Story
Meet sweet Poppy! Poppy was found in a field with her siblings, on the verge of dying. Dehydrated, emaciated, full of parasites. Thankfully a good Samaritan got them all rounded up and called us. All were a bit shy at first but have come out of their shell and are nothing short of adorable. Cattle dog/shep mix, going to be medium size dogs we think. Born in April of this year and currently around 15 pounds. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. ( we are in Cleveland County NC) Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
This sweet girl is a Cattle Dog rescued by Piedmont Animal Rescue from Western NC, and her journey is nothing short of inspiring! When she first came into foster care, she was completely shut down and terrified of the world around her. But with love, patience, and the companionship of her foster brothers and sisters, she’s blossoming in ways we couldn’t have imagined thanks to our partners at Elevation K9 Training. Her Amazing Progress: • She’s now eating comfortably alongside her foster siblings. • She plays and seeks out engagement from people she once feared. • She’s building confidence with every new field trip and exposure to the world. This beautiful girl still has some learning and growing to do, but her progress shows she’s on the path to becoming a wonderful, loyal companion. She’s looking for a forever family that can continue helping her discover how amazing life can be. Could you be the one to show her the love and stability she deserves? Lucy's adoption fee includes a MANDATORY series of training to ensure ongoing success for her and her new humans.  ($350 value). Story
Meet Nora! Nora is a sweet girl and will become her best self with a patient and a loving family. She warms up to women fairly quickly but needs a little extra time with men.   Nora is a darling dog and gets along very well with her foster siblings (dogs and a cat).  She has shown some interest in the cat but is not aggressive and backs away when told.  Nora is not a fan of a crate, but this has not been a problem as she is housebroken and sleeps on a dog bed at night. Nora has only been walked outside on a leash due to her heartworm treatment, but she would love the freedom of a secure fenced yard. Loud noises and strange sounds are sometimes scary, so a quiet home is best for Nora. She is a loving precious girl who can’t wait to find her forever home.   Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. Story
Please contact foster at cndychin@gmail.comI have been sponsored! - Thanks to donor support, my adoption fee will be reduced by $38.This sweet boy is the perfect hiking and running buddy. Always up for a trail or a jog, Carter’s energy and love for the outdoors make every adventure better. He’d thrive with an active family who loves exploring as much as he does, but also enjoys relaxing and resting after each adventure. Carter is also affectionate and happiest when he`s next to his human. While he`s a confident adventurer outdoors, he can be a little timid at times, so some patience and confidence-building will go a long way.As a young pup, Carter still has some typical puppy traits, but he’s extremely food motivated, which makes training easy and fun. Carter is dog friendly with proper guidance, potty trained and crate trained. He`s also non destructive when left out.If you`re looking for an affectionate, active companion to share life`s adventures and cozy moments, Carter might be your perfect match! Please reach out! • Sweet timid boy• Low to medium energy• Potty & Crate trained• Non-destructive when left out• Dog friendly with slow intros• Food motivated which makes him easy to train and redirect (very smart)• Loves playing tug, running, and walking on trails• Loves to sniff• Cuddlebug• Relaxes after walks/playtime/training making him an easy companion
