Story
Betts (affectionately known as Rudis) is a sweet 9 month old Australian Cattle Dog (red heeler) mix. Like most heelers/cattle dogs, he is a herder. He will definitely herd children, so he is not recommended for a home with children in it. 12 years old and older recommended.  He is a working breed. And that would mean ... a well exercised dog like him is a good dog. He would need a "job" and somone to lead him on his 'job' or daily tasks. That job could be hiking, working on a farm (prey drive would need to be further assessed), long walks on the trails or any active lifestyle.  And then, he becomes the biggest couch potato. He is potty trained and crate trained. He enjoys a routine/schedule, which is nice if you work out of the home.  Establishing a routine or schedule for him helps! He is simply searching for his fur-ever home that has a lifestyle that keeps him busy and stimulated both physically and mentally, is a leader to him and then allows him to nestle onto the couch for an evening of naps.  ##2179601##

Story
Oliver is a 1 year old altered male who came to us as a stray in Somerset County. We later learned that Oliver did have a family that was not longer able to care for him. Oliver is a young dog with a big personality and a heart of gold! He may be young, but he's got plenty of love to give and he's always up for a good snuggle. Oliver is an active dog who would love a family that can keep up with his energy and adventurous spirit. He's very curious and smart, and is always eager to learn new things, whether it's a new trick or just exploring a new walking route. He is a sweet boy who would love to have a family of his own, but unfortunately he does not along with other dogs, so he would do best in a dog- free home. We also recommend a family with older children. If you're looking for a fun-loving, sweet, and curious companion, look no further than Oliver!

Story
After observing her in the woods for days, rescuers managed to earn the trust of Ivy and was able to trap her. She had been deemed to have some vision issues and hearing deficits. Now with a few weeks at the shelter, we can debunk those assumptions that are not easily tested in dogs. She does have vision and hearing loss. She turns her head towards horses in the paddock, Ivy negotiates the curbs, steps, doors and landscape like any sighted, weaving and letting her nose have a field day, happily walking on leash with the volunteers. As she has grown comfortable, she is learning that any nipping/herding behavior with humans, which is a natural behavior for her breed, should be discouraged. Beloved when she is being affectionate, but knowing her disabilities, Ivy needs an experienced adopter and would be a great companion to another active dog.

Story
Sophie is a 3-year-old Australian Cattle Dog (Red Heeler) mix weighing about 26 lb. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and good with kids. Sophie was rescued from a hoarding situation in Kentucky where she was locked in a shed. Miraculously, this hasn’t dampened her spirits. She can be a little shy and unsure at first, so she’s looking for a family with the patience to show her that the world isn’t so scary. But once you earn her trust, she just wants to be your best friend and climb into your lap to snuggle. If you want to give this sweet girl the loving home she deserves, grab an application from https://www.bridgetohome84.org/ and send it to andrea.bthar@gmail.com. Available through Bridge to Home Animal Rescue Washington Pa KL#16643.

Story
Are you in search of a one-of-a-kind serial kisser? Well, look no further, because I, Mandy, am the dog you've been waiting for! I come with a mix of awesomeness and a charming personality that's sure to steal your heart. I can be delightfully laid-back, enjoying those calm moments, or I can transform into a bouncing ball of joy when the mood strikes. Walks and jogs? Count me in, especially if you're by my side. But here's the thing-I love playing with other dogs so much that I often choose their company over toys. Let's talk sunbathing. If your couch has that perfect spot for catching rays, you can bet I'll be there, soaking it all in. I'm a big fan of lounging, whether it's under tables, during dinner time, while you're working at your desk, or even when you're cuddled up in bed. I'm all about being close to my people, and if you choose to adopt me, I'll be all about you! I'm a sociable girl, getting along well with other dogs and kids (especially with submissive/non-dominant dogs). My crate training and potty training with a doggy door are top-notch. I'm a pro at commands like going to my crate and sitting patiently. Now, about my diet-here's the deal: I have EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), which means my pancreas doesn't produce the enzymes I need to digest food properly. Thanks to some attentive rescuers and veterinary care, we've got it all figured out. I'll need a specific diet and a pancreatic enzyme replacement supplement to keep me feeling great. Think of it as a special appetizer and entree at every meal. EPI won't slow me down, and I'm ready to trade serial kisses for a loving forever home day in and day out. So, how about it? Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
