Story
Hiya, I`m Link! A young boy like me is always ready for adventure, however I am looking for a partner that can take me through the serious training that I`ll need in order to be adventure ready. As I was a stray, I can be a bit nervous with new people and I will let you know it. I`m not a fan of sharing my items and I`m picky with my dog friends too, although I may be good with the right one. I enjoy chin scratches and resting with my friends, but I don`t enjoy cuddles. I`m looking for a home where all household residents are over 15, as I`m really looking for a family that is dedicated to making sure I succeed in my adventures. If you`re interested in devoting time to have the best partner around, please stop by the shelter to meet me. ---This animal is available by appointment only. Please reach out to schedule a visit with one of his handlers!---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Louie is a 6 year old, 37 lbs , cattle dog mix. He is a good boy who loves car rides, hikes, playing ball, and cuddling in the mornings. Unfortunately, he does not trust small children and with the newest addition to our household, needs to find a good home without children in it. He currently lives with a cat but will chase her to protect food. He likes dogs that are his size and smaller as well as larger submissive dogs. He is very trainable as he is a very smart boy. He is housebroken and can be left alone without having to be crated or gated. He can be reactive on a leash but this is as he is overly protective of those he loves. He has responded to treat training very well on leash in the past. We love Louie and only want him to go to a home who will love him like we do. He is a sweet boy and will be a wonderful addition to the right persons/people’s life!

Story
KENNEL ID #01658&#226&#128&#139 Leo is one of seven dogs from this owner looking for loving homes. Leo’s mom Riley and sisters Roxy and Snowflake have already found homes. Leo and his other siblings are all about a year old and are a mixture of Cattle Dog/English Setter/Labrador Ret. and Border Collie from what the owner said. They were born on their farm and he made no effort until now to find them homes. Leo inherited PRA, Progressive Retinal Atrophy and is completely blind at night and has started to  lose his daylight vision. This condition  will progress to total blindness. Leo coped quite well with poor night vision his condition was only diagnosed when our rescue partner in TN took him to the veterinarian for his vaccines and heartworm test. Most dogs with PRA adapt and learn their environments, they are only noted to be blind when the environment has changed. Leo is a loving boy he likes kids, cats and other dogs. Sponsor Leo:  Your donation will support Leo on his journey toward finding a loving home. Your gift will provide veterinary care, safe housing, nutritious food and his transport to PA. Thank you for your interest in rescue.  If you would like to be considered for  adoption please submit an application to adopt.  If you have any questions regarding the adoption process please  email:    dianespets1486@gmail.com  or call 610-970-7500 APPLICATIONS TO ADOPT : DOG   SMALL ANIMALS   BIRD REPTILE   FERRET December 13, 2024, 11:49 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Honey is only a year old and LOVES LOVES LOVES to play!!  Her family has 2 older dogs and 2 young children and they just feel like Honey has too much energy.  They say she wants to play with balls 24/7 :)   Sooooo we are looking for an active home for her NO couch potatoes!!!  She wants to go on runs and walks and play in a fenced yard ALL day :)Her Christmas wish is a family that wants to have LOTS of fun!!!!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!November 30, 2024, 7:54 pm
