Story
Hi!  My name is Ricky and I am looking for a forever home.  I was adopted out from a small rescue when I was just a small puppy, but then my owner decided that he just didn't have time for a puppy and brought me back on Christmas Eve ... I was crushed!  But my luck changed when a BCAA foster heard about what happened to me and since she was already coming to pick up some other dogs for BCAA, said she would take me, too ... yeah!!!  I'm just a little over 6months old and currently weigh a little under 30lbs; the vet guesstimates that I might put a little bit of weight on (I am a little on the skinny side) but that I should stay 35-40lbs full grown.  The best guess of my breed is a cattle dog  (I've got some beautiful ticking/markings) and a terrier with my ears; whatever I am, my foster mom says I'm a really handsome boy.  I have gotten along with the other medium/large dogs I have met and while I've shown a little interest in the cats, so far I haven't bothered them.  I'm working on getting potty training down and have done better as long as I get out on a regular basis as I'm learning to hold it in my crate.  I will go right in my crate when asked as I get good food and treats in there, but I would really prefer to be out and about with you.  I love my food and treats which will be great in helping me with any future training you might want to do.  I'm pretty good on leash and enjoy going out on adventures.  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
In the spring of 2023, we got a call about 4 dogs who were in bad shape and living in the woods a couple of hours from me. We set traps and were able to rescue 2 of the 4. We tried and tried to get the other 2, but we were unable to do so. Some of the local people continued to try to get them, as well, but couldn’t. I am still very sad about having to leave them behind. Chester and Chloe were near death when we rescued them. They were starving, their skin was horrible, and of course, they had every known parasite. They are healthy now. Chloe is still very shy, and I feel that she needs a special home with a lot of love, patience and attention! We do not see any aggression in her. She has been at Blue Ribbon Kennels now for 14 months and needs a forever and loving home so badly. She has never had the opportunity to live inside a house and to be part of a family. Chloe is in Mississippi. When adopted, she will come fully vetted and will be transported by Rescue Riders, a very reliable transporter. All of this is included in her adoption fee.

Meet Absolute Joy! This energetic, 1-year-old German Shepherd mix is the definition of pure happiness. With her sweet personality and big bark, she’s a softy at heart who just wants to be your best friend. Absolute Joy is always thrilled to see you, and though she's working on her manners (she might jump for joy when she greets you!), it’s just because she can’t contain her excitement! Absolute Joy is an enthusiastic chewer who loves her chew toys, especially when they come with tasty treats. Cod sticks, yak chews, and bully sticks are some of her favorites! She’s also crazy about her snuffle mat – meal times are even more exciting when she gets to enjoy her food while working for it. Absolute Joy has a playful side, and although she’s not into fetch, she’s always ready to run around and have a blast outside. She’s a natural adventurer and would be the perfect hiking companion. Nature is her happy place, and she’s always up for exploring new trails with you. And if you’ve got a box around, watch out – Absolute Joy hasn’t met one she can’t tear apart! For her, peanut butter-filled Kongs are the ultimate treat, making her heart full of joy. If you're looking for a spirited, loving, and fun puppy to bring into your home, Absolute Joy is ready to fill your life with happiness and adventure! Story
Her name may be Moon, but this gorgeous girl is ready to be the center of your universe! 🌙 Moon is a 4.5 month old female puppy who came from a high volume animal shelter in Kentucky. We are not sure what breeds she is mixed with, but it’s fun to guess! This girl is so lovable and sweet. She is always wagging her tail and asking for pets & belly rubs. Moon is incredibly smart. She has nearly mastered crate training and house-training after only a few days in a foster home.  Moon is food motivated, so training will be a breeze. She is learning cues like “sit”. She enjoys alone time playing with her toys but her favorite activity is napping in a comfy spot. If you’re lucky you’ll hear her adorable snoring. 💤 Moon benefits from gentle introductions with other dogs, but she quickly warms up and is ready to play and zoom. She currently lives with two other dogs in her foster home. Moon is excited to continue basic puppy training and socialization with her adopters. She will need some patience and help with leash training, so a backyard is preferred. If you are looking for a smart dog with an amazing personality, then Moon is the perfect girl for you! 🤍 If you are interested in Moon, please apply at shadowandskyrescue.org today!
