Story
Looking for a canine partner that is already professionally trained? Look no further than Vinny! Vinny came to Sanctuary One from a high kill shelter back in June. The shelter staff sent numerous videos of him interacting with dogs, children etc. and he did great! Once he arrived he was fine with our other shelter dogs and staff. Vinny was adopted but returned because he started resource guarding food, toys etc. This was not a behavior we had seen from him prior to being adopted. Our volunteer dog trainers from Companion Canine took Vinny home for a 2 week crash course where he learned to have manners and we found out that he is really smart and loves his training sessions! Here is the video the trainers made of him: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-FxCGpywk_f13IbfggqC2cMwZiCIAl-_/view Vinny is an amazing little guy but will need an adopter that is willing to keep up on his training. He is super smart and would excel in scent work or advanced obedience training. He has retained all of his training since he has been back with us. Vinny is very sweet, he loves to give hugs! Story
Meet Merlin, the powerful wizard! This young boy will surely bring lots of wonder and magic into anyone's life. He loves his doggy pals as well as his two-legged human friends! We don't know much about Merlin's start in life other than he was abandoned with the rest of his litter not far from Rescue Ranch in Yreka CA. While he was reasonably timid at first he quickly learned that we weren't so bad and showed off his goofy and playful personality. He has been amazing in playgroups and loves making new canine friends wherever he goes. Story
I was abandoned at a local lake and found by my dad’s caregiver. She brought me to mom and dad so they could make sure I’m healthy and get a good start in life. My parents can’t keep me because of medical reasons but want to make sure I go to a loving home! I love to cuddle, play, go for walks, and am just an all around happy guy.

Story
Koa was adopted from the Jackson Country Animal Shelter. He is 9months old. Trainable. Good with everyone, but needs training. He is house trained, and crate trained. He is fine on his on in his crate, but needs to be played with. Doesn’t do well in the yard alone. He’s a land shark. He chews through everything he can. He loves bananas, especially frozen. Also an egg for breakfast will make him happy. He also travels well in the car. He’d be a great companion animal. He loves a good snuggle. Will sleep on you if you let him.

Story
I rescued Raven from a abusive household. He was only 6months old and is the most sweet dog. I have done my best to rehabilitate him, but my personal life has taken its toll and made him go backwards on his progress. I am incredibly sad to give him up, but I know that my house is not safe for him or his mental well being anymore. He needs be a single dog in his new home. He has food aggression and toy aggression to other dogs. He is hyperactive and needs a large yard or someone willing to take him out on adventures. He is really easy to train, but you will need to keep it up and only use positive reinforcement because of his trauma. He cannot be kenneled. He is severely afraid of kennels and has severe anxiety being in them. He will come with some Toys, a bed, bowls with stand, and his food.
