My name is Scout. I am the funniest puppy... some of that comes from my amazing breed. I am a Red Heeler. The rescue thinks I might be close to a pure heeler. Of course, one won't know until a DNA is done but man... I look pretty darn close to 100% and, I act like it too. First, I am about 6.5 months old and small! I am only about 22 lbs. We don't think I will get too much bigger, maybe 30? I am just great overall. I live with three other dogs (all big females) and kids 8+. Some basics - I am housebroken and crate-trained. I am not a high maintenance puppy but there are some things about me and my breed that are notable. I am a heeler so I will "heel." That means I do use my mouth and will nip when I am excited, playful or just want to move someone (dog or human); it's not constantly - just occasionally. I am pretty tame in this regard compared to some heelers but I think kids under 8 wouldn't appreciate my teeth on their calves. Ha! A person who loves my breed and understands my breed would be a plus. I am going to enjoy some nice activity and walks. I am super trainable and probably would really enjoy some obedience training and even learning tricks. Don't get me wrong, I am not high energy. I love my toys, playtime etc but then I nap with the rest of the dogs! I am affectionate but also independent so I am not always in your face. I am just the cutest nugget. My name is Arrow, I am Scout's sister! I am the same age at about 6.5 months but a bit bigger. Our statures are so different. I am about 6 lbs bigger than Scout. Scout is kind of a meatball and I am long and lean and very dainty! I am about 28 lbs. We don't think I am going to get too big. I could reach 40 at most? The jury is really out but I honestly look like I have grown into myself. I am the coolest Red Heeler. I might be close to 100% but again, we don't know that either! I am super fun, super smart and willing to learn. My foster home has other dogs and I get along with them all. I am housebroken and crate-trained. I am a love to my foster moms. I am goofy and silly too (much like Scout). But, I am SUPER cuddly. I love to lay with my humans and canines. I have fallen in really quickly in my NJ foster home and have enjoyed all the comforts. Like Scout, I can "heel" aka nip a bit to get people or dog attention. This mainly happens when I get excited! It's just the way I work given my breed. I would love a home that is ready for a super cool and beautiful head turning dog (or a fawn look alike!). A human that will teach me some leash skills, exercise my mind and just give me lot of life and affection. Kids 8+ and dogs please apply; we are unsure on the kitties.
