Story
Max is a loving and amazing dog. He is such a people person and always shows constant affection. He is very energetic and needs lots of attention. He is trained well and responds quickly to commands. He would be a great fit for a young family or a farm that can give him the space and time for his energy. I am relocating a cross the country this fall and need to find an amazing home for this sweet boy.

Story
Theo is a two year old puppy who loves to play, run, and cuddle. He loves to give kisses and tries to be a lap dog. He loves to sleep beside you under the covers and wake you up with kisses in the morning. He's a great guard dog and is always on alert. Unfortunately, Theo requires a lot of attention. We recently moved out of my family home and he's alone most of the day. He has a lot of anxiety when being left alone and cannot handle being in a cage for hours. I and my husband both work long hours throughout the day and the shift has been hard for Theo. We don't want to rehome him, but see it as a better option for him in the end to be with a family who can give him all the attention and proper training he needs.

Story
Misha is an incredibly affectionate heeler mix. She has yet to meet a person she doesn't immediately like. Misha has done well with children and cats. She follows basic commands (sit, stay, leave it, etc) and loves to go for runs or play with tug toys. She recently started getting into fights with one of our dogs and needs a new home for her and the other dog's safety. She is spayed, chipped, and up to date on all vaccines. Misha needs a home where she can get more attention and play than I'm currently able to give her. To avoid surrendering her to a shelter, we need to re-home her quickly. Inquiries please call .

Meet Apollo! Apollo is a 5-year-old Cattle Dog mix. If you're looking for the perfect companion, you can choose your adventure with Apollo He is ready for the coffee run and pup cup car ride, a stroll in the park, zoomies in the yard, and being your cozy companion at home. He is inquisitive, enjoys people and giving kisses. Apollo is a simple dog, with simple needs. At his age and maturity level, he does not need to be entertained or exercised all day. A graduate of the Paws Behind Bars program, Apollo was awarded the highest praise for his learning. All the volunteers rave how sweet Apollo is and now he is ready for you! Story
LENNOX is a 2 year old, female cattle dog mix. She weighs 39 lbs. She was originally adopted out as a puppy and came back when she hit her "terrible teens". Those days are now long gone and she has blossomed into a lovely, young lady. Our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program was just what she needed. Here, the rules are the rules and slowly, but surely, Lennox started to fall into line. Cattle dogs are a very task driven breed and obedience training was actually what she needed. She also polished up her social skills. Upon graduating from the program, she went to a great foster home. Here, she became BFF's with the foster's dog. (Who was also in our program and came back as an unruly teenager before he, too, went through Paws Behind Bars) Her "perfect fit" home will be an active one with older children. (cattle dogs will always want to herd). If there is another dog, a male would be preferred. A fenced in yard is a must so she can get the proper amount of exercise. She loves people and thrives on obedience and structure. If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Lennox's picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Additional adoption FAQ's can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants based on our "best family fit" approach. Thank you!

Story
Beethoven was born deaf to a litter of ten purebred Australian Cattle Dogs. His brothers and sisters all went to good homes to either be family pets or working dogs. However, because of his special needs, Beethoven stayed with us to be cared for. We already have three other dogs and realize we have stretched ourselves a bit. We want Beethoven to have his best life with someone who can care for him properly. Beethoven has been an outside dog who is crated inside at night. He is incredibly intelligent and sweet. While he can occasionally be ornery, he mostly wants to run and bark at squirrels when he sees them. He has shown food aggression in the past and we have worked with him to correct but we have seen him try to bully other dogs out of the bowl. In his life, Beethoven has interacted with at least five other dogs but never with cats. He does well around children.
