Story
Meet Bert! Bert is a 3.5-month-old, 10 lb Blue Heeler mix puppy who is full of energy, cuteness, and cuddles. Bert's superpowers include his ability to make everyone fall in love with him at first sight. He is very playful and will play with anyone who is willing, including other dogs. He is good with children as well. He has not been exposed to cats yet. Bert can entertain himself with just about anything and is a happy puppy. At first, he can be a little unsure of new people but warms up pretty quickly. In terms of house training, Bert uses pee pads but will do his business outside as well but does tend to take his time. His training is coming along nicely but still has a way to go. He is very food oriented and loves tasty treats! Some of Bert's favorite things are cheese treats and chewy toys. If you're looking for a sweet, friendly, and playful puppy who will greet you with excitement every time you walk in the door and loves snuggling at night, Bert might be your perfect match! Bert is currently being fostered in the northern Cincinnati, OH area, and his adoption fee is $400.00. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Story
Meet Bluey! This sweet, spunky 3.5-month-old, 10lb Blue Heeler mix is full of personality and curiosity, and we have no doubt she will bring so much joy to the lucky family that welcomes her. Bluey, like her brother Bingo, had a rough start in life. She was born in a puppy mill, meaning she didn’t get much human interaction early on. But since coming into my home as a foster, she has blossomed into a confident, adventurous little pup who is eager to explore the world around her. Bluey may be small, but she has a big spirit. She’s always ready to see what’s around the next corner, and she loves climbing—sometimes we wonder if she’s part cat! Her tail is always wagging, and while she’s a little more independent than her brother and doesn’t mind being left alone at times, she still enjoys attention and affection. She is incredibly smart and is working on leash walking, potty training, sit, stay, lay down, come, and crate training. She’s doing well, but like any young puppy, she will need a family that is patient and willing to continue her training. She hasn’t been exposed to other dogs, cats, or children yet, but with proper introductions and guidance, we believe she could do great with any of them. Bluey would thrive in a home that can keep up with her adventurous spirit while also providing the love and structure she needs. She enjoys playing with toys, exploring her surroundings, and, of course, being with her people. While she had a tough beginning, she has proven to be a resilient, happy pup who is ready to start the next chapter of her life. Bluey is currently fostered in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is eagerly waiting to find her forever family. If you think she could be the perfect addition to your home, she will no doubt fill your life with love, laughter, and plenty of adorable mischief. Bluey is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $400.00. Story
Dear Future Family of Bingo, Thank you for considering opening your heart and home to this special little pup. Bingo is an amazing 3.5-month-old, 13lb Blue Heeler mix who has already come so far in his short life, and I know he will thrive with the love and care that you can provide him. Bingo’s journey started in a puppy mill, meaning his early weeks were spent without much human interaction or guidance. But since coming into my home as a foster, he has shown incredible resilience, intelligence, and affection. This is the first time he’s truly experienced life as a beloved companion, and he is soaking it all in. He is very smart and eager to learn! Right now, he is working on mastering leash walking, potty training, sit, stay, lay down, come, and crate training. He is doing great, but as with any puppy, he will need continued consistency and patience to help him grow into the best version of himself. His future family should be ready to continue his training and provide the structure he needs to succeed. Bingo hasn’t had the chance to be around other dogs, cats, or children yet, simply because he’s still young, but with proper training and introductions, I believe he would do just fine. He has a higher energy level, as many herding breeds do, but he also has a snuggly side and loves to be close to his people. At 13 pounds, he may be small now, but he has a big heart and an even bigger personality. Some of his favorite things include playing with squeaky toys and just being near his humans. He will likely thrive in an active home that understands the needs of an intelligent, energetic breed like a Blue Heeler mix. He’s looking for a family who will give him the patience, structure, and love he deserves. Bingo is currently fostered in Cincinnati, Ohio, and while he had a rough start in life, I have no doubt that his future is bright. I can’t wait to see him find a family that will cherish him as much as he deserves. If you think you could be that family, I know he will reward you with endless love, loyalty, and joy. Warmly, Bingo’s Foster Mom PS If you want to see Bingo in action visit bit.ly/fosterblueybingo for videos! Bingo is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $400.00. Story
July 2024: Noah is growing more confident. He still needs another dog to play with and follow. He is crate trained and needs a 6' fence. He is walking on a leash and had his first outing to Lowes this week and did great. Feb 2024: Noah is a happy high stepping 11 month old pup. He evens smiles. That being said he will need an experienced adopter, secure 6' fence, and an active playmate. He will adjust so much better with a playful dog to follow. He is totally crate trained and loves being outside playing with toys. He has been fearful since he was 2 months old Found alone in a road in Eastern KY. He walks fine on a leash and is very friendly at our public events at Petsmart. At the foster home, he is afraid of strangers. He will just need time and patience and will be an outstanding friendly playful pet. Update 9/5/23 His DNA is in and the picture included. He is a happy pup who high steps with happiness. He will do much better with a playmate and dog to follow. He is crate trained. Update 8/15/23 Noah is growing! he is doing well, getting used to being handled. He loves other dogs and needs a companion to follow and play with. He is doing great with crate training and needs to be gotten out quickly in the morning to avoid accidents. He smiles and high steps in excitement when you talk to him now! So cute. Probably going to be around 30-35 lbs. He is 6 months old and 25 lbs. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped. The rescue does not adopt out to properties with invisible fences or tie outs. Application: https://form.jotform.com/FredsMission/app

Story
In a world of fur and joy, there's a Heeler named Brownie, oh so coy, With fur as red as autumn leaves, he's the cleverest of canine thieves. At two, he's full of boundless glee, a furry friend for you and me. Smart as a whip, this Heeler boy, his heart's a treasure, a boundless joy. He dreams of walks and treats galore, his heart, your love, forevermore. Brownie, the Heeler, red and bright, a canine star, a pure delight. In fields of green and skies so blue, he'll be the bestest friend to you. Brownie has the desire to be with his person and would make a great and loving support dog or full time companion.
