Story
Had a "ruff" start in life but I'm a "Tuff" guy so I'm going to be just fine. Have a variety of freckles but the ring of them around my nose is so precious. The nice volunteers here are helping me with my leash manners and they've discovered that I love water! I seem to get along with other dogs so bring them with you when you come to meet me. We could be the perfect match.

Story
What big (and precious) ears I have. The better to hear you with. Want to be able to hear all those compliments you'll give me about how cute and smart I am. I'm an energetic gal who wants an active family. Walks and runs will be a must. Need a secure yard so I don't go out exploring on my own. Keeping me active will help with that. Seem to get along with most dogs so bring your pet with you when you come to meet me. I need a buddy that can match my enthusiasm.

Story
Are you looking for the goodest boy? Well, look no further. I'm a sweet, friendly, young guy with lots to offer. I'm lovable and fun. I have started working crate training and would love to continue training with you. With all those great behaviors, you might be surprised that I'm still a pupper. I do still have puppy energy but learn very quickly. Being a cattle dog mix probably has something to do my advanced smarts. Bring the whole family (furry friends too!) in to see if we're a good match. I can't wait! A team member adds, "Brian is just the sweetest guy. His signature move is to sit and lean against your legs then roll over onto his back for belly pets. He's very friendly and shows off his signature move to everyone he meets. He was great walking on a leash, and he enjoyed going to the park and running around and playing with toys. If you're looking for a sweet, friendly snuggle buddy, Brian is your man."

Story
This stunning girl wants what every dog wants: a safe and comfortable home where she can be loved. Elsa is an adolescent who has spent most of her life in a New Mexico shelter and she can be shy around unfamiliar people. Once she gets to know you better, she's eager to call you one of her best friends. Elsa is a total love bug who knows how to "sit" and "shake". She loves to play with toys and can often be found sneaking off with her favorite stuffy in her mouth. Elsa can be a little nervous around new dogs at first, but may do well with another mellow dog who will be respectful of her space as she adjusts. Come meet this wonderful girl! We know you'll fall in love!

Reagan

Australian Cattle Dog American Pit Bull Terrier

Female, Adult
Sandia Park, NM
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Not good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Reagan is a 4 yo (approx) spayed female. Her DNA shows pitbull/cattle dog cross (with several other breeds mixed in). Reagan is an active dog, though not hyper. She LOVES playing ball (her favorite thing), rides in the car, hikes, and camping, she is well mannered, great on the leash, house broke, does not get into the trash or eat your food if you leave your plate. She is protective and will bark at new people, though takes her cues from her human and will quiet if told too, unless she perceives a threat. She would love to be a lap dog, and likes her bed and stuffed animal. The negatives: Reagan has a high prey drive. We are not sure how she is with cats or small dogs but she is fine with larger, non-aggressive/alpha dogs. She will kill chickens, rabbits, rodents and birds of any kind, not an issue unless you have chickens or pet rabbits/rodents. Not good with small children and can get over protective of her "person" at times. She does not bite.

Noelle is young adult, female herding breed mix. She used to be an outdoor dog, but she has quickly adapted to being inside more and around more people. Noelle is a super sweetheart. She is a bit shy at first, and can sometimes get overwhelmed, but when she's comfortable, she becomes a sweet little spaz. She loves people and will do anything for a hug. She can be a little particular with dogs, but she does well with calm and friendly dogs. She has been around cats before.

Story
This happy fella is just under a year old and sure to bring fun and laughter to your home. Rooster has the goofy charm of a puppy with the growing maturity of an adult dog. He LOVES toys and fetch – he’ll even drop the ball at your feet for you to throw it again. Rooster knows “sit” and takes treats gently. This smart cookie learned to climb on agility equipment in the play yard in one session! After he’s run off some energy, he loves to flop down at your feet for a nice pat and praise. Rooster seems dog friendly, greeting furry friends through the fence with a sniff and a wag. Even so, a meet and greet with your dog is a good idea to see if they can be pals. Rooster is an awesome youngster who will grow into a wonderful dog with the right loving family. Come meet Rooster today!
