Story
Hiya, I'm Link! A young boy like me is always ready for adventure, however I am looking for a partner that can take me through the serious training that I'll need in order to be adventure ready. As I was a stray, I can be a bit nervous with new people and I will let you know it. I'm not a fan of sharing my items and I'm picky with my dog friends too, although I may be good with the right one. I enjoy chin scratches and resting with my friends, but I don't enjoy cuddles. I'm looking for a home where all household residents are over 15, as I'm really looking for a family that is dedicated to making sure I succeed in my adventures. If you're interested in devoting time to have the best partner around, please stop by the shelter to meet me. ---This animal is available by appointment only. Please reach out to schedule a visit with one of his handlers!---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. What is it going to take to find Aldo a home?!? He has waited so long and really needs to find a home ASAP!  He is a sweet, friendly pup ready to find his forever home. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog or if you need a buddy to join you on hikes, runs, or walks, Aldo would be a great choice! BREED A DNA test done on his sister shows he is 51% Australian Cattle Dog, 34% German Shepherd, 1% Collie, 1% Bohemian Shepherd, 8% Husky, 3% Chow, and 2% Chihuahua. He’s about 35-40 pounds currently. Will maybe be 50ish pounds full grown? KIDSHe was around kids in his first foster home and was good with them. He may jump and knock smaller kiddos over out of playfulness/excitement. He LOVES people! He’s been good with 12 year old kids. DOGS Yes, he is good with other dogs. He LOVES to play! He does play a little rough.  CATSProbably not. We think he’d be a bit too rough on cats and risk their safety. AGE Estimated DOB 11/1/23. OTHERHe LOVES tennis balls He will entertain himself with them if no nobody wants to play. He usually brings them back if you throw them. He LOVES people! He is crate trained and very close to being house trained. He sleeps quietly through the night in his crate too! He needs work on leash training. He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. In New England. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Update 5/20-Sage has been adopted, Jude is still in need of a home! &#226&#156&#180&#239&#184&#143More senior dogs in need! Please share these girls. Meet Jude (speckled white and black) and Sage (black and red). They do NOT need to be adopted together. Their owner unfortunately has to give them up as their very young child is highly, and I mean highly, allergic to the dogs. The family has tried everything but they just can't keep them. It is a very, very sad situation for all. Please read the following info from their owner: &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143Hi, I am Jude. Judy, Judeth, Rudeth, Tude, etc. I have one of the biggest personalities in a dog that you could possibly imagine. I am a 13-year-old Blue Heeler, Aussie, Dingo mix and have been with my family for 10 years. You would not know I am 13 based on my agility and health. I get the zoomies regularly and will gladly climb a short fence once I’m finished with my breakfast. That said, if I receive regular walk and run time and some off leash dog park or large yard time most of my day is spent lounging around the house. Inside and outside. If I do not receive regular time to get my energy and curiosity out, I get talkative. I am a vocal communicator and will let you know if someone comes to the door. But once my family says it’s okay, and I get to sniff the new human, I will go lay down. I do prefer warmer weather and will sunbathe on many a summer day and lay exceptionally close to the wood burning stove in the winter. I am great with kids, younger and older. Arguably one of the best non-labrador dogs with kids my family has ever seen. I allow children to pet me and are completely okay with them near my food or gently touching my face, ears, and belly. If they poke me too hard, I will yelp, but not go after the children. I love being pet and do great getting bathed, brushed, or having my nails trimmed. I love my family, and am always excited to see them! I am highly treat motivated. I do very well on a leash and do not pull. When I am on a leash and away from the house, bicyclists and skateboarders usually don’t bother me, but when they are in front of my house, I tend to try to herd them. I need a fully 6’ fenced yard ideally in the country without the click clack of skateboarders riding down the sidewalk. If I see a squirrel or something else exciting, I will go after it. But, I have always come home. I do great with other dogs of all ages do not respond aggressively even when taunted by others at the dog park. I would love to go somewhere with some other animals for entertainment. I have also lived with cats. I am microchipped, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, on heartworm prevention, and the vet does not have any health concerns for me. I do have a couple of benign tumors, but they do not seem to cause me discomfort. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143Hi, I am Sage. Dage, Rhonda, Greed, etc. I am the greediest dog you will ever meet. I will take ALL of the snuggles and pets ANYONE has to offer. I am not picky about who does the petting, I just require loads of love. I am a 10-year-old Red Heeler, Aussie mix and have been with my family for 8 years. All I want to do is wiggle my little tail, follow my family everywhere and be loved. If you love me, I will show you my gift of loyalty. I like being indoors and outdoors, and I do not require a leash for me to stay by your side. I do not stray far from my family. I do not like thunderstorms, and will hide under your bed when there are loud sounds. I love greeting all newcomers and will bark in excitement to let you know someone is here, but then run straight up to them, butt wiggling, and greet them with all of the love I have. I do well with young and older children, but do prefer a bit more of a calm area, so if I can lay in another room during commotion, I am just fine. I do well with other dogs as well, but do not prefer when puppies are bounding off of me. I may give them a growl to tell them to stop, but that's as far as I go. I am not food defensive, and am just happy to be receiving food. I am not a good candidate for free-feeding though, because I will overeat. I love going on hikes and walks and if you live on a safe country road, I do not need a leash to keep me near you. I love rolling in the grass, and shoving my snout in a fresh snow! I am pretty much one of the best dogs that have ever lived. I have also lived with cats. I am microchipped, spayed, on heartworm prevention, up to date on vaccinations, and the vet does not have any health major health concerns for me. I am developing cataracts though. I do have a couple of benign tumors, but they do not seem to cause me discomfort. &#226&#156&#180&#239&#184&#143While they have been together for a very long time, I would not consider them a bonded pair. I would love for them to go to the same home, but not necessary. Finding the best homes for them individually is more important. They are pretty different dogs. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations.
