Story
Look at this beauty - she's been waiting a long time!!Mama Noelle is a beautiful and intelligent girl who loves toys, treats, and playing and is ready to find her forever family. We believe the reason she's not gained any attention is because at first she was considered a flight risk but not more - she's so much more comfortable in her new foster home she's not going anywhere until her new forever home is found. She's also doing great with her leash walking which was a roadblock before - again, foster family prevails and she's got it down!!Sweet Noelle was a stray who was running around in the very frigid weather of December 2022, very, very pregnant. A southern foster home was secured for her, but Noelle escaped while being brought there. For almost a week, rescuers frantically searched for her and her impending litter. She was finally found under a local house, where she had already given birth to 11 puppies!!! This time, she was brought safely to her foster home along with her family, where she was just the best mama to her babies (who were all adopted!!)Mama Noelle is gentle to her core and needs a gentle approach in return. She is soulful, sensitive, and sweet- needing some extra love and patience to learn to trust over time. When first meeting new people she prefers to observe quietly from a distance, watching and waiting till she's sure she is safe. Once she's comfortable, she'll slowly make her way over for pets and head scratches (even belly rubs!). She hopes to find home where she can hang out on the couch with her humans or fellow dogs. She wants very much to be with her people she just needs time to learn she can trust them. This girl has been making lots of strides on getting comfortable with daily walks- people walking by don't bother her one bit, but big sudden movements or loud noises can spook her. She'll jump and walk in circles around her person. She's learning and has been recovering much more quickly, able to continue about her walk once she knows all is well. She doesn't pull on leash at all but needs a handler who's ready to give her the reassurance she needs when things get a little scary for her. While she is fine once she's on leash, she needs a slow approach to getting the leash put on her as it's something she's still fearful of, so will need continued help as she learns. She has been gaining confidence each and every day but takes time to really let her guard down. Mama Noelle does great with other dogs and looks to them to know things are going to be okay. If she sees her dog siblings getting attention she'll make her way over for pets as well. She is a pro at ignoring dogs when out and about so no pulling or barking! Noelle's been making a ton of progress getting comfortable in the car. She'll jump in on her own! She takes some time to settle once in the car, no barking just panting. Noelle's fear response is only to seek safety, indoors that means finding her crate. Outside that means looking to the people she knows for reassurance. She is exceptionally quiet and gentle, just sensitive to the unknown. Mama Noelle arrived to New England after being with her southern foster family for quite a long time. All the big changes she experienced were a bit scary for her, leading to some regression. But after some time to get comfortable, she's learning her new routine and adjusting. Mama will need patience, love, and understanding when arriving in a new home. But once she knows she safe and secure she'll show her people how sweet she is!Name: Mama Noelle (LOCAL)Breed: Cattle Dog XSex: FemaleAge: 3 years 7 months as of 11/24Weight: 70.0- does need to lose some weightSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Has completed treatment and ready for a new home!!Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Yes over 7 Good with Dogs: Yes!Good with Cats: 100% shows zero interest in them.
