Story
As of November 19. She adopted us, and we had every intention of keeping her but her presence has begun affecting my husband's PTSD service dog's behavior. She is very sweet, likes to be outside, and very pregnant! She can use the doggie door into our garage and seems to be happiest in there, and the vet said this will be OK to have her babies in! Would do very well in a fence in yard, as a free range dog, or even on a farm. She just loves to be loved, isn't excitable, calm enough to do well around small kids. Not even my chihuahua barks at her! Please contact for more details.

Story
Hello Dolly.... This cute Cattledog mix is a hurricane Ida survivor. Yep, rode all the way from Louisiana. Dolly is timid and takes a bit to get to know but once you do she is very affectionate and loving. Sometimes overly loving as she thinks she may be a lap dog. Dolly will need a family who can keep working on her social skills. She is a herding dog and will "herd" kids so no little kids for her new home. Dolly is house trained as long as she gets to go out frequently. She gets along with most other dogs but does take a slow introduction. As you can suspect she is very scared of storms, gun shots and loud banging so she will need a place to hide to feel comfortable when they occur. To adopt go to www.libertyacresunited.com and submit an application. Nelson (Woody) Born 5/19/23; Heeler/terrier mix, 20lbs Woody was adopted as a young puppy, amd returned for behavioral issues due to his energy not being met. With some structure, and lots of fetching, Woody is ready to roll! He loves to play, but loves to snuggle just as much. He very much wants to be in your business, and apart of everything. He loves going for cars rides too! Woody will do best in a home that is familiar with Heeler behavior, and their needs. He is house trained, crate trained, and does well on a leash. Woody is current on vaccines, microchipped, and neutered. We are accepting applications at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SHPA/Dog

Story
July 2024: Noah is growing more confident. He still needs another dog to play with and follow. He is crate trained and needs a 6' fence. He is walking on a leash and had his first outing to Lowes this week and did great. Feb 2024: Noah is a happy high stepping 11 month old pup. He evens smiles. That being said he will need an experienced adopter, secure 6' fence, and an active playmate. He will adjust so much better with a playful dog to follow. He is totally crate trained and loves being outside playing with toys. He has been fearful since he was 2 months old Found alone in a road in Eastern KY. He walks fine on a leash and is very friendly at our public events at Petsmart. At the foster home, he is afraid of strangers. He will just need time and patience and will be an outstanding friendly playful pet. Update 9/5/23 His DNA is in and the picture included. He is a happy pup who high steps with happiness. He will do much better with a playmate and dog to follow. He is crate trained. Update 8/15/23 Noah is growing! he is doing well, getting used to being handled. He loves other dogs and needs a companion to follow and play with. He is doing great with crate training and needs to be gotten out quickly in the morning to avoid accidents. He smiles and high steps in excitement when you talk to him now! So cute. Probably going to be around 30-35 lbs. He is 6 months old and 25 lbs. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped. The rescue does not adopt out to properties with invisible fences or tie outs. Application: https://form.jotform.com/FredsMission/app

Story
Meet Duke! Duke is a 5-year-old, 55-lb, 100% Australian Cattle Dog (aka Blue Heeler) who loves being a shadow dog and would make an incredibly loyal friend! Duke is a certainly a Heeler! He is incredibly smart and can solve dog toy puzzles in record time. He is fun to train and catches on quickly to new skills. Duke is crate trained, completely house trained and knows how to "place on a cot. He would love the opportunity to learn even more tricks and useful skills! Along with his intelligence comes a wariness of new people. Duke needs lots of time to warm up to strangers and does best when new people give him the space that he needs. Duke's loyalty to his people can manifest in being protective when strangers are around. Duke will need to be adopted into a home without children as young kids do not always understand his boundaries. Duke loves going for walks and checking out his environment. He is still learning how to be polite when cars and bicycles pass by, but he could certainly improve in this area with more practice! He would love to have a yard with a fence where he could run around and exert some energy. His favorite game is fetch, and he is impressively agile at catching the ball! If you're looking for a smart, loyal dog that can be high-energy when you want an adventure buddy but also loves to chill when the time comes, Duke may be your perfect match! Duke is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $275. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
