Story
Aurora first came to us because she was left in a field. It took a couple days to live trap her. She was scarred when she came in and we had to win her trust. This girl has become a staff and volunteer favorite. She is loyal to her people, and is a homebody. While she likes car rides she prefers to be a homebody. With a little time and patience she could be your new best friend. She will need time being in a home before being introduced to other dogs. We have not tested her with kids, and it's a no on cats at this point**Please fill out an application found on our website under "adopt a pet" and send it in to start adoption process.**All Dog Adoption Fee's are $175 Cats are $100Includes initial Vaccinations, De-Worming, Flea Meds, Heartworm Testing, & Spay/Neuter

Story
Jax is a 2 year old, un-neutered male, who is very energetic but a very loyal dog. Jax come to us when he was about 5-6 months old, from a desperate family member who could not keep up with him due to health issues. Unfortunately the past year or so, Jax has not been getting along with our older dog which has resulted to us having to keep them separated. Due to our older dog’s age and health, we feel it would be best to indefinitely separate the two. We feel Jax could thrive in a new home, with a lot of room for running and play, he loves toys, tug of war and fetch. With Jax’s dominate behavior over other dogs and his temperament level, he would be best suited in a home as the only dog and with older children, if any. Jax is updated on all vaccinations, he also has an appointment to be neutered in September at a low cost pet clinic. Jax is potty trained as well as crate trained, he also loves going on walks. Please help Jax find a better suited home where he can thrive.

Story
Adopt Kylo! Who’s looking for a low energy, fluffy, sassy cattle dog?! Young adult male cattle dog mix. This sweet, sweet boy still needs a home. He is so down to earth and go with the flow. Does great with other dogs, is low energy, and loves those booty scratchins! He seems to want to chase livestock, but I’m betting that if someone put the time in with him, he’d understand that he shouldn’t do that. He really just wants to please. He loves being around our other dogs and has no issue with any of them. He’s a silly, playful guy that likes maybe a 15 minute walk and then he’s good. He is fixed and up to date on shots! He came to Ashtabula county animal protective league as part of a hoarding case - to which we pulled him from there! Being fostered in Lebanon OH. https://gforms.app/HhpNgNP

Story
Chuy was an owner surrender in Dallas Texas who quickly found himself on the list for next to be euthanized- purely for space. Chuy is very shy at first, so it takes time to gain his trust. Once you gain Chuy's trust, he is a dedicated pup. Chuy is vocal with his wants; wanting to go outside, wanting treats, wanting cuddles, wanting the other dog to stop drinking so he can drink. Chuy does well on a leash and does well in crowds IF nobody approaches to pet him. He has no problem with passerbyers, but does not enjoy being pet by strangers. Chuy does well with cats and other dogs with a proper introduction. Shelter notes on Chuy: Meet Chuy, a sweet and sensitive pup looking for a new home. Often cowering in his kennel, Chuy may seem nervous at first, but with patience and tasty treats, he quickly warms up to show his affectionate side. Chuy's s on a journey to find a loving home where he can continue to blossom and build his confidence. Due to space Chuy is needing placement as soon as possible. PLAYGROUP: PG1 - SOCIAL DG - DAINTY & GENTLE On 3/14/24 Timid and not very social, got a bit defensive upon interactions with others (mostly high energy dogs)Sometimes would approach others for sniffs but mostly sat in corner SHELTER OBSERVATION On 2/26/24 Upon intake Chuy was nervously shaking, and did need the help of the owner to bring him into the shelter and once inside he did walk with me well but with a few stops where he needed to calm down and then walk again, he started to whine once his owner left the building, and no signs of aggression VOLUNTEER OBSERVATION On 3/17/24 Timid Good on Leash;Good Manners;Learns Quickly;Pottied Immediately; Social (Dogs);Social (People); Timid at first, loosened up on the run ; Warms Up;Wants to Run; Chuy is overwhelmed at the shelter, but would blossom in a quieter environment. He wants to trust people, but is timid at first. He has amazing leash skills and manners in general

Story
We saved Misty hours before her euthanasia for over capacity. Misty is a very underconfident dog who needs some TLC. She has the looks of a heeler and the build of a corgi! She has stubby little legs and corgi attitude. Misty is potty trained and does well with low profile dogs. She is a bit skiddish and reacts to dogs, but has not caused any harm. Her foster says it is easily managed. Misty is heartworm positive and has begun treatment - so somehow she will need to be on a relaxed lifestyle for a while.

Story
Jaina is a 6 month old female australian cattle dog mix who came to us from a high kill shelter in Texas. Jaina does well with all other dogs, enjoys playing in the water, is crate trained, is potty trained, and is an excellent pup who many people in the community adore. She also likes to eat rocks and I won't let her live it down! Overall she is a very playful girl and a typical heeler puppy. Jaina is fixed, microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed. ]
