He adores snuggling up in your chair while you enjoy your favorite shows, and he loves nothing more than to rub his face against yours when you give him some love. With his heartwarming habit of burrowing into warm blankets fresh from the dryer, Leroy is a bundle of adorable joy! This charming pup has a playful side, too! He’s a squeaky ball enthusiast who loves to fetch and will keep you entertained with his relentless squeaking. Leroy is well-behaved in the car and has completed obedience classes, showcasing his intelligence and eagerness to learn.  While he’s a friendly guy with people—ask the vets and techs who adore him—Leroy does prefer a calm environment without other dogs. He thrives best in a home with a young, kid-free couple or a single person looking for a loyal companion. Leroy is a medium-energy dog who enjoys small walks and some fetching in the living room, making him the perfect pet for a relaxed lifestyle. Please note that Leroy needs a special home where he can be the only dog. He has had some challenges with dog interactions, so he’s managed carefully in his current environment. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Suzi is an adult ACD/BC who was found stray and is currently in a foster home for Mo-Kan Border Collie Rescue.  This is a courtesy listing on behalf of Mo-Kan BC Rescue, and anyone interested in meeting or learning more about Suzi should e-mail Kim Pluenneke of Mo-Kan at the below e-mail address: kpluenneke@gmail.com Mo-Kan BC Rescue says this about Suzi: Meet Suzi, a charming black and white Border Collie mix, weighing around 40 lbs. She's a true peoplelover, always ready for affection and cuddles. Suzi enjoys a variety of things and activities such as playing tug, soft squeaky toys, going on walks, frozen peanut butter filled kongs, hard chews, licky mats, snuffle mats, dog puzzles, soft foam dog beds (and maybe a fuzzy one for her head), belly rubs, and giving kisses. She's potty trained and kennel trained, though she'd rather be by your side.  Suzi has a bit of a prey drive, so she's not suited for homes with small animals. She's selective with other dogs, making her a good fit as an only dog or with a submissive dog companion. She's actively learning commands and tricks (sit, lie down, come, wait, here, get it, give it, leave it, place, here, spin, twirl, touch, hide, roll over, crawl and catch) and is eager to please for treats or toys. Suzi is intelligent, inquisitive, and knows when to relax. If you're seeking a Border Collie's intelligence, beauty, and loyalty without the high energy, Suzi is your ideal match. She requires a fenced yard and someone knowledgeable about her breed. She's spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Suzi is currently in foster care in Manhattan, KS.   Please note that Suzi is listed as being good with kids but has not been around very small children (toddlers and infants); she does quite well with older children.  She is friendly with dogs of her size and will need a gradual introduction to much smaller dogs.  She is not tolerant of cats as they seem to set off her prey drive.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 5, 2025, 8:59 pm

Story
Meet Lucky! He is the world's biggest tennis ball fan! Playing fetch is his absolutely favorite thing to do! He has so much fun playing fetch that it makes us have so much fun when we are with him...we're not sure who enjoys themselves more! Lucky is a huge cuddler once he gets to know you. He does the most adorable, excited lil' paw stompies, almost like a dance, when he is with the people he loves. He is known for not being shy about vocalizing what he wants...AKA telling you he is ready for you to throw the next tennis ball for him to chase! A couple of other awesome things about Lucky is that he has lived with cat friends before! He also has been around dogs the majority of his life! Given that he is just a bit over nine-and-a-half years young, he prefers calmer dogs who are content to co-exist and chill together. Rough and tumblin' wrestlin' matches aren't his thing anymore. He hasn't lived with kiddos, to our knowledge, but we think he may do well with children who are around 10ish years and older. Lucky is one of the most polite leash-walkers. He walks right next to you like the perfect gentleman that he is. He'll ask you for a few extra minutes to get to know new people but once he does, it's like you are an old friend and you both go way back. A home on the quiet side would probably suit him best. Lucky would love to go for daily walkies with his new best friend. He is a bit overweight and we know his quality of life can be even better once the weight is off at a healthy rate. Lucky is a sweet spunky guy and any adopter would be lucky, wink wink, to have him. He's neutered and is waiting for you to come meet him. We have him scheduled for a dental cleaning to be done on February 18th. He can be adopted before then but will need to be brought back to the shelter for his procedure on that day.

Story
I am a shy guy at first but once I warm up to you I am your forever side kick. I was in a home with lots of other dogs and even a kitty but my energy level was a bit much for the older ones in the house. I walk very well on a leash, I am potty trained per my previous owner, and I am good in a kennel.

“HI ALL!!! My name is Tina (but I answer to hand signals!) I’m under 4years old as much as I love my friends here I really would LOVE a foster or forever home that can help me along- I have had a hard time training due to being deaf and some people just don’t understand me:( I would require a new parent to be very understanding and knowledgeable regarding hearing impaired pets or willing to work with me. I have been returned a few times due to my mouth getting me into trouble:( But, I know my forever home is out there!!! I’m the best girl ever I promise and I would LOVE a place to call home for now or permanently that has prior experience with a deaf puppy!!!”   ##575157##
