Story
Hi there! I'm BiBo, a 1 year old Heeler mix with tons of love to share! I'm a sweet and happy girl that was found wandering, but luckily someone swooped in and offered to help me out! I'm living with a foster now and he says I am a good girl. I've got a great little personality and would love to be someone's furever friend. I do good with other dogs and love to play. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2130401##

Meet our Lady in Red and her dozen rose-named puppies. We are a bouquet of puppy love with sweet personalities. We were born under a deck in the dirt and stayed there with our sweet momma for 10 whole days. Thank goodness we made it to a safe clean place at Polk County Humane Society. We can be pre-adopted now, but we won't be ready to leave to our litter until we are 8 weeks old on November 27. That's when we will be ready to bloom in your home furever. Can you think of a better way to spend your Thanksgiving break than loving on a new puppy? Story
We did Brownie's DNA! He's about half cattle dog and the next biggest result was Boxer but he is mixed with many other breeds. Brownie is a sweet, energetic and spunky guy who had a rough start in life. He loves affection and is a good boy. He was found as a stray in Bonne Terre and got picked up by animal control, which is just a shed. We believe Brownie would do best in a more quiet home with older or no kids and an active owner that would spoil him and give him the life he deserves. Brownie will need a fence as he has a high prey drive and loves to chase the yard critters. If there are other dogs in the home they should be about his size or bigger. He loves to play with the other dogs. He has been introduced to the dog savvy catin the house and they get along okay.We only adopt to people in the St. Louis METRO area. Please see our Adoption Policies here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TZjrOP29mqXvcHEC3zPaKXXnS80LaVGMA45Lc0-Z2MI/edit?usp=sharingInformation about the rescue and adoption process can also be found at www.stlpetrescue.com along with a full listing of our adoptable pets. High demand puppies and small dogs may be more. This fee includes: felv/fiv/heartworm testing, worming, flea and ear mite treatments, age-appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, lab work, dental or other medical or surgical treatments as deemed necessary by our team of veterinarians and a microchip with free registration.

He’s also well-behaved, sitting on command and never jumping up on people. Lieutenant absolutely adores human company and is sure to win your heart with his gentle nature. If you're looking for a loyal and loving friend, Lieutenant is your guy!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.November 4, 2024, 11:33 am

Story
Meet Lily Jo, a beautiful almost 2-year-old, 40-pound Aussie mix whose soft white fur and warm tan markings make her as unique and lovable as her personality! This sweet girl loves attention but is just as content lounging around and quietly enjoying the day. A sun-loving pup, Lily Jo adores lazy afternoons soaking up rays, belly rubs, and the joy of a good bone. She’s also a chatterbox who loves to “talk” to you and play with her toys. Lily Jo’s easygoing nature shines through as she befriends both humans and dogs of all sizes. With medium energy levels, she strikes the perfect balance between an active lifestyle and moments of calm relaxation. She’s great with other dogs, housebroken, crate trained, and eager to please as she fine-tunes her house manners after growing up outside. Her food motivation and eagerness to learn make her a quick and delightful student. While Lily Jo isn’t a fan of cats and needs a home without them, she thrives in an environment with a fenced-in yard where she can run and play. Are you ready to welcome a loving, loyal, and playful friend into your family? Lily Jo is waiting to fill your life with joy—adopt her today! She has gone through the Puppies for Parole program and knows many commands and other tricks. Story
Wrangler Age: 5 Breed: Mini Aussie Fenced yard required Other dog in the home required Meet Wrangler, a 5-year-old mini Australian Shepherd who weighs about 30 pounds. She might be Wrangler after the farm/rodeo breed, but she has none of the typical Aussie energy, likely because she was rescued from a breeding facility. Wrangler is looking for a relaxed and patient adopter to help her continue to grow into her personality. She currently lives with four dog foster siblings and will require another dog in the home to give her confidence and be a role model. Wrangler needs to have a safe and secure fenced yard; for example, she does not like the gunshots from nearby target practice in her rural foster home, and she wants to run back inside right away. Wrangler is the ultimate couch potato. She will be a great companion for someone who enjoys life's quiet moments. She has not been around small children, and we suspect they could scare her with their enthusiasm for life. Any children in her new home would need to be older and respectful of animals. Wrangler is spayed, microchipped, heartworm-negative, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $325. Apply today at istodaymydayrescue.org to hear more about this silky-haired beauty who wants more than anything to know what love is!
