Dusty is currently in a foster home so please be mindful that we will need to schedule out an appointment at least 24 hours to give our foster time to bring them in for the appointment.***BEHAVIOR TESTING***DOG TEST: (Good with Dogs) Dusty is currently in a foster with other dogs. He loves to wrestle with the puppies in the home and is respectful of the adult dogs. Dusty loves to play with squeaky toys. CAT TEST: (Good with Cats with Training) Dusty has been good in the home with cats. He will chase them play when the cats run, which she is currently being trained with and will likely need a bit more training. Once he is in a stable home he will learn very quickly. KID TEST: (Okay with kids) Dusty is a heeler so his biggest skill is herding. He is very attentive to but would do best with older kids who respect his space. HOUSE BROKEN: ( House Broken) Dusty appears to be completely house broken and will go outside to use the bathroom. He also alerts his foster mom when he needs to go outside by sitting at the door. ENERGY LEVEL: (Medium-High) Dusty is still a puppy who loves to run around and play. Dusty is very smart and will do best with a dedicated owner to give him a job plenty of play time like all heelers need. He would be good for a couple who loves to go for walks and adventures. LEASH WALKING: (Needs Work) Dusty seems to not have been on a leash most of his life and will need some regular work with the leash like most puppies. He is learning quickly with his foster and will take to a leash very quickly. KNOWN COMMANDS: Sit (Yes) Down (No) Stay (No) Shake (Yes) Drop (Yes)

Approx DOB: 7/4/22    Approx weight: 40pds Adoption Fee $175 NO CATS.... she has a strong prey drive so probably no small animals that size or smaller to be safe Della is a super smart dog and really wants to please her people. Della is well behaved in the home and knows good house manners. It seems day by day her personality is coming out and we can tell she just wants her own family.   She is housebroken and crate trained.  We are working on leash training and she is doing better day by day on our walks.  Della does great with dogs medium size but seems to want to dominate some dogs that are larger then her.  We are still working with her on learning how to be friends with those sizes. She loves toys especially balls.    Della has been spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! DOB: 8/1/24                                  Current Weight(as of  12/06/24):  30 Lbs Adoption Fee: $275 includes 1 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. Herschel and his siblings were dumped in a park in Nevada, MO.  The shelter did find the owners and were told  they were not able to care for them, so they dumped them.  Their Dad was supposedly a Boxer and their Mom a Red Heeler. These pups will need an active home with a fenced yard.   I'm the foster mom of the puppies and I have learned that all 4 love watching TV.  They have such cute faces as they are watching.  Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting/adopting one of them just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch.
