Meet Apollo! Apollo is a 5-year-old Cattle Dog mix. If you're looking for the perfect companion, you can choose any adventure you want with this dog. He loves the car so pick a park, pick a kayak, pick a trail - He's ready to go. At home, he's good for zoomies in the yard or settling down for cozies on the couch. He might look a little serious, but he's very affectionate. He's a straightforward dog with simple needs. At his age and maturity level, he does not need to be entertained or exercised all day. He is not a groupie, he just needs his "person", his BFF. Apollo requires a physically fenced in yard and a home without other animals. A graduate of the Paws Behind Bars program, Apollo was awarded the highest praise for his learning. All the volunteers rave how sweet Apollo is and now he is ready for you! If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Apollos picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Additional adoption FAQ's can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants based on our "best family fit" approach.

Story
LENNOX is a 2 year old, female cattle dog mix. She weighs 39 lbs. She was originally adopted out as a puppy and came back when she hit her "terrible teens". Those days are now long gone and she has blossomed into a lovely, young lady. Our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program was just what she needed. Here, the rules are the rules and slowly, but surely, Lennox started to fall into line. Cattle dogs are a very task driven breed and obedience training was actually what she needed. She also polished up her social skills. Upon graduating from the program, she went to a great foster home. Here, she became BFF's with the foster's dog. (Who was also in our program and came back as an unruly teenager before he, too, went through Paws Behind Bars) Her "perfect fit" home will be an active one with older children. (cattle dogs will always want to herd). If there is another dog, a male would be preferred. A fenced in yard is a must so she can get the proper amount of exercise. She loves people and thrives on obedience and structure. If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Lennox's picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Additional adoption FAQ's can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants based on our "best family fit" approach. Thank you!

Story
EVIE is a 16 week old, female cattle dog/hound mix puppy. She's got soooooo much going for her! She's beautifully marked. That diluted, ticked coat really sets off her big, brown eyes. She's very friendly and outgoing. She's playful but with just the right amount of energy. She's currently in our "good dog school" learning her manners and obedience. Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program will help her master crate, leash and house-training skills. She will also know how to walk nicely on a leash, and do sit, down, stay and come on command! She's just a baby but she'll have everything she needs to grow up into an exceptional family companion! Her perfect fit family should be an active one. She is at an age where she can grow up with anything as her "normal" - other dogs, cats & kids. A fenced in yard is recommended, so as she grows, she can get the proper amount of exercise. There aren't many places you can adopt the best of all worlds! If you are interested in Evie, submit an online application found on our website, www.adoptmebluegrasspeterescue.com. Additional adoption FAQ's can be found there also. Meets will be set with approved applicants. Thank you

Story
Salvador was acquired from an animal shelter in Louisville. He was a stray pup and hadn’t been there long before we adopted him. He is a little over a year old. We want him to go to a loving home where he can be cared for and have a wonderful life. Unfortunately, we are not able to give him that. My wife and I both work very long hours and are not able to give him the time he deserves. He is an energetic dog who needs someone to play with and preferably a yard for him to run around in. He loves playtime and is good around other dogs.

Story
Max is a loving and amazing dog. He is such a people person and always shows constant affection. He is very energetic and needs lots of attention. He is trained well and responds quickly to commands. He would be a great fit for a young family or a farm that can give him the space and time for his energy. I am relocating a cross the country this fall and need to find an amazing home for this sweet boy.
