Story
Meet Molly-A Loving Companion Seeking Her Perfect Home Molly is a sweet and affectionate 9 year old dog looking for a home where she can be the center of attention. She is incredibly loyal, enjoys outdoor adventures, and always stays close by when exploring. Molly is a hunter and would do great at BarnHunt (dog sport). Molly would do best as the only pet in the household. She has had conflicts with our other female dog and tends to be overly corrective toward both of our dogs, which has impacted their well-being. Because of this, we believe she will be happiest in a home without other animals. Molly does have separation anxiety and is currently on daily medication to help manage it. Molly is an incredibly loving and devoted companion who deserves a home where she can receive the individual attention and care she thrives on. If you're looking for a loyal, adventurous, and affectionate best friend, Molly may be the perfect fit for you!

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Leo. I'm about 5 years old and I weigh about 55 lbs. I was found as a stray in the Lisbon area and I was brought into the pound. I was very shy when I first arrived at the pound. It did take me some time to warm up to the people here, but now that I know them, I am a very sweet boy. I still take some time to warm up to new people, but once I get to know them, I am a good, sweet boy with them too. I love to run, play and go for nice walks. I also enjoy getting attention and affection once I am adjusted to you. I have been good around the other dogs that I've met here and I like to play with them too. I will need a patient family that will give me time to adjust and settle in to my new home, but once I do, I am sure to make you a wonderful new friend. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Dottie. I'm about 1-2 years old and I weigh about 40 lbs. I was seized by the pound, along with 11 other dogs and puppies, after being found living in very neglectful conditions in the very cold winter weather. Most of us didn't even have shelter and those of us that did had less than ideal shelter and living conditions. I have not been a house dog in the past, nor have I ever been well socialized. I am a very sweet, but I am afraid of most everything. I do love other dogs and another friendly, well socialized dog would greatly help me. I am a little timid at first when meeting new people, but I am a very sweet girl and I warm up to you quickly. I LOVE to snuggle into you and get attention and affection. I will need a patient new family that can give me the basic training and socialization I need. In addition to basic training, I will also need work with potty training. Although I may need work to be the ideal dog, I promise to pay you back for your hard work in kisses and cuddles! If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Story
Daisy is a loving, playful, and very energetic dog. Quite attractive and adorable. She was rescued from the Cuyahoga county animal shelter after having been there for a week. A large outdoor yard or field would be idle for her because she is a splinter and loves to run and jump. I acquired her to become a companion dog for an elder man for whom I care for who had recently had a dog that passed away but, due to his age and health conditions, unfortunately, Daisy's activity level supercedes his ability to provide the resourcefulness that she requires.

Story
We got Sheba off of a couple who couldn't keep her due to them moving to Flordia, with the intention on fostering her until we could rehome her. Due to people's judgement on Facebook I am trying to find her a home on here. She is great with my toddlers and my other dog she really likes to play. She is good with cats but likes to chase them. She has been around chickens, goats and ducks but needs correcting when chasing them. She loves playing with toys and she can sit and give high fives. She is crate trained and will come with a crate.
