Story
Maverick is a loyal dog who has been a part of our family for the last 6 years. He was originally adopted from the Harbor Humane society. He is very protective of our home and while we have worked very hard with trainers to find tools to support him it is difficult to sustain with two little children.

Story
I adopted Fin, my Catahoula Leopard Dog, from Noah’s Project when he was just a puppy. Now at seven years old, he has grown into a wonderful companion. From the moment I brought him home, he captured my heart with his playful spirit and loyal nature. Fin loves to play ball and is always eager for a game of fetch. He enjoys long walks, and his friendly demeanor makes him a great companion on adventures. After two years, I decided to adopt another dog, and Fin welcomed the new addition with open paws, proving he’s not only good with other pets but also incredibly adaptable. He’s great with kids and elderly family members. One of his favorite things is to have his belly rubbed; he could enjoy that all day long! He’s never tried to run away and always stays close by my side, which is a testament to his loyalty and bond with me. He is a genuine good dog. I am sad to see him go but I know someone out there would give him the attention he needs.

Story
Meet Cooper; She is very sweet girl, who is looking for her fur-ever home. We believe she is around 3-4 years old and is a cattle dog mix. She came to us when her owner passed away and the other owner couldn’t care for her. Due to her breed or mix of breeds we are looking for a very specific home for her where she will be set up best for success! Cooper is pretty reactive towards people on leash and will nip at shins or ankles. She enjoys lots of exercise, biking right now seems to be her favorite. She’d probably do best as an only dog, as loves all the attention on her! She has had some interaction with other dogs on leash and she will correct them if their energy becomes to much for her.   Cooper also needs a kid free home.   We are requiring that her fur-ever home have heeler experience and be committed to getting her the training that she needs. Cooper will also need someone who is willing to do some training with her. **Cooper being a heeler mix does have high herding tendencies, and has a single “bite history” as she nipped someone in the calf.     An approved adoption application is required. The $200 adoption fee (payable by cash or check only) includes spay/neuter; microchip; dental teeth cleaning (if needed prior to adoption); vaccinations; and heartworm testing. Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Dogs for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application. Proof of completion of an obedience class is required for all dogs following adoption. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.October 24, 2024, 1:33 pm

Whisper is a 35 pound, 6 year old Cattle Dog Mix with gorgeous markings and the very best smile !! This sweet soul had a rough start to her life, and so she can take a moment to warm up to new people and situations. She is flourishing in her foster home, and she is learning how to dog. It’s precious. She gives the most endearing kisses and hugs; and she has the most adorable slow tail wag when she’s happy. She does very well with other dogs.  Whisper is spayed and up to date on shots. Her adoption fee is $250. To adopt Whisper apply at  www.rescueofhope.com/adoption-application - This dog is located in Midland, MI ##2123118##

Story
We adopted Rooster with his brother, Colt, one year ago. He is such a snuggler! But, he will do better in a home without other dogs. He is very competitive! He has become aggressive with the dogs, and sometimes that aggression carries over to nearby adults. The final event was that he was growling at another dog, trying to take his food. When I, his owner, told him to stop, he growled at me and then bit me. With small kids in the house, I no longer trust him in our home.
