Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Sweet Luna came to our rescue with puppies. She was an incredible momma. All of her pups have since been adopted but she is still patiently waiting on someone to call her their girl. She loves walks and just discovered how much she loves the sand volleyball court! This sweet girl came to DASH fearful and shy with little confidence. She has made great strides in the DASH Prison Training Program. Her handler says " Luna is better than a good pet, she's a good friend and a great roommate". When you wake up, she's looking at you like "What are we going to do today?", but she is not afraid to be alone either. She will do best with a person who responds in a calm, relaxed approach. She is highly intelligent, affectionate and loyal and attaches quickly to one person. She loves everyone though. She's a great dog who just needs a chance with a family that has time for her. She will need time to decompress, with love and patience to show her she is safe and part of the family. Luna is not cat-friendly but is sociable with other dogs, just not puppies. She has not been "kid tested" so proper meet & greets are always in order. We are excited and anticipate Luna finding her perfect home. Rescue Luna and she'll rescue you. Story
Frankincense, or Frank, is currently in foster care. He is a gentle senior soul that gets along with all dogs, loves to snuggle, and prefers your pillow over any dog bed. He is sensitive around his neck and a little head shy but never aggressive. He uses steps to get on and off the bed and the couch because of a narrowing in his spine that limits his mobility and causes him pain at certain angles. He tolerates crating but much prefers to be loose when you are gone. We are considering this guy a medical special needs case, so if you're interested in potential adoption, please reach out to us so we can discuss his needs. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Frankincense home. If you are interested in meeting Frankincense, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
LuCe came to us after being found roaming the streets. She had been tied to a tree in the sun for long periods of time and had no hair and was full of fleas. The owner refused to take her back after she had been found. I have had her for 6 years, and in October I got married. After combining households we have 6 kids, and it’s too much stimulation for her. She’s gotten grouchy with my other dog, and gets overwhelmed when too many people are around. She’s a loving girl and I hate letting her go. I will not give her up unless I find the perfect situation for her. She is on an inexpensive medication for anxiety, and becomes very attached to her human. She took to my husband very quickly as you can see in the picture. She’s used to someone being home so she’s rarely goes in a cage. She loves car rides and willingly goes with the vet when I take her. She’s a big lap dog and sleeps with us.

Story
Looking for a big dog in a little body? Meet Brie! Brie is a pretty typical Cattle Dog; she is spunky, high energy, ready to learn, and loads of fun! Brie came to us as a stray and we are still getting to know her. Initially she was a little nervous, but she was quickly bounced back and become a happy, adventurous pup. As is typical for the breed, Brie can be mouthy and would do best with children middle school age and older. She is a young and energetic girl, and is looking for an active family to give her a job. If you have other animals at home, we recommend bringing them in for Brie, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
Walter is a Heeler/Border Collie mix. I have had him since he was a puppy. He will be four in February. Walter has never been “buddies” with our other dog but got along for the most part. There have been a few fights which have escalated recently and after consulting with our vet we have been advised the healthiest & safest course of action to permanently separate the two dogs. Walter is not the aggressor in these fights. Walt is a great dog, high energy working breed for sure but a great dog. He needs to be somewhere with property he can run and probably be the only dog in the home. Walter is neutered, up to date on his shots and flea/parasite medication (Simparico). I will provide a bag of his food and three months of Simparico as well.

Story
DobbieMaleAge: 2.5 YearsWeight: 55 lbsBreed: Australian Cattle Dog, Australian Shepherd MixGood With: Dogs, Cats, Kids Hi, I’m Dobbie! I am an energetic, cuddly and curious boy, who gets along great with other dogs and cats! I also love kids, but I am quite excitable so would do best in a home without young kids.  I am house trained and crate trained – although I do well when left out of my crate too! I love learning new things, have completed several training programs, and have mastered all the basics like walking on a leash, basic commands (sit, stay, down, come, wait, okay, no) and can even “place” on command.  I would love an adopter who can continue learning and growing with me and challenging me to be my best self. Being a young Cattle Dog mix, I will need an active adopter who is ideally experienced with herding or working breeds. I would also love a fenced in back yard for games of fetch although this is not required. In my free time I love to PLAY, be outdoors, cuddle, and be as close to my humans and fur siblings as physically possible. I also REALLY love to give kisses and I’ve never tasted a treat I don’t like! I can’t wait to have an adopter all my own who will provide me all the love and the active lifestyle I deserve! If you are interested in meeting Dobbie, apply to adopt at: www.causeforcanines.org Adoption fee: $350. Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 10 years old or older. ##1385204##
