Story
Evelyn would be a great fit for a family or an active owner who will keep her busy! She was originally found as a stray as a little baby and has pretty much grown up here. She did a trial adoption for a couple of months but was returned due to personal reasons of the adopter not related to Evelyn. Evelyn loves other dogs and we think she would do well with kids! She is 9-10 months old and we were told she’s housebroken! Evelyn is available to foster or adopt!

Story
Hi, I’ve just recently arrived after HSDC helped rescue me from a local puppy mill who discarded me. I’m finally experiencing so many firsts like being petted, hugged and loved! I’m looking for a patient adopter to help me decompress from the mill and learn what it’s like to finally get to be a dog. It is REQUIRED that my new home has another dog friend to help me gain confidence about life outside the mills. How did I get here? Ohio ranks second in the nation for puppy mills, with documented violations including poor living conditions and lack of medical care for dogs. The Humane Society of the United States has identified 16 of the worst puppy mills in Ohio, where dogs suffer both physically and mentally. Recent news stories are highlighting the urgent need for industry reform, but we’re not there yet. Advocacy for better conditions and responsible breeding practices is crucial to address this ongoing issue. If you’re interested in meeting me, please reach out to HSDC!

Story
Meet Waldo, a talkative and happy Border Collie puppy who is always ready for some fun! Waldo has a huge love for anything exciting, especially when it involves people. Whether it’s a game of fetch, a run in the yard, or simply spending time with his favorite humans, Waldo is all in. His energetic personality is infectious, and he’s sure to keep you on your toes with his playful antics and happy-go-lucky attitude. This little guy thrives on attention and would do best in a home with another dog to keep him company. He loves having a furry friend to play with and learn from, and a doggie companion will help him feel more at ease as he grows. Waldo’s ideal family will be active and ready to match his energy—he has a lot of love to give and is eager to build a strong bond with the right people who can give him all the care and unconditional love he deserves as he matures. While Waldo still needs his neuter surgery, once that’s completed, he will be fully available for adoption. If you’re looking for a fun, energetic puppy who will grow into a loyal and loving companion, Waldo could be the perfect match for you! He’s excited to meet his new family and start the next chapter of his life filled with adventure, love, and plenty of playtime.
