Story
Cache is a wonderful boy who LOVES to snuggle, is wicked smart, and delights in taking long hikes and adventures. Cache has been trained well, knows many commands, kennel trained and is fully potty trained. Cache will be 5 this November and has been with me since he was 7 months old. The issue? Cache was attacked by a dog about 2 years ago out on hike and has since escalated to attacking other dogs in the home. Dogs he grew up with and loved. On a leash, he is not really reactive, but the moment he has to share space with another dog inside he quickly starts lashing out and attacking without remorse. I have taken him to training classes, tried thunder coats, and even some meds to keep him calm. The issue has only escalated despite all efforts. Cache would do AMAZING in a household with an active person or family with no other dogs. Cache lives with cats and has no issues with them at all, is even a little scared of them at times when they try to play with him.

Story
🎀Meet Gigi 🎀💎Gigi is a 2 year old, 15 pound, chihuahua/cattle dog mix. This poor girl was a hot mess with a severe bacterial skin infection when she came in. The infection is gone and her skin is healed but she will need to stay on flea and tick prevention, avoid foods with beef or chicken and may even need to take Benadryl or an allergy medication regularly to prevent her from ever having to look and feel the way she did at intake ever again. We have a special shampoo we will be happy to send with her as well. 💎Gigi's not just sensitive of skin, she's also sensitive of soul. We do not know exactly what she's been through before coming into rescue and can be a bit untrusting of the world at times. She loves being rubbed and closes her eyes with pleasure. Gigi demands attention from her person and will stare deep into your eyes and try to steal a kiss. She's very expressive; she grunts like a pig, chirps like a squirrel, and will protect the territory with strong barks. A firm, loudish "no!" is sometimes required to get her to stop and settle. 💎Gigi seems to know "sit" and we've worked on "touch” which is her command to return to her human. She could use more training and practice heeling/not pulling while taking walks. She gets very nervous/anxious and vocal at night in her crate but he's perfectly housebroken and hasn't had a single accident so a crate at night time in her forever home may not be needed. She is a cuddle bug and would much rather share your bed with you at night anyways! 💎Gigi is not outdoorsy in that she does her business and comes right back inside but she does love her walks. She is very food motivated and is protective of her food so she prefers to eat in her own space away from other animals. She is good with other dogs after a proper introduction and short adjustment period. Gigi is great with kids and fine with cats as long as she cannot get to their food or litter box. She likes hard chew toys and plush squeaky toys, but tears the latter up quickly. 💎Gigi is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested negative and on both heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention. If you are interested in adopting Gigi please visit our website at www.pawsofadamscounty.com and submit an adoption application. When applying, please answer each question completely and honestly. Only complete applications will be considered.
