Story
3 yo Pure bred Blue Heeler- potty trained, doesn't nip-I am considering re-homing River because she deserves a better quality of life. I am allergic to her and can keep her but cannot pet her much and my children don't pay any attention to her anymore. River deserves more attention and exercise. I have had her since she was a puppy and trained the nip out of her. She is a good housebroken and crate trained dog and is very smart. I believe she could be trained to do anything. River is spayed but will be due for shots soon. She is very affectionate and sweet. She has been raised around lots of children, she will jump up but listens when told to get down. Even though this breed is known for it, her energy really isn't a problem, she calms down within a minute or so of being inside and then lays around and relaxes and likes to chew bones. Right now she only has access to a small backyard. I'd really like to see her go to where she will get some exercise on a regular basis.

Story
Hi, my name is Penelope. I'm supposedly a cross between a Cattle Dog and a Border Collie and estimated to be about 7 months old. I was very scared when I first came to the shelter but the staff has been helping me find my confidence. I love going to the play yard with volunteers and running zoomies as fast as I can! I'm treat motivated and enjoy the company of people.

Approx DOB: 7/4/22    Approx weight: 40pds Adoption Fee $175 NO CATS.... she has a strong prey drive so probably no small animals that size or smaller to be safe Della is a super smart dog and really wants to please her people. Della is well behaved in the home and knows good house manners. It seems day by day her personality is coming out and we can tell she just wants her own family.   She is housebroken and crate trained.  We are working on leash training and she is doing better day by day on our walks.  Della does great with dogs medium size but seems to want to dominate some dogs that are larger then her.  We are still working with her on learning how to be friends with those sizes. She loves toys especially balls.    Della has been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support!
