Story
Meet Evan! Evan is a 1.5 year old, 65-lb Pointer Mix who loves kisses and cuddles and being close to people. Evan is looking for a foster or adoptive home! His superpowers include being a good listener and fast learner (he has made tremendous progress on leash walking and listening to commands in only 3 days in his foster home) loving all people everywhere, and getting along great with other dogs, including smaller dogs. He is skittish with loud noises and walking on loud streets, but loves playing in the park/closed area with a ball and with other dogs. He is crate trained (he is really comfortable in there!) and fully house broken. He is an absolute sweetheart who would do well in a solo home or in a home with friendly dog/s or a fellow puppy friend. Evan would do best in a home without tiny humans! If you're looking for the biggest lover who will greet you with the sweetest kisses every time you walk in the door as well as get active with you, Evan is truly a great dog and will be your perfect match! To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 at Woodbridge High School (1 Samuel Lupo Pl, Woodbridge, NJ 07095) from 11am - 3pm. Meet London! She's a 1 year old, 32 lb Heeler/Kelpie mix who is sweet, curious, sociable, and good-natured. She's ready to find her forever home! London is a working dog who is extremely smart, patient, and attentive. She is crate trained, house trained, and leash trained, and she's eager to learn just about anything! London has adapted very quickly to the sounds, smells, and energy of Brooklyn. However, at heart, she is a working/herding dog who would thrive in a household with easy access to the great outdoors and/or those looking for a running companion or hiking partner. She prefers to sleep in her crate at night but would never turn down a morning cuddle session. She'll also be sure to lay on your feet while you're on the computer, doing the dishes, cooking, etc. It's been incredible to witness London adapt so quickly to her new environment. She responds healthily to new situations on a daily basis. Although she is still a puppy and can be hyper or highly energetic in unfamiliar surroundings, London responds incredibly well to commands, and her recall is amazing. She is currently being fostered in Brooklyn, NY, and her adoption fee is $500. Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Cherry! If a long walk or hike is your thing, Cherry can't wait to join you. When you're done, she will happily snuggle with you on the couch and give you lots of hugs and kisses to let you know how much she appreciates you. If this sounds like a great day to you, then Cherry may be your perfect match! Cherry is a 3-year-old, 60-lb female Red Heeler who loves lots of exercise, would love a job, and will reward her human with cuddles, kisses, and companionship. She is a typical Heeler - incredibly smart, wants to perform, and is the ultimate protector! She can get overstimulated by lots going on in her home so she should be the only pet and would prefer to live in a home with adults (older kids may be okay). She tends to find younger children to be a bit too much and is still trying to figure out how strong she actually is so, a home without small children is best. Important note: Cherry needs an adopter that has experience with a herding breed and is willing and able to work with her on some behavior modification. If you are willing to commit to her, she will be the best companion you've ever had! Cherry is currently being fostered in the Corning, NY area.
