Buddy is an absolute gem who is eager to please his person! He loves learning new tricks and having his brain worked, whether it's a 15-minute training session or a puzzle toy he has to figure out himself and trust me he will! He LOVES playing outside in the pool or chasing around the sprinkler stream and also enjoys long hikes through the woods. Buddy is a very active boy who would do best with a yard to run or a lake to swim in. Are you ready for a companion to keep you on your toes? - 1 year 11 months - 57lbs fully grown - Needs a training plan - Good with dogs/cats/farm animals - Good with kids 16+ - Adoption fee: $175 This dog is currently housed at our shelter. If you are interested, please come in at your earliest availability during our open hours, no appointment necessary. We do same-day adoptions, do not hold dogs, and work on a first-come, first-served basis as long as it is an excellent fit for both parties. If you have questions or want to possibly schedule an appointment on one of our closed days, you may email dogs@adoptapetfenton.com. Dog adoption fees include spay/neuter, rabies vaccine (if age-appropriate), distemper/parvo combination vaccine, leptospirosis vaccine (if age-appropriate), bordetella vaccine, deworming, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea preventative, a dental cleaning (if necessary), and a microchip. Story
This dog found its way to our house a few months ago, we’ve been trying to find her a good home since, because we currently have chickens outside and a cat inside that she wouldn’t get along with. I would love to find a home for her with someone who either has another small dog or no other pets, before the winter gets too harsh. She is super sweet and she loves to snuggle, and has spent lots of time with another small dog we have. We have had to keep her in an enclosure or in a specific room of the house most of the time we’ve had her as she has tried to run away or go after our chickens.

Story
Foster location: Eagle, Michigan Meet Axel! Axel is a super handsome 1.5 year old Cattle Dog mix that is looking for his forever home. He is a very social boy who loves playing with his foster siblings and running with them in the yard, going for walks and meeting new people and then cuddling up on the couch at night with his foster mom. Axel has been attending doggy daycare and loves it! Axel is house and crate trained and walks good on a leash. He is great about chewing on his toys and bones and not getting into things he shouldn’t. Axel would enjoy an active home with another young dog to play with, he has really bonded with his foster siblings and enjoys running and playing with them. Kids make Axel nervous so he is looking for a home without children. Axel is a very sweet and smart boy and catches onto new things quickly, he is young and ready to learn! In order to set him up for success we would recommend his family enroll him in a positive reinforcement training class upon adoption. Axel’s adoption fee is $300, he is neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped, dewormed, and current on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Please follow the instructions to apply for Axel found in the auto-reply you will receive or email adoptapupanimalrescue@gmail.com for an application. Adopt A Pup is 100% foster-based which means we do not have a centralized facility where you can visit our dogs. The first step towards meeting the dog(s) you are interested is to complete an application. One of our volunteers will contact your references and set up a time between you and the foster to meet and interact with the dog(s) of interest.

This is a courtesy post for Silver Lake Animal Rescue League to help find Sugar Bear a forever home. So if you are interested in Sugar Bear, please email slarl@yahoo.com with any questions.Sugar Bear is a sweet 6-7 year old mixed breed dog (we don`t know any of her breeds!). Since she has tall ears, we are thinking possibly Cattle Dog mix? She weighs around 35 lbs so she is the perfect medium size dog - not too big and not too small!Sugar Bear`s family was evicted from their home and they put poor Sugar Bear out on the streets. Luckily, a neighbor witnessed this and contacted the local animals shelter. Sugar Bear is now searching for her forever home.Sugar can be a little shy when she meets a new person but once they pet her, she warms up very quickly! Since she can be a little shy, we would recommend a quieter home and one without small children.Sugar enjoys car rides, cuddling and always being with her person, going for walks and naps! Her favorite hobby is chasing squirrels so for that reason, she may not be good with cats or very small animals. She is in a foster home with another dog and does fine with her. She is a very smart girl and listens very well when you call her name. She would make a great agility dog!If interested in Sugar Bear, please email slarl@yahoo.com with any questions.https://www.petfinder.com/dog/sugar-bear-73335576/mi/clawson/silver-lake-animal-rescue-league-mi155/

There are no exceptions … Please remember that we are all volunteers and it may take a week or so after we receive your application to be contacted. Sometimes several people may be interested in the same pet, so please remember that not every animal is right for every home. To ensure a healthy and happy placement for our pets and their new families, we take the time to evaluate each animal’s temperament and try to match the right animal to the right family. OUR ADOPTION GUIDELINES All fees are subject to change without notice. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt nor does it guarantee the animal will be adopted to you. We do not work on a first come first serve basis. We collect applications and make our best determination on where we think the animal would thrive the best. We have the right to deny any applicant without explanation, and the decision is final. Very rarely do we get written documentation of an animal’s age and breed. We do not guarantee these, we work with professionals to help make the best determination. All of our foster homes follow a 30 Day Stay policy and do not make ANY exceptions. This policy requires every animal who comes into foster care, to stay in foster care for a minimum of 30 day before going to their forever home.
