love my food and treats which will be great in helping me with any future training you might want to do.  I'm pretty good on leash and enjoy going out on adventures.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Maverick got his name because of his unique coat. Although it's the coat of an Australian Cattle Dog, somehow his coat is just different enough to be his very own and not another dog's, He's a true individual, a kind of Maverick. He can be shy at times, but that isn't his &#194&#147way&#194&#148 all the time. He's energetic, enjoys playing with other dogs but is also fine and independent when alone. A 2 year old boy weighing between 30 and 35 pounds, he's a most unusual boy. Story
Meet Walnut, a 30 lb., 1 year old Mini Aussie mix in search of his forever home. Despite his young age, Walnut has already been through a lot, which has made him a bit nervous and wary of new situations. Though Walnut is working super hard on becoming a brave boy, he’ll need someone who is willing to be patient as he adjusts to his new environment. Once he opens up (which doesn’t take long!), Walnut is the most affectionate and cuddly boy there is! He loves belly rubs, chewing on bones (any kind, he’s not picky!), and wiggling his whole self all over you! Walnut has also very courageously overcome his fear of leashes and enjoys taking long walks where he can continue to work on his leash manners. Walnut does not like the crate, but his foster has no issues allowing him free roam of the house while gone. He enjoys being with other dogs and would do well in a home that already has another furry friend to play with! Interested adopters should be prepared to continue helping Walnut feel confident when on his own. Apply to adopt him by filling out our application https://www.familiarhearts.org/adoption-process
