Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Angel, owner says she is a Red, Blue Heeler, Aussie Mix. Angel is a gentle and loving dog who was surrendered through no fault of her own. Her family, who adored her, had to move and couldn’t take her along. Now at the shelter, Angel is understandably confused and scared as she adjusts to her new surroundings. She is up to date on her vaccines. Although she tested positive for Lyme disease, she isn’t showing any symptoms and is being treated with antibiotics. Her previous family shared that she is great with children, adults, other dogs, and even cats. While she is only "somewhat" house-trained, she is highly intelligent and has been showing us just how smart she is since she arrived. Angel is a very intelligent dog & will do best with a leader who understands the breed and will provide the needed physical & mental stimulation. Angel has all the makings of a wonderful, life-long companion and is ready to find her new forever home. Good with dogs, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
After observing her in the woods for days, rescuers managed to earn the trust of Ivy and was able to trap her. She had been deemed to have some vision issues and hearing deficits. Now with a few weeks at the shelter, we can debunk those assumptions that are not easily tested in dogs. She does have vision and hearing loss. She turns her head towards horses in the paddock, Ivy negotiates the curbs, steps, doors and landscape like any sighted, weaving and letting her nose have a field day, happily walking on leash with the volunteers. As she has grown comfortable, she is learning that any nipping/herding behavior with humans, which is a natural behavior for her breed, should be discouraged. Beloved when she is being affectionate, but knowing her disabilities, Ivy needs an experienced adopter and would be a great companion to another active dog.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello, my name is Ginger. I was brought to Olive Branch as a owner relinquish. I came in with a little gash on my head and turns out, it was where I got hit with a BB gun. I was timid at first but after relizing how kind and amazing the Olive Branch staff are I began to trust them and let them give me all the care and love I needed. I do like to play with toys in the play yard and I love the attention I get as well. I will even give you kisses if you'd let me! I am spayed, current on vaccines, up to date on preventatives and also all negative on my combo test which is good. If interested, I'd like to meet your family and furry friends as well. Story
I got Jade from an acquaintance on the 25th of Oct. She's an incredibly intelligent girl and has learned several commands. She loves to cuddle, but she's an incredibly high energy dog and needs to run. She's quirky and makes me laugh. She'd be happiest with a farmer who can train her to herd cattle, but would be happy with anyone who can provide her with a safe yard for her to roam around in. She is a major chewer, but when she has toys to chew on she sticks with them. She loves to play tug of war.

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Leo. I'm about 5 years old and I weigh about 55 lbs. I was found as a stray in the Lisbon area and I was brought into the pound. I was very shy when I first arrived at the pound. It did take me some time to warm up to the people here, but now that I know them, I am a very sweet boy. I still take some time to warm up to new people, but once I get to know them, I am a good, sweet boy with them too. I love to run, play and go for nice walks. I also enjoy getting attention and affection once I am adjusted to you. I have been good around the other dogs that I've met here and I like to play with them too. I will need a patient family that will give me time to adjust and settle in to my new home, but once I do, I am sure to make you a wonderful new friend. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable.
