Name: Ford Breed Guess: Heeler Mix Age: 1 year old Gender: Neutered Male Weight: 62 pounds Shelter Temperament: Happy and energetic Children: 16+ years Cats: Will test upon request Dogs: Meet and Greet Required Adoption fee: $150 Likes: Playing tug of war, running around with his people, and treats The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

A happy energetic dog. Loves to play and enjoys long walks. Very smart. Not food motivated. Love’s playing with other dogs. We’re unable to provide the life that Dex deserves. My roommate and I are moving soon and can’t bring him along. I just hope someone needs a furbaby and has lots of time to spend with him, reaches out. He deserves the world!

Did you know that the ivy plant is a symbol of everlasting life, devotion, fidelity and loyalty? An inspiring name for a charismatic pooch such as myself! Being the young lady that I am, an active family would be a match made in heaven! Play time is quite possibly my favorite time of day (sometimes I get a bit carried away with my plushy toys). I like to live life enthusiastically, having a positive direction for my gusto would be the ultimate delight for me! Although physical activity is an absolute riot, having a cool down period with some mental games is a good time too. At the end of the day, I just want to be involved with my people. I am not one to turn down a snuggle session by any means. What can I say, I am a sweetheart after all. I hope to find a family that wants to understand and accepts me for the glorious rescue dog that I am. For instance, I like some other dogs, but not every dog. Smaller dogs (and cats for that matter) remind me of chicken nuggets, I can't help but feel some prey drive there. But some other dogs my own size are fun to hang out and play with. I suppose that its pretty normal to not get along with everyone you meet in life though. Whether or not you are a botanical enthusiast, if you are looking for a forever companion submit your adoption application for the perfect furry addition! Story
Jim Bob is my precious fur baby. He’s an Australian Cattle Stumpy Tail, so he’sgot a little nub on his bottom that wiggles when he’s super happy or excited! He turned 3 this year (July 15th) and is very energetic. He does get along well with dogs, but it takes him a minute to warm up. He’s been around his brother, who is an American Staffy but also did well at a slumber party with my friend’s pit bull and kitty cat. He does have a little bit of separation anxiety so giving him things he can chew and take his time on without destroying right away helps, or blankets! He's a big snuggler. He knows how to wait before licking, give kisses on command, plays fetch, is an incredible jumper, and overall ball of fun! I have not gotten him another round of vaccinations after having a severe reaction. He’s super sweet and I hate to have to do this, but leaving my abusive relationship has left me homeless and I just want him to be somewhere loving and safe. He does not deserve to be in a shelter.

Tally Tally is a Female Aussie/Cattle Dog Mix DOB: November of 2022 Adoption fee: $100.00 If you’re looking for a companion to walk with, cuddle with, spend your days off and evening with, look no further. I can be all those things for the right person, couple or family. I am a good medium size girl, and I have the energy to match. I am not overly active but will require regular exercise. I appear to be house, and crate trained. With little history of my past, I will require a physically fenced yard. I will need some work with leash training but should respond well to positive reinforcement training. Pending a meet and greet, I may do okay with another dog in the home, there are no guarantees. As more behavior is observed my information will be updated. I should do well with children 8 years and older pending observed interaction. At this time, I have not been tested with cats.
