Story
Meet Duke! Duke is a 5-year-old, 55-lb, 100% Australian Cattle Dog (aka Blue Heeler) who loves being a shadow dog and would make an incredibly loyal friend! Duke is a certainly a Heeler! He is incredibly smart and can solve dog toy puzzles in record time. He is fun to train and catches on quickly to new skills. Duke is crate trained, completely house trained and knows how to "place on a cot. He would love the opportunity to learn even more tricks and useful skills! Along with his intelligence comes a wariness of new people. Duke needs lots of time to warm up to strangers and does best when new people give him the space that he needs. Duke's loyalty to his people can manifest in being protective when strangers are around. Duke will need to be adopted into a home without children as young kids do not always understand his boundaries. Duke loves going for walks and checking out his environment. He is still learning how to be polite when cars and bicycles pass by, but he could certainly improve in this area with more practice! He would love to have a yard with a fence where he could run around and exert some energy. His favorite game is fetch, and he is impressively agile at catching the ball! If you're looking for a smart, loyal dog that can be high-energy when you want an adventure buddy but also loves to chill when the time comes, Duke may be your perfect match! Duke is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $275. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Sweet ARCHER is a gorgeous mixed breed boy looking for a codependent relationship. He's a 39 lb. 5ish year old guy, our best guess on breed is a red heeler/beagle mix. Archer's happy place is with his trusted people. He's timid in new situations and with new people and will never be a social butterfly, he is best suited to a quiet home with the people he loves best. Archer isn't particularly interested on other dogs and would be perfectly content to live life as an only dog. Archer is housebroken and well behaved. If you'd like to meet Archer, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Archer at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 10, 2024, 7:55 pm

Story
July 2024: Noah is growing more confident. He still needs another dog to play with and follow. He is crate trained and needs a 6' fence. He is walking on a leash and had his first outing to Lowes this week and did great. Feb 2024: Noah is a happy high stepping 11 month old pup. He evens smiles. That being said he will need an experienced adopter, secure 6' fence, and an active playmate. He will adjust so much better with a playful dog to follow. He is totally crate trained and loves being outside playing with toys. He has been fearful since he was 2 months old Found alone in a road in Eastern KY. He walks fine on a leash and is very friendly at our public events at Petsmart. At the foster home, he is afraid of strangers. He will just need time and patience and will be an outstanding friendly playful pet. Update 9/5/23 His DNA is in and the picture included. He is a happy pup who high steps with happiness. He will do much better with a playmate and dog to follow. He is crate trained. Update 8/15/23 Noah is growing! he is doing well, getting used to being handled. He loves other dogs and needs a companion to follow and play with. He is doing great with crate training and needs to be gotten out quickly in the morning to avoid accidents. He smiles and high steps in excitement when you talk to him now! So cute. Probably going to be around 30-35 lbs. He is 6 months old and 25 lbs. At two, he's full of boundless glee, a furry friend for you and me. Smart as a whip, this Heeler boy, his heart's a treasure, a boundless joy. Fetch and roll, and sit and stay, he'll dance and prance, bright as the day. With every bark, a tale he'll weave, of loyalty that won't deceive. He dreams of walks and treats galore, his heart, your love, forevermore. Brownie, the Heeler, red and bright, a canine star, a pure delight. In fields of green and skies so blue, he'll be the bestest friend to you. Brownie has the desire to be with his person and would make a great and loving support dog or full time companion. Story
Are you in search of a one-of-a-kind serial kisser? Well, look no further, because I, Mandy, am the dog you've been waiting for! I come with a mix of awesomeness and a charming personality that's sure to steal your heart. I can be delightfully laid-back, enjoying those calm moments, or I can transform into a bouncing ball of joy when the mood strikes. Walks and jogs? Count me in, especially if you're by my side. But here's the thing-I love playing with other dogs so much that I often choose their company over toys. Let's talk sunbathing. If your couch has that perfect spot for catching rays, you can bet I'll be there, soaking it all in. I'm a big fan of lounging, whether it's under tables, during dinner time, while you're working at your desk, or even when you're cuddled up in bed. I'm all about being close to my people, and if you choose to adopt me, I'll be all about you! I'm a sociable girl, getting along well with other dogs and kids (especially with submissive/non-dominant dogs). My crate training and potty training with a doggy door are top-notch. I'm a pro at commands like going to my crate and sitting patiently. Now, about my diet-here's the deal: I have EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency), which means my pancreas doesn't produce the enzymes I need to digest food properly. Thanks to some attentive rescuers and veterinary care, we've got it all figured out. I'll need a specific diet and a pancreatic enzyme replacement supplement to keep me feeling great. Think of it as a special appetizer and entree at every meal. EPI won't slow me down, and I'm ready to trade serial kisses for a loving forever home day in and day out. So, how about it? Mac is a sweet boy who knows what he wants! He does love to chase and play with animals smaller than him. Due to this we suggest that he does not go home to a family that has cats or things like chickens. Squirrels watch out! This little guy can move! Mac is a ham, you can't see it in his pictures but he LOVES attention :) He is good with other dogs and happy to be a friend or he could be an only dog and BASK in the undivided attention :) He is a lazy boy and does enjoy snoozing and spending time on the couch napping but at the same time can have his moments where he is ready to go. He is housebroken and does just fine in a crate! If he sounds like the boy for you then don't wait! Story
Meet Phineas! Phineas is a very energetic medium-sized pup. He was previously adopted from God's Dogs when he was 3 months old, but recently returned through no fault of his own. Phineas is a goofy guy: he smiles & makes "air chomps, when he is happy or while playing with a canine buddy. He is also a water baby! He loves jumping into the baby swimming pool & attempting to dig out the water in between breaks for zoomies & wrestling. Because of confidence issues and a high play drive, he must have a canine companion. He is crate trained, and requires crating for meals & high-value treats. With his great looks, sweet/derpy demeanor, and love for people of all ages, dogs, & cats, Phineas is a great addition for an active household! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Luna is 11 months old and 35 lbs. She is an Australian Shepherd pup looking for a new loving home. If you’re familiar with Aussies, you’ll know this is a high-energy breed that needs attention. With proper training and care, you’ll be rewarded with an extremely intelligent and loyal companion. Luna loves playing with her foster siblings and sleeps peacefully in her crate at night (no accidents either!). She’s working on housetraining with her foster and is acclimating nicely. She would do well in a home where she’ll have plenty of space to roam and other dog-friends to play with. Luna is an intelligent and loving pup that just wants to share her affection with the right new family! She was listed for free on facebook and the they lived in a 1 bedroom apartment and keep her in a crate for long periods. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati.
