She is good with other dogs, cats, and even CHICKENS! She is used to being around kids and is raised in a home. She is crate trained and house broken. Ready for your next shotgun rider buddy? SHE IS IT! To adopt an animal from our sanctuary, the first step is to submit an application. *Please note we adopt within the state of MICHIGAN ONLY* The process takes a few weeks. It involves vet and personal reference checks and interview of applicant. There are no exceptions … Please remember that we are all volunteers and it may take a week or so after we receive your application to be contacted. Sometimes several people may be interested in the same pet, so please remember that not every animal is right for every home. To ensure a healthy and happy placement for our pets and their new families, we take the time to evaluate each animal’s temperament and try to match the right animal to the right family. OUR ADOPTION GUIDELINES All fees are subject to change without notice. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt nor does it guarantee the animal will be adopted to you. We do not work on a first come first serve basis. We collect applications and make our best determination on where we think the animal would thrive the best. We have the right to deny any applicant without explanation, and the decision is final. Very rarely do we get written documentation of an animal’s age and breed. We do not guarantee these, we work with professionals to help make the best determination. All of our foster homes follow a 30 Day Stay policy and do not make ANY exceptions. This policy requires every animal who comes into foster care, to stay in foster care for a minimum of 30 day before going to their forever home. Story
Gender: Male Age: 8 weeks Breed/Color: Cattle Dog / Bernese Mountain Dog Location: SE Michigan Pet ID: 2024_15, 16 Adoption Fee: $500 (+ $100 Neuter Deposit) Meet Hank and Tom! These two sweet boys are looking for a very specific home. THEY WILL NOT BE RE HOMED TOGETHER! THEY WILL GO ONLY TO A HOME WITH DOG EXPERIENCE. The reason being is that these were an oops breeding of two very powerful breeds. Tom (black ears and patches) is very much like his mama Cattle Dog. Independent and smart! Hank is like his daddy Bernese. Very large, loyal and confident. These dogs are too young to finish all of their shots and to be neutered. They will be going with a refundable deposit for the adopter to do at their expense. A happy energetic dog. Loves to play and enjoys long walks. Very smart. Not food motivated. Love’s playing with other dogs. We’re unable to provide the life that Dex deserves. My roommate and I are moving soon and can’t bring him along. I just hope someone needs a furbaby and has lots of time to spend with him, reaches out. He deserves the world!

Story
Did you know that the ivy plant is a symbol of everlasting life, devotion, fidelity and loyalty? An inspiring name for a charismatic pooch such as myself! Being the young lady that I am, an active family would be a match made in heaven! Play time is quite possibly my favorite time of day (sometimes I get a bit carried away with my plushy toys). I like to live life enthusiastically, having a positive direction for my gusto would be the ultimate delight for me! Although physical activity is an absolute riot, having a cool down period with some mental games is a good time too. At the end of the day, I just want to be involved with my people. I am not one to turn down a snuggle session by any means. What can I say, I am a sweetheart after all. I hope to find a family that wants to understand and accepts me for the glorious rescue dog that I am. For instance, I like some other dogs, but not every dog. Smaller dogs (and cats for that matter) remind me of chicken nuggets, I can't help but feel some prey drive there. But some other dogs my own size are fun to hang out and play with. I suppose that its pretty normal to not get along with everyone you meet in life though. Whether or not you are a botanical enthusiast, if you are looking for a forever companion submit your adoption application for the perfect furry addition! DOB: 5/25/2021 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
We adopted Rooster with his brother, Colt, one year ago. He is such a snuggler! But, he will do better in a home without other dogs. He is very competitive! He has become aggressive with the dogs, and sometimes that aggression carries over to nearby adults. The final event was that he was growling at another dog, trying to take his food. When I, his owner, told him to stop, he growled at me and then bit me. With small kids in the house, I no longer trust him in our home.
